  1. Sorry guys just managed to find it....... i couldn't see the woods because of the trees! https://chat.google.com/ #embarrassed
  2. Hi all, Long short here. we used to use Google hangouts for staff to communicate with each other and to the IT-support team. Students don't have this feature. Since Google moved Meet, Chat etc into Gmail (Think it's called integrated chat) we've not been able to use it. We use Sophos XG and have checked nothing is being blocked on the FW, Webfilter, Application control etc etc. I have confirmed it is enabled for us in the Google admin panel. In Fact it works fine when off site (or via 4g) So it's something i'm missing in Sophos, i suspect it's a https URL that needs "ignoring" but i can't find it! Anybody had this issue that might be able to shine a light on it? Everything seems to work fine..... it's just the "send" button is greyed out, tested off site fine, if i vpn in (i get the onsite rules) it reverts to being grey. Thanks in advance.
  3. Sorry i assumed you were a Google site. We can do exactly what you are asking with a mixture of GPOs/Google Admin Panel and FW settings...... but we have definitely sold our soul the Google...... but never looked back
  4. We use Google browser here along with the Google Admin panel. What is it you need to know? i can just have a look at our settings.
  5. If using Chrome browser you can enforce this via GPO also. We do this incase anybody isn't signed into a Google account. (Then our Admin panel settings take over). EDIT: this might just be safe searching thinking about it...... let me check Yep you can:
  6. Love mine!
  7. That's great thanks, I have no idea why this is so hidden away! thanks
  8. Not sure if this is the right section for paxton. We have a valid net 2 pro license and what to update the software on the server. I'm trying to download the latest version..... but i need to be an approved installer???? Can this not be updated directly on the server? I can't seem to find a check for updates/Upgrade button??? any pointers? thanks
  9. I play it on Google stadia. Not had a single issue here..... very pleased i went with that platform. FPS is great even at 4k. I still have every console i've owned since a kid (starting with nes upto ps4 xbox/one.) Ran out of space to store them..... so now pay £8.99 per month for stadia (paid £49.99 for cyberpunk with a stadia controller and chromecast ultra). I also get about 3-6 games per month to play for free. only put 5 hours ish in on CP2077 at the mo though! edit: you dont have to pay £8.99 per month..... that gives you free games every month and you can play in 4k and surround sound. If you already have a google account, you have access to stdia..... just no games yet (you can play a demo)..... if you bought cp2077 on stadia without the £8.99 per "premium" tier, you can "only" play in 1080p with no surround sound.
  10. That's the one you're a star..... looking at this now also.... https://workspaceupdates.googleblog.com/2020/04/enhanced-security-windows-10-google-login.html
  11. where was that buried in the gpo? cheers
  12. HI all, i'm trying to restrict multiple accounts being used on chrome. I've enforce the the policy that allow on our domain, so that personal accounts can't be used. However we've discovered that staff/students are signing into their accounts on other peoples sessions. I've found the policy in the Google admin panel, however i'm struggling to find the GPO equivalent for users that are not yet sign into chrome. any pointers? I'm sure it's a case of i can't see the woods because of the trees!
  13. Was a little worried then!
  14. Just the press getting things wrong? it is the express! https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1372333/Gmail-hacked-Google-down-latest-update-security-data-breach-server-error-news-vn
  15. So is cloudready and neverware two different products? i tired cloudready and wouldn't allow Family link accounts. the below says it isn't supported https://cloudreadykb.neverware.com/s/article/Does-Family-Link-Work-On-A-CloudReady-Machine
  16. Really i did this last week. The child account is a family link account controlled by the family link app. is this the case for you? EDIT: sorry it was cloudready i tried. not neverware...... my mistake...... need to use neverware then i guess...... they have a "free" version? EDIT2: so it's the same thing from what i can tell....... no idea what issue i was having then! here is the issue i was having https://neverware.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360002553127-Family-Link-Support?page=2#comments
  17. Interesting, hopefully once they have made some changes, we'll be able to sign into neverware with a family link account. at the moment the api is only allowed on official chromeOS devices. i tried to install neverware on a old computer for my daughter, but i couldn't login with a child's account..... had to install ZorinOS instead. hopefully they won't just absorb it!
  18. Here's my take on it..... The US treasury was hacked forcing the government to authorise the use of a untested AI computer system to track and wipe out the threat...... it's name..... SKYNET duh duh, duh duh duh I love the fact that SKYNET actually exists at the NSA it is 2020 after all! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SKYNET_(surveillance_program)
  19. I agree... this has blown my mind lol such a simple solution. Does it increase login time? Our users are members of the "domain users" builtin group. Would i add them to the guest group in addition to, or instead of? Gonna give this a go i think. i started this thread about an issue we were having with local profiles. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/218759-how-you-guys-removing-old-stale-local-profiles-windows-10-ltsb-1809-a.html
  20. Our school is considering a move to bromcom. The head wanted to know of any schools in the NW of england that might be using it and whether or not they'd be happy us paying a visit to have a look. (once all this covid stuff disappears of course!) Would be happy to know how many of you are using bromcom "up north". cheers
  21. We're on rapid release, but didn't know that included beta
22. We just noticed our default share settings for Google drive has changed his morning. Looking into this, Google seems to have added a new "Target audience" feature where it will select the default sharing permission for any files/doc you want to share. In its wisdom, Google decided that our whole domain would benefit as being the default target audience as default share group and these new files. This could mean that if a staff member didn't change (or read) the share permission before saving, student could has been given access to confidential files. Lucky we use team/shared drives here, and we can check who's read or accessed files. Just thought i'd mention it in case somebody else has been affected by it. Not sure i missed a bulletin about this new feature...... seems to be "beta" also Apps---Google Workspace---Settings for Drive and Docs---Sharing settings---Sharing options---Access Checker--- "recipients only" (check this for each of your OUs) Apps---Google Workspace---Settings for Drive and Docs---Sharing settings---Target audiences https://admin.google.com/ac/targetaudiences (this seems to be beta) any ideas where i can opt out of beta features?
  23. We're looking to introduce LAPS on our site to manage the local admin passwords https://4sysops.com/archives/introduction-to-microsoft-laps-local-administrator-password-solution/ Just wanted to ask if any of you using it and run the LAPS UI from a remote/machine/network share instead of installing on to each client? I can't seem to find the answer to that. cheers
  24. Oh ok so its not just on restart..... thanks for this.... we have ssds site wide..... 240GB cheers
