It appears we are entitled to 2 days unpaid for a domestic incident (which a berevement of a dependant comes under). Under our previous Head, I got a week off when I had to travel up to Scotland to deal with my grandmothers death since I was the executor (and it was a bit hard to talk to the undertakers and get all the certificates processed via phone)

That looks like the Elite HUD we had for the spectrum

Ah well at least I can watch the end of the current series of Gold Rush now that Sky and Discovery made a deal. -
Below is a quick snippit of how we get the OU set in our script $ListOfAccounts=IMPORT-CSV \\server\scripts$\manual.csv -Header ("LastName","FirstName","Gender","Password","YearGroup","TutorGroup","EnrollNo","Username","EntryType","FileServer") FOREACH ($Account in $ListOfAccounts) { $path = "OU=" + $Account.EntryType + ",OU=Students,OU=XXX,OU=Establishments,DC=XXX,DC=internal" New-ADUser -Name $Account.Username ` -Path $path ` }

We use a scheduled task to run a SIMS report each morning that exports students on roll, and student leavers. a few minutes later we have a powershell script that then reads the on roll CSV, checks the AD to see if their admission number already exists. If it does it updates any information that might have changed since the previous day (names, tutor group etc). If a number is not found it stores that and at the end of the CSV it then creates the new users accounts on the correct server (including creating the home folders & permissions) then e-mails the tutor that students logon details. Any leavers that are detected are added to a "Leavers" group and disabled (plus moved to a different OU) During the day we have another powershell script that runs hourly that updates O365 for any unlicenced users that are AD Sync'd. If the account matches a student or staff account, it sets the licences/mailbox policies as required.

We also use BGInfo to set all wallpapers. Normally it is a plain background with username/computer name, but we do roll out different themed ones every now and then.

What solution are you guys using for OS deployment these days?
Boredguy replied to localzuk's topic in O/S Deployment
We've used MDT for a few years, and use the Database intergration so that as long as the MAC address and basic info is entered in the first time, the stations automatically get named and put into the correct OU every other time with no intervention from us needed once we select the lighttouch boot image. -

Boredguy replied to newpersn's topic in TV & Movies
Yes they are old, but the ones on Discovery HD are the new ones (but not quite as good as the earlier ones) -

How high do you mount your IWB's or dry wipe boards...
Boredguy replied to kennysarmy's topic in Hardware
The bottom of our older 78" boards are normally installed around 900mm from the floor, but we also invested in a lot of height adjustable board (mainly for the short throw projectors) but even they only get lowered for us to clean the filters. -
Calm down, Calm down

Do we still need a mapped S:\Sims drive with Solus3?
Boredguy replied to TwistedHelixis's topic in MIS Systems
If your connect.ini is pointing directly to your database, then there is not really a need to map the drive for most users. Some will still need access for Timetabling, exams and returns though. -
Is this your opinion or the Lions
