Arrggggghhh it's 2021 and still have these issues! Can't help but think all the updates for the printnightmare issues aren't helping!

You can still enable it via gpo or via right clicking the bookmarks bar and click "show apps shortcut"

it's the "sign" link after you click the apps button...... i've had to force sign to use Chrome, this then prompts the users to sync.

Hi all, Something has changed here on the Google front. When our users signed in via the below method, they were prompted to enable Sync. This of course applies bookmarks, password etc to their account on the computer they have logged into. I've also noticed if you click on app as below, the "sign-in" option is no longer there. The issue we now have, is that user have to opt-in and manual enable sync on their accounts via the below method. I can "disable" the use on sync via GPO, but can not force the use of it. Am i missing something? We keep getting support calls for "my bookmarks have gone" and the like.

Bit of a back story, we are changing MIS and unfortunately our Cashless catering supplier (Cunninghams) isn't fully compatible with Bromcom payments. We've been with Cunninghams for a very long time and wanted to stay with them. However the forces that be, wanted a fully integrated cashless system with the MIS. Cunninghams had offered us their payment gateway thingy, but it didn't resolve the MIS integration issue. Fast forward a little and we now need now need to transfer our balances. The Cunningham's end of year report only shows the external SIMS ID, Name and balance. Ideally we'd like to have the UPN and or form in their to be able to match the balances more efficiently. Not having ever had to play with cunninghams, i'm a little green with it. So I contacted cunninghams support and asked if they could help. At this point the are away that we will be leaving them. The response was along the lines of "Yes it can be done, however it will cost £300". Anybody got any pointers on how i might be able to create a custom report? thanks

We use Cluster Aware Updating to update our 3 nodes. it applies the updates to all 3 nodes. Reboots one, waits till it has installing the updates, syncs the disks and then moves onto the next node. we schedule ours to run at a specific time, but still "approve" updates for it via Wsus

Any schools using this feature that is using or had used the Google AD Sync tool? We currently use Google AD Sync and have no issues. However if we enable Bromcom's Google user provisioning, i'm worried its going to mess up the Google OU structure........ And if Bromcom creates something in our Google OU Structure..... the Google AD sync tool will remove it as it doesn't exist in our AD structure!...... my head hurts..... it too hot

Hi all, do any of you have guest students in bromcom? Are they able to utilise the epayments system with them being "guests" ? We have a small specialist school what uses our site. They have their own MIS, but are in our current MIS (SIMS) as guests. We're moving to bromcom and need for these guest students to be able to use the epayments feature of bromcom to be able to top up their dinner money etc....... Do any of you have and use this scenario? cheers

We use Google here. When had (In the past) managed to get our users in from Google via SAML. But the whole downloading a csv everytime i new student/staff member left or joined us was a deal breaker. i just watched the video, so am i right in thinking i can use the user sync tool (instead of the csv download) to populate the groups and assign licenses automictically. or have i misunderstood that? if so do you have a video on setting up that? i think its "Google connector" and the "user sync tool" i get confused with. We are moving from SIMS to Bromcom, so dont want people using it until we get round to removing the clients/solus. We still need access in the it admin office and to the sims server until we're happy nothing is lurking... Removing shortcuts, S: and using applocker seems the way to go. cheers all

Hi all, Not really familiar with SIM so i thought i'd ask here. I want to disable access to sims for a group of users. These users are still on role and i don't want to remove their permissions, just their ability to log into sims. I know i can do it ad hoc via Focus ---- system manager ---- and untick the "active" box under "login details" just wanted to know if there's a better faster way of removing it for larger user numbers. thanks

We've managed to get etimetabler to install from a network share and then run once it's updated. If you install it as you would normally on your "Admin" machine..... then copy the below file to a network location accessible by your user/s C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Bromcom Computers Plc\e-Timetable\e-timetable.appref-ms add rules to applocker to allow it to run (via its digital sig) then place a shortcut to the network location on the desktop (or other location) for your user/s when installing or if it updates, you might get an error if using redirected folders ( or start menus) as the installer won't have write access to place the shortcut. once the install (or update) has finished, just run it again and it will load.

Hi I had a very similar issue ages ago. Mine was "not connected to a network" but work absolutely fine! it was something to do with the private/public/domain profile against the network card having a issue. i ran this on the server in question: net localgroup administrators networkservice /add net localgroup administrators localservice /add sources https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/you-are-not-currently-connected-to-a-network/cd7dbd92-4322-4dcf-a7f8-c6e720a60a18
