I thought the same about Android, I have used a 710 Nokia several times here when phone has been playing up and wondered that about the device. I cant abide Windows Phone in its current format with the metro like interface, shame because Nokia are actually making some pretty decent looking devices now after a fair few anonymous years.

not considering using power over ethernet stuff instead of running cable ? only reason I ask is the obvious mess generated with the trunking and making of holes around the house, I did the same where I am now and wouldnt bother again, such a lot of hassle, you can get poe adapters that accomodate more than one ethernet cable now as well, some come with 4 port adapters

I cant help but feel nintendo dropped the ball in recent years with the WiiU and 3DS, interesting point made by Haggis though about price of online gaming, mobile platforms are starting to take off a bit now I think, it will end up with only the big boys like Sony bucking the trend here, largely because of the more adult natured games, nintendo have long been a bit too childish for me and all cute and cartoony.

Just spent on this, cost about £6 in the UK for the minimum bid to get all the games, lots of decent enough games to warrant a few quid being donated for charity and you can even specify weighting on the donations with the charities, if there are some listed that you find not so favourable, I recommend it !

I was with web fusion aeons ago for hosting and I found them expensive, though I was naive back then and did not know what I was after in a web hosting package, so avoided them afterwards, but I remember then it was a minimum term job with their hosting. I was with 123-reg for years though as they were one of the cheapest registrars around, though they got bought out by them I think a little over a year ago now, nothing has changed much for me with 123-reg, though I notice since webfusion bought them out, your now inundated with addons and extra purchase options when buying domains now trying to sell you no end of extras.

123-reg is webfusion isnt it ? vps.net is another one that I know of but have not used, I dont have a dedi machine, just a cheap hosting package I pay for here

only just noticed the preview was available for enterprise, I will download it now, but I dont know about putting any sort of beta stuff on my home machine, may try it on work one if I get a chance this holiday

seems a good choice and quite an interesting actor, I think like any of the characters though, hes only going to be as good as the writing, Tennant had some excellent writing behind him, End of Time / Rassilon stuff was all quite excellent way to bring his writing to a close, though a lot of the episodes there were of a higher quality, Matt Smith was a decent enough doctor too I thought, though the writing definitely dipped in quality for me and was not so good I felt for him, episodes devoted way too much to the whole "Rory/Amy/River Song" stuff, though River was quite an interesting character and probably the best of those three.

its an interesting project there, I think its a very impressive forward thinking thing that they have done I feel, especially if it takes off with business users. Makes me want to hold off when my current phone expires in Feb next year now and see what happens with a lot of stuff coming out, I quite fancy this or the Nexus 5 when that makes an appearance instead of apple. Even the Nokia 1020 looks impressive stuff to me though this renewal.

Sorry, to clarify there Dave, I was referring to the films, havent read any comic in years, last series I read was all of the Preacher stuff by Garth Ennis and looking back that was about 12 years ago now . I liked the new batman films compared to the old 90s ones, but for me I think I am generally a Marvel guy overall, my fave DC guy is Green Lantern and the least said about that recent film, the better

Personally, I just cannot stand the inane way we devote endless amounts of TV time to this sort of non-news event, the bbc used to be decent really, but I can't help but feel its gone superbly downhill in quality over the last ten years now

Ability and experience counts for so much more than the dreaded "pieces of paper" I personally think when it comes to job, their essentially benchmarks of a certain applicable standard, most people on here will know people who have degrees and all the professional qualifications coming out of their ears, but cannot do simple things like basic fault finding then, be it in a hardware scenario or a scripting/coding scenario, (I worked with a guy who was a full on MCSA and even he managed to turn off all external mail forwarding on the exchange server of a massive client, which took it down for about 4 hours one day). I am similar to what you quote here in the sense that my degree is in Human Resource Management (I had little interest in doing a CIPD after uni or an MBA, just did not fancy getting into even more debt and wanted to get back into full time work as I was getting married on leaving uni) IT paperwise I have an Advanced GNVQ in IT, I don't fear trying stuff new either or asking questions if im unsure, googles your friend, but I do also have a lot of work experience having worked as a Computer Hardware Engineer and looked after several small businesses as well which I retain to this day. Most people wanting to employ you would try and suss out your technical abilities more than anything else if your CV attracts them, doing things like developing a checkable portfolio of work or ensuring that you have people happy to give you good written references for your work, can be very beneficial in the long run if you do not have the specific "paper" to back up the field you want to be working in I have found.

you always kind of knew that RT was a dead platform walking when it was announced. I genuinely think that price is the biggest thing killing this platform for M$, the device is expensive, then the "optional" keyboard/cover which features hugely in the adverts is making it even more expensive as an option.
