I went into seclusion on my final year projects and assignment periods at Uni, Literally locked myself in the spare bedroom for about 18 hours a day for a fortnight at a time, while completing a consultancy project, then writing it up and notating it all, same for assignment hand ins, only relief I got is that I can revise the night before for a lot of exams so booktime was kept to a bare minimum with the stuff I had to study (Human Resource Management) Some kids don't have a clue so my response is also a LOL Work will hit them hard by sounds of it.

one single machine for us on the laser cutting machine we have (only drivers available for the device need XP and a parallel printer port, it wont work with 7 at all I tried all ways to get it to work) - irony being one year later they changed to USB based cutters and would have given us no issue, but this one machine is going to be locked in that format for foreseeable future.

game are circling the plughole again I think - I hate how in both HMV and this shop PC gaming is like a dirty word, they got rid of it in HMV and have just a single rack of it in the local Game Maplin - I think that they will be around for a bit, they fill the niche of a couple of fields sound equipment / electronics and replaced shops like Tandy/Radio Shack though they are expensive for some things Smiths is another wierd one I think thats quite right that they will be concession only stands eventually, our local one here gave away its upstairs floor space to the main town post office and I personally think that book days are numbered, but hardbacks even more at the prices these places charge.

Looking at the locality here, I wish local authorities would stop with the trying to squeeze every penny out of you for parking on streets and lay by's it makes town a no go area and puts people off I believe (local authority has the audacity to put meters by these bays to charge people 50p for 20 mins of parking in a short stay bay), at the same time though my town centre has a problem with landlord companies charging well over the odds for retail units. It sums it up here when the Disney store that we had is set to close shortly in our main town shopping centre, because its rent and rates are too high to the point where it isn't competitive to be open according to its manager when we were in there the other day, he told us in the two years they have been here they were getting crucified by costs which had doubled on renewing their initial lease. Local satellite towns and areas to us outside of our council, have much better shopping areas as a result with ample free parking, yet we have an authority here, that just doesn't get it.

I can believe them going bust, I popped in one in Birmingham the other day and the format basically was the same as any other store, in that DVDs and Blu-Rays that have been out for years are still trying to be sold for about £4-7 a piece, whereas the new stuff was about 12 for a DVD and a bit more for the blu-ray. Shop locally is always busy, but then in a large unit here, you have 5 tills total and only ever about 3 people serving customers. Feel for the people working there same as Jessops, they pay for management mistakes really in operating.

I am the same, grew up with Dogs, budgies, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, fish but all I can have now is Fish, as wife is too nervous around "unknown" dogs (tolerates my parents dog without a problem) and a baby just around the corner means that its on hold a few years at least now my master plan, to make my mrs non-fearful of dogs and own a lovely family pet

I am not suprised by this, sadly this is to be expected I thought given the nature of camera phones fulfilling most needs for the average person. SLR cameras and more specialised stuff will always be around but not a retailer it seems with decent photography people now, but at the same time I cannot help but think that this seems to be a bit of a "declining market" for the "generic" camera in general.

nah, im done with farming, be it rep or mats, I tried loads of things as well over the last couple of months to try and keep me interested, but it has not worked at all well, I started playing this game alli and was in some very decent raiding guilds and friends, switching to horde as I tired of outlands alliance being quite childish, again raiding in some nice guilds, friends now have all pretty much given up the game now, the game lost some of its lustre for me in Cataclysm and MoP has only made that worse I think, looking back even now, I think I made the right decision for me and my family, which cant be a bad thing (I played to quite the excess over my time forming quite an unhealthy relationship with the game I think looking back)
