  5. Hi All, We have just received a batch of Windows 10 Pro tablets that come with the Office App Word Mobile, Powerpoint, Excel installed as part of the build, we are a primary school and have a Microsoft EES agreement which we subscribe to. The office app wants to be linked to a users email account for full functionality which we do not use individual emails for pupils so can we use the app? or do I need to sign up the school for Office 365, and is it free for primary schools? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

  10. I look after some Primary Schools, and we have used Sims (Onsite) Bromcom and we have just had 2 of my schools move to Scholarpack from Bromcom and they are really impressed with it. SIMS is supposed to available for online now and I would like to get my 2 remaining schools to move to the cloud either with Sims or another MIS but they are stuck in their ways and with Sims so it could be a battle.
  11. The metal on the corners will be the galvanised skim bead sometimes they rust due to underlying damp problems, and after remedial work the painter will paint gloss or a damp proof paint to prevent the damp from coming through the new coat of paint and causing it to break up. If a damp proof paint has been used before then your coat could take longer to dry and it may take a couple of extra coats to match it all up.

    Which Tablets

The supplier only offered Win10 home and when I spoke to Linx they said they were awaiting a restock and also a newer model was coming out. Hopefully they will get back to me when in stock.

    Which Tablets

Thanks RichCowell yes I thought that the quote said Home and I thought I would check with Linx Tech and they said drivers have become an issue for some when they come with home and then the user re-installs pro or Edu and they recomend that they do the build with Pro or Edu for the end user, so that why i turned down the quote. Want 40+ of these tablets.

    Which Tablets

Been looking at this as well, had a quote for the Linx device but they came with W10 home so declined the quote, discussed with the Sales rep at Linx and they hope to have some Linx 10v with W10 Education version online sometime soon. Looked at the Acer Switch but they said it won't run Pro or Edu. Its seem unless schools are prepared to pay £300 + for a 2 in 1 tablet then they are difficult to find and it looks like the Education market just isn't big enough for some manufacturers. Avantis do a W10 tablet but again it comes with Home. Anyone have any other suggestions it would be appreciated. Must be Windows though. Just had this sent to me from Linx.
  18. Hi All, I am looking for a Tablet that will run the Lexia Core 5 App, preferably Android based, does anyone have the Core 5 App successfully running on a reasonably priced Android tablet we need to 42 tablets. According to Lexia Learning tech specs state they run on Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 and Nexus 7 but I guess this info is no longer up to date. So if anyone any recommends that I could look at it would be helpful. Thanks
  19. Maybe Schoolsbroadband would like to comment on the negative feedback as we are going through the same transition and obtaining quotes.
  20. Been working with it a couple of days now and adapted the AUP wording for what the headteacher wanted installed as local policy on each machine as we don't have that many PC's Works great and does what's required. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
  21. Thanks. We moved anyway.
  22. Ours is confined to the conservatory its quiet in operation and keeps the windows clear. By keeping the doors shut while your out during the day with the unit in the problem area you should see a change in the the moister build up but because its your bedroom and you will be adding warm air(excuse the pun) into the room at night, it just condenses onto the surface of the cold glass. Maybe your Fakro skylight isn't thermally up to the job. Your roof tiles should have vents in them to allow air to circulate and prevent moister buildup. It was requirement for our loft conversion to have the vents with the Velux windows. Have a look here at various dehumidifiers Cheap Dehumidifiers | Buy Commercial & Domestic Dehumidifiers Online
  23. We use a dehumidifier its on all the time drying our laundry in the conservatory. Next to nothing in electric consumption and cost. Well worth it in my opinion.
  24. Since when has Facebook been an educational resource. Oh! I forgot, that famous line, "I read it on Facebook" just something else to avoid as far a I am concerned.
