  1. How about edugeek plates?
  2. There was a terrible incident at the local chippy, a cod got battered.
  3. This, Or suck it up and use Notepad++ | 5.8.3
  4. Ahh, connecting to windows update might be an issue without a working network card.
  5. Have you tried plugging it in and then running windows update via internet explorer. This sometimes will find drivers. If not I'd peel the Belkin sticker off and see if there's a generic chip underneath.
  6. Eat before you leave home, it's the only way to leave enough room for the pub lunch.
  7. This, but you should also talk to your local broadband consortium. It might be last time they changed something on your router the changes weren't saved, so they disappeared when the kit was rebooted.
  8. The Nikon 50mm 1.8 doesn't have a focusing motor in the lens so won't autofocus on the d3100.
  9. If you phone them and say you're interested in site licencing the might even send you a single copy. We've got it here, it's not bad. However I can't see an option to export flash video for embedding in web sites.
  10. Another good trick for getting a nice bloat free driver might be to uninstall all the realtek stuff. Plug the netbook into the network run Windows Update from Internet Explorer and see if it offers you wireless drivers.
  11. What sort of netbook? Are you using Window's built in wireless manager or the one made by the wireless card manufacturer. Windows is always the way to go. What type of security are you using? Are you configuring the laptops localy or pushing out settings from GPO. Are you using the latest drivers?
  12. My brother is a medical coder. For anyone who doesn't know what they do, they produce a standardised record of everyone's trip to hospital. He has to deal with this all the time.
  13. Our finance office phoned up asking what was a Toshiba Satellite Pro and did we order it. I told them it was an intergalactic communications device.
  14. How about a printer server and a small switch?

    camcorders

That could be it, I had to encode a longish video into DV and by the end the audio was out of sync.
  16. I'm already half way there. I think I'd head for mainland europe, once you're there it's fairly easy to move around.

It could also be some sort of NTSC/Pal muddle.
  18. Another two to look at Rechargeable Batteries | Battery Chargers | Camera Batteries | Battery Charger | Camera Battery | Rechargeable Battery Hills Components UK
  19. AB Tutor is another. It's not free though, it's about £200 - £300 per classroom.
  20. I saw Radiohead in Oxford at South Park. You'll expect it to be quite sombre and serious (especially since they'd just released Kid A). Nothing of the sort, Thom Yorke was hilarious. Also helped they had a great bunch of support acts, bouncing up and down to Supergrass with 10,000 other people was wonderful. EDIT: Also two encores. The first was three songs finishing with Paranoid Android. As he started singing what we thought was would be last verse of the last song of the night the heavens opened. To make it even more apt the words he was singing at the time were "Rain down on me from a great height". Now depite the fact the audience were rapidly going from slightly damp to positively soggy he came back on and sung Creep.
  21. Thanks guys. EDIT: It was a contractor.
  22. I've been advised to setup Zone transfer on our DNS servers, and I'm really struggling to understand why. They're all Server 2003 server on the same domain and all DCs. Since they're already working in Active Directory integrated mode there's already a mechanism for DNS records to replicate between the servers. Or am I missing something?
  23. The Nikon uses a motor in the lens. Higher end Nikon models have a motor built into the body however this isn't used if the lens has it's own motor. This does mean that the D3100 isn't compatible (well the lens will work but with no AF) with some older Nikon lenses that don't have a motor built in. If you're planning to buy run of mill lenses this isn't a big issue. The Nikon Vs Canon Vs Sony thing is very much like Mac Vs Windows Vs *nix. One isn't better then the other, it's down to what you find right. Don't just compare the spec, go and try the cameras. I bought Nikon over Canon because the Nikon in my price range felt right in my hand, the Canon didn't.
  24. Nikon D3000 Lens Kit (18-55mm VR) from £334.00, UK Specialist Price Comparison Site, Camera Price Buster You can do better then £350. Just bare in mind the D3000 is a fairly out of date camera. It uses the same sensor as the older D40X and D60.
  25. Yep, although the 450D is being phased out. It's been replaced by the 500D which has been moved down a peg by the arrival of the 550D. Have you also looked at the new Nikon D3100? I'd go and try both cameras before choosing.
