  1. @%1;CyberNerd I've tested this through my NG and it seems fine. Just remind me, G2 or G3? And would you mind archiving your guardian settings/policies and sending them to me please. I think you have my email. Daren
  2. I'm working on it. I'll let you know what I find. If you can PM me your specifics in the meantime. DT
  3. Daily fail strikes again. Will they ever actually write something worth reading? Probably not....

    What Do You Drive?

It was a Wolf MIG 135a, came with Gas, wire, torch tips, mask (rubbish) and a few other bits. I got a fresh mask as the one in the kit was horrendous. It uses disposable gas bottles - these can be got from ebay or even halfords. I use co2/argon mix now as it gives a better weld. DT

    What Do You Drive?

Thats pretty much what I did.... bit of old scrap metal to practice on. I spent £160 on a kit from ebay, it's sufficient for what I do. There are plenty of online tutorials, I looked at some MIG ones and it helped me improve my technique. It's far from perfect, but it gets me by. DT

    What Do You Drive?

First skill you learn as a LR owner is welding.... and lots of it! Still, they're a damn good bus if you can put in the maintenance hours. I've got some 220tdi bits if you require them - rear wiper motor etc. DT

  10. No, not at all. You have to set an authentication exception on the smoothwall for the exchange server. DT
  11. Hey boolyn, give us a call on 0113 387 4160 and have a chat with one of our guys. They'll be able to give you a good idea of price for comparison. If you have any tech questions feel free to ask on here. Darren
  12. No, I don't think so. the outlook traffic shouldn't even be hitting the smoothie as the server is internal. Could you Pm me a rough diag of your setup? DT
  13. You could try adding your exchange IP to the destination exceptions list under Guardian>Web Filter policies>Exceptions. Is the SWG set as default gateway for your clients? DT

    The M5 crash

Yep, because any system is only as good as the person who programmed it, and where there are humans, there is error....

    The M5 crash

I certainly think that this was a pretty unavoidable incident once the first vehicle 'tatered it. 0 visibility, even slowing to 50 would have helped little. But once thing I'm certain of is this: We've all seen people driving like lunatics, tailgating doing 80 in the rain, fog, snow etc. They are out there, and we all know it. Sometimes it just doesn't matter how careful you are, or how slowly you drive, #### just happens. It's not down to us to judge or blame, but there's nothing that says we can't debate, even have conflicting opinions. So, seriously, neg repping because someone's opinion is different from yours!?! Motorway, fog, smoke, speed - #### will invariably happen! Remove all of the above variable factors and people still manage to cause issues. I'm completely indifferent - as I'm sure are most of you. I can see 'reasons' why things like this happen, but I can also see how this could be absolutely unavoidable. DT

    The M5 crash

A: The general public's inability to correctly adapt their driving technique to the given road conditions.

    The M5 crash

I agree, however an accident a number of years ago on the m6 (I think) was in similar circumstances (said bonfire smoke instead being fog) and the contributing factor there was drivers being unable to see well enough ahead to be able to stop. MK-2 has a very valid point - people generally do not adjust their driving speed to match the conditions. That is not pointing the finger, just a mere observation without blaming any one. DT
  18. Patience, and/or brute force I'm afraid. spray with WD40 and tap gently with a hammer - this may loosen the muck a little - it's then applying just the right amount of pressure so as not to round it off, and keeping it applied until it starts to shift. Took me 2 hours alone on mine..... one whole tin of WD and a pound weight hammer, just tapping away, but it went eventually. try tightening slightly (1/16th turn) before loosening. DT
  19. They're not too difficult to fabricate. But due to the horrendous coking of the valve parts usually get stuck (fused almost) on a monumental scale
  20. the number of holes is purely down to the manufacturer. As long as you're putting a solid gasket over it, it doesn't really matter. Have you checked the dreaded auction site? there may well be some blanking plates for sale - you could find out what material is preferred for the plate. Capping the vacuum valve may to some extent do the trick, but a sealed blanking plate just ensures that it is properly and physically closed. There are a million and one ways to do it - it's just a matter of what you have time to do. DT
  21. Not for an EGR valve, Exhaust Gas Temp reaches 200+ degrees, so burning cardboard is no problem. I used 2mm mild steel - the alu from a coke can is rather thin and I can't imagine it lasting very long. DT
