Hi All, Little confused on how to approach this, I know the "connect as" function doesn't work anymore in GPP. We have a off domain computer that has a shared folder which is mapped to certain computers via a .vbs script. I manually placed this script into the computers "startup folder". This is fine if only one person has access to the computer. However i have a scenario where a computer is shared. I want user 1 to have the mapped drive, and user 2 not to have the mapped drive. Can i use a "logon" (user) script via gpp to do this, or am i right to presume the user permission wont be able to launch the script. if i change it to "startup" (computer) i end up with both users having the mapped drive. I can't test this at to mo as i'm off site, just brainstorming. I have the location of the folder share, username and password of the off domain shared folder. Any thoughts would be appreciated. The .vbs script is as below; 'args = WScript.Arguments.Count Option Explicit Dim objNetwork Dim strDriveLetter, strRemotePath, strUser, strPassword, strProfile ' Values of variables set strDriveLetter = "V:" strRemotePath = "\\offdomain-PC\shared_folder" strUser = "offdomain-PC\username" strPassword = "password1234" strProfile = "false" ' This section creates a network object. (objNetwork) ' Then apply MapNetworkDrive method. Result V: drive ' Note, this script features 5 arguments on lines 21/22. on error resume next Set objNetwork = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Network") objNetwork.MapNetworkDrive strDriveLetter, strRemotePath, _ strProfile, strUser, strPassword 'if args > 0 then 'msgbox wscript.arguments(0) & wscript.arguments(1) 'end if

Google Suite Admin asks a Office 2016/19 365 question.

Google Suite Admin asks a Office 2016/19 365 question.
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Office Software
Yep mange to do that. Although some users had already created some files/folders be i closed it. I also disabled external sharing. I know Google admins dont have the option to view all file stored in Drive, But to 365 admins have the ability to view all users files in onedrive/sharepoint? I need to make sure that nothing is being stored there that shouldn't be and purge it if poss. It all works very similar to Google, the same but different. cheers -
Google Suite Admin asks a Office 2016/19 365 question.

Thanks for the reply, We looked at having single sign on for o365 and Gsuite. But the approach here is that we shouldn't be using o365 to store school data. Users get a warning stating they should be using G Suite for official school data. We allow staff to access O365 (personal) but don't allow logins against our domain. The management of two cloud storage locations would make collaboration fun. i can foresee a "Well we'll just have to use O365 then instead" senario in the future. thanks again for the reply -
Ok, i'm probably gonna sound stupid here.......but here's the best place to ask.... as you guys don't judge........ So we're primarily a Google Suite site. Chromebooks/Devices, Google sites, Classroom etc etc. We have Office 2016 on our "golden image" for exams, Office power users and the like etc. We're running windows 10 1809 (ltsc) Just looking at making a 1903 image, and was thinking of updating to office 2019 whilst at it. Now we need office onsite, i'm not trying to get rid of it. But i was just wondering what the update path is for office in the future. Will Microsoft remove Officeskus in favour of 365? Where does that leave us as a school that uses Gsuite and where users have Google logins and not MS accounts? Can office 365 be deployed and used "offline" without MS account in a traditional sense? Just dont want to be in a senario where once 2019 is nolonger supported, we can only use 365. Any thoughts are welcome, just thinking outloud pre coffee. Cheers

Can you move (Migrate) Google My Drive FOLDERS to Shared Drives?
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Cloud Services
Isnt that for files only though, not folders -
Long story short. We need to migrate a users My Drive to a Shared (Team) Drive. This user has a organised folder structure (SHOCK HORROR). I can migrate individual files to a Shared (Team) drive. But i want to migrate a folder, its substructure and any files that are in it. I can't seem to do this. Am i missing something? Thanks in advance.

I get upto the same place on a off domain full admin permissions machine. I'm totally baffled.

This is where i'm upto now. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/209525-sage-200c-e-banking-service-not-populating.html I authorised the "sage" signature in applocker to get it install and working.

As above, I bet all your clients are sending windows updates to all the "other" clients. We had this. We use get our WSUS server to deploy updates. From the article below: Delivery Optimization is turned on by default on all editions of Windows 10. There is however a difference between Enterprise and Education versions of windows 10, and the regular versions such as Pro or Home. All Enterprise and Education versions are configured to only use PCs on a corporate network as peers. Consumer versions of Windows 10 on the other hand are configured to use local and Internet peers when it comes to updates We disabled the use of clients and internet as peers. Only our WSUS server sends updates. You can disable it via GPO here: https://www.ghacks.net/2016/08/17/windows-10-update-delivery-optimization/

My rad was at the top of the case. Found the pump (on the cpu) was powerful enough to push the bubbles around.
-
I had a similar issue with one of my AIOs. (Not corsair) but of the same age give or take. Took the plunge to open the loop before replacing it, found lots of "BIO" gunk inside, that i can only assume released some gases that made some bubbles. Sounded like bubbles running through the system (like a fish tank). Bought a corsair AIO....... been fine since! these are cheap now, cheaper than a cpu that's for sure!

Powerpoint 2016 - Crashing and altering screen settings.
Jaan replied to TheRobins's topic in Office Software
I know this is an old thread, but did you resolve this? We have a batch of machines with the Intel UHD 630 chipset and we are now having these issues. We've tried official drivers intel drivers and forcing older intel drivers, as well as making changes to Powerpoint via GPO. We are running windows 10 and office 2016 for reference. cheers -

Jaan replied to 5nowman's topic in Windows 10
Its powerpoint thats the issue somehow. We asked a staff member to use Google sheets, it has been fine for weeks...... as soon as we asked them to use Powerpoint. the issue returned. -

Think gen 2 are uefi and gen 1s aren't, so wouldn't boot if the disk are pre gen 2? (just thinking out loud here)

Am i correct in thinking that this has a sync option from AD? so i don't have to manually update user access as and when they leave? was hoping to user our existing user groups as room access groups if poss. Any advance would be great. We also sync papercut and G Suite if that's an alternative option, can't seem to find anything in the software.

Any body running Sage200c had the issue i have in Post#7? I've tried local admin, infact i get the error if i login as domain admin also. Not sure if its a sage issue or a config error on the domain at this point. any help appreciated.
