I'm Probably the only person excited by this but...
rich_tech replied to ICTDirect_Dave's topic in General Chat
I am of the He-man, Thundercats, Centurions, Transformers, Visionaries, Ulysses 31, Mazinger Z, Robotix, Inhumanoids, M.A.S.K., Dungeons and Dragons and X-Men(not the redone anime style junk) generation here, cant say that crap like Ben 10 my nephew watches compares to that stuff these days. -

I had the original Metroplex transformer when it was released first time round, brings back some memories there, primarily of cartoons being much, much better then than now. -
I know people locally doing a similar thing than this, in Llanrhidian on the Gower, they have a consortium working to install proper fibre to the local area after BT basically said that "2mbps" (which was very ropey) was the best they were going to get and they werent going to upgrade anything further for those people, because of the geography of the area and the exchange location.

Seems to be very creepy, esp when you tie it in with their patents regarding scanning how many people you have in front of TV this, the locking off of games was to be expected though, considering the console makers hate the whole "second hand resale" market. Only thing I think it will do being too far OTT with this RL DRM is stop people being interested in the video games.

Wish I had got the Nexus 4 as im a big fan of google, I can't say I would have the bravery to hack my own sim card, knowing my sausage fingers and awesome manual dexterity, I know I would be the one to rip the chip off the card.

The thing is, the highway code basically teaches safe driving, a lot of people don't choose to follow that, things like Sharp breaking - I would wager if it wants to see how often you break sharply, i.e if your a tailgater and doing it regularly, not leaving enough room between you and the car in front of you, whereas it would expect a minimum amount of sharp breaking i.e. if someone pulls out in front of you sharpish or someone walks out into the road which are obviously unavoidable. I would wager most of them have minimum amounts where they consider normal on there, rather than one time over raise the insurance. I am all for the drive over 100mph on a public road and get cancelled though, personally I would like capping it dependent on the road speeds also there as I don't know who thinks its a great thing doing 50 in a 30 and likewise. I am all for reforming new driver stuff too in UK, i.e. no carrying passengers after you pass your test for a period

virgin are pretty good at providing the speeds they advertise from my experience as a cable based customer, not sure about the contentions and ADSL offerings though.

That would be nice, but at punishment level in Rugby, there is never a massive amount of consistency it seems when it comes to meeting out punishments.

Congratulations to you both, lovely news. sub 18 days to go for me and the wife here, cant wait (the last month seems the longest of all to us)

considering it was right in front of the ref, I found it hard to believe he did nothing at the time. I am not surprised at the citing, definitely should be cited for that, it was a moment of sheer stupidity/lunacy/thuggery on his part there I felt, lucky no one was badly hurt for that. He could have ruled himself out of the Lions with that,

Wait...am i on to something here? (Kyocera Printers)
rich_tech replied to Little-Miss's topic in General Chat
We have started to use recycled here on our non-managed printers now, where we have exhausted the stock the previous tech had in place before I started (huge amount of toners in stock for lots of printers - some of which we dont even have any more) wouldnt fancy them on colour printers though, ours are all monotone that get recycled toners installed, no issues or complaints so far. -
Waiting for junior to make his entrance here in the next 3/4 weeks, had a mad few weeks of a nesting wife demanding a nursery though ! had to redecorate the entire house and paint it all, which I hated but at the same time I am glad its done now Can't wait now Feeling so much better as well now that I gave up World of Warcraft 6 weeks ago and limit my IT time outside of work, getting out and about more too which is better by far now Tempted to get a rasp pi and play with it, but it would only be thrown to one side when junior arrives

It is a very strange problem we are seeing, I have referred it back to buffalo support, because I cannot see how its an issue with how we have the network, we use the same build, only have 3 types of PC on site, have everything turned off firewall wise internally on our network, all machines are using the same image, it just plainly works and maps fine for some staff and refuses to for others.
-
resign yourself to picking it up from the Depot ? or is the depot miles away ?
-
It is a very strange error that we are seeing occur here, some of the PCs when rebuild with MDT can see it no problem here, it appears to be fairly random in occurance for us and all machines on site bar a few broadcoms, have Intel Network Cards of a same standard.

sounds like something that you can expect a hotfix for sharpish there then

I dont know, I am back on facebook for the time being, pretty much because the wife is expecting any day now, but when the babys here, I think ill leave the site again, I think its absolute spam filled ca*k in all honesty, I dont have people who I work with on my friends list on facebook and that is the way that it will stay with me, my profile is pretty much locked down, I dont allow any apps on there and only friends of friends can actually search for me on there, working in a school made me v. security concious with my online data really. Twitter is personal all the way with me, I tend to follow a lot of people that I dont know (few exceptions for RL people) but find funny/interesting or amusing really, I am quite restrained in my use of social media though I believe too, nothings on a feed with me that I would be overly embarassed about Google+ I like the look of this and its growing, nice to see a media site that turns everything off at default and puts you in charge of sorting your security out.

rich_tech replied to woodham's topic in General Chat
thats fair enough, it is a bit of a personal pet hate of mine when your trying to find a specific music video though and keep getting peoples often badly made alternatives -
Storage Options DIY Home CCTV 500GB DVR 2 Camera Kit | Ebuyer.com - Check out ebuyer theres a page full of different CCTV solutions on there that may fit the purpose, check out their reviews on there, as they are a fairly good indicator of whether the product is decent or not usually

Dash Mounting a Nexus 7 - KITT/Night Rider Fans Take Note!
rich_tech replied to Netman's topic in General Chat
if only it spoke like KITT -
I can believe that a lot of it is for show though, it seemed obviously staged when it featured on the BBC, I would wager that its "Top Students" only to face the cameras Does seem to be an interesting idea though, possibly a trailblazer in terms of schools for their area, though costs must have been pretty eye-watering.

dont personally think its a bad thing or a good thing, youtube has gone too much on the adverts lately I think though, might help filter the ca*k on there if anything, so its possibly good. When you want to view a video of an artist for example its v. frustrating to find a link and then have a badly done cover of some tone deaf halfwit using a webcam thinking hes going to be a star instead of the real thing your looking for. -
been using it a while now at work on a desktop, I like it a lot, bit further on than 2010, looks nice and clean when your using it too

I am still using the stationary bagged last year here in the office, take a bag as a precaution to put all the free stuff in
