  1. The Inventory machines aren't on the domain and as such dont have the credentials to connect (MS removed that feature) so its do via a .vbs script
  2. Hi I'm aware of this, however i thought the limit was 20? we have this script on 13 pcs
  3. We have 10 people or so that use inventry here onsite. We have a script that maps a drive so the user can launch the inventry app. This a .vbs script that runs at startup on the computer. it works most of the time.... periodically it just doesn't want to map the drive. a restart or two will fix it. But it's a real pain when people need it. Anybody else have this issue?
  4. We use a Sophos XG with firewall and web filtering here. Not had any issues with that. get a lot of hits against the little ones trying........
  5. add .swf as a disallowed extension on File server resource manager. save this against the user areas. we do this for other extension types also. Prevents them from being able to save the disallowed extension type
  6. We have Sophos XG here along with its managed wifi module, love it. We also have the AV client on our pcs..... staff get a free premium independent version year on year also for personal use which is nice.
  7. Are sub forums a possibility?
  8. 2 x 1TB SSD and 6 x 2TB SAS on each of our 3 nodes. Currently everything fits into the cache layer, so it's pretty speedy, although reads are also cached in a hybrid set up https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/storage-spaces/understand-the-cache
  9. It hasn't technically fallen off the wall though..... the wall has fallen off the building!
  10. How have you deployed eTimetabler to domain machines. Was hoping for a MSI not an EXE i need to deploy eTimetabler to a group of machines. How are you guys doing it? Looks like it installs into app data
  11. Sorry old thread, can things like this be controlled centrally so the we don't have to rely on individuals to do this?
  12. Cunninghams have offered us their ipayment option for 2 years....... but our head wants full bromcom integration, so we are currently looking at civica. Cunninghams have also said we weren't the only school to have connected them about this issue....but integration is not on their roadmap or timeframe.
  13. Yeah thanks for this. i have emptied and then disabled the recycle bin/s. Still the same.
  14. Hi all, I have a Qnap TS-870 that we use for storing backups, its been fine for years. Recently i've noticed that it's slowly been running out of storage space (20TB). Today i have only 577GB left....... i assumed that once the backup had expired, they would be deleted......jobs a good un(this is how it's worked in the past). However, i decided the manually delete some older backups that have expired that are no longer needed..... It seems that even though files are being deleted, the qnap isn't reclaiming the "free space". I've had a look on the Qnap forums, lots of peeps seem to have silular issues. I have full admin permissions and i'm able to SSH into it.... just no idea what to do next as it all "looks fine". Any ideas?
  15. I got excited when i first saw this image as its shows that maybe the switches are stacked.... although in the tech data, nothing to suggest it is possible.
  16. I've got my eyes on these: https://store.ui.com/collections/unifi-network-switching/products/unifi-switch-aggregation-pro

  18. might be v90 of chrome had a reply from cpoms; Good Afternoon, We have some reports today – Wednesday 21st April that Google Chrome is serving some users with a ‘Deceptive site ahead’ warning as they try to access their CPOMS page. This is the same warning that we believe Google incorrectly applied in 2019 which they later removed on the same evening. We want to assure users that there is nothing wrong with CPOMS and that it is functioning normally. In order to access your site as normal, please use Internet Explorer / Edge etc (Windows Users) and Opera (Mac Users). We are doing everything we can to expedite a resolution from Google and will seek to have the warning removed as soon as is practically possible. In the meantime we want to apologise for any inconvenience caused and reassure you that CPOMS can be accessed as normal via the browsers noted above.
  19. I've reported it to cpoms...... we also updated to chrome v90 not sure if its related
  20. Thread Zombie! Just started getting this.
  21. Do you guys have wsus send driver updates to your client machines, or is that a mad thing to do? Click on "drivers" in the category selection area.....now have lots of drivers pending approval......... but everything works at the moment
  22. Thanks i'll have a look at this
  23. Hi all, I'm after a way to be able to view what permissions/access each role has to the modules in bromcom. A comparison chart would be best. At the moment i'm having to either run a report on the roles and permissions (each role individually, 30 pages) or via the roles & permission setup page. Again i have to view this individually. I want to compare permissions we have in SIMs vs the default ones in Bromcom. I suspect i'm going to have to create custom roles. Without knowing what role has what access to each module in bromcom, i'm working blind. thanks
  24. Our power plan (forgive the name)
  25. Yeah, we have this issue with the windows laptops.... what about setting a GPO to "shutdown" laptop if lid is closed...... ideally, shutdown and apply updates if that an option We use ABtutor to shutdown machines and apply updates..... think the other classroom management stuffs allows this. not sure what you're using.
