88 and a half now, I like kun lai too, seems to be a nice expansive area to me and I like the way that quests are all local to a "hub" rather than travelling across map for an item then back again like in wotlk

Isnt that refreshing that you can level a profession to max without any massive gold sink ? I have levelled Herbalism (makes sense on a tauren given the racial) which as a gatherer isnt going to cost anyway and Inscription I have levelled to max here with no effort at all (Just need a massive amount of mats now for my epic feral druid staff) I nearly collapsed in shock a while back myself when blizzard gave out the "Remote AH / Guild Chat" feature for free, given their attitude is "If we can squeeze some cash out of the punter" we will, it must have been a feature that only 6 people paid for prior to it being given free, saying that though, theres no end of "mounts/companions for sale" now on the blizz store, so their maxing out the revenue everywhich way they can apart from selling gold directly, which they wont ever do I believe.

I so far have done jade forest and valley of the four winds, think im going to give kasarang a miss and go kun lai summit next though.

We use the feature built into Impero here and turn off our site after the school closes and power everything up about 7:30 in the mornings here so windows updates can take place

I am halfway through 87 now, hoping to get a levels worth of levelling done tonight now to hopefully hit 89/90 by friday/saturday all going well. I see more hotfixes this morning to make it a bit easier to aoe tank again, which is good, because thats the thing I was finding a bit frustrating tanking in bear, the whole "active" mitigation thing hasnt sold me on it, the rage cost is too high on the ability for me to make it part of the rotation for me, adding in the fact that you have to threat generate constantly now, even saving rage, its a very high cost at 55 rage to warrant using I think. I am not sure about other mechanics, because I have only tanked on warr and druid since the 5 patches landed and the talents changed. @ZeroHour you know world of warcrack loves you and wants you back

your guild has been sold to me (thats what me and my mate look for in a guild tbh), shame your all filthy alliance dogs

We use alice here, when I started at this school, it hadn't been managed properly and had a fair amount of problems because of this, things like students being duplicated and in incorrect classes and year groups on the system, because the previous technician failed to follow most of the basic setup guides on it, now after a year of getting to grips with everything at the school it seems to work fine for us with very little problems or maintenance required, just the usual year end maintenance needed to remove old users and set the new term holidays. I was asked about upgrading us to Oliver, but we dont need it imo here and the librarian agreed, because we are not a massive school and do not have a particularly large library either, so it was not worth the costs for us going forward. Alice isnt bad imo, it just needs to have the user guides followed to work well, we import the users from SIMS doing the import report and that has gone pretty much without a hitch this year (the first year that I have done the proper year end).

Get in touch with Adobe regarding the purchase and I am sure they would give you the serial number for the software.

I am in four winds now, working my way through there, seems nice and expansive so far, bit of trouble in places with PvP but at least on ragnaros if you dont fight back, the plebs generally seem to leave you alone rather than grief you, which is nice. Got to 87 last night and managed to do stormstout brewery and temple of jade serpent, which were fun enough but no one was in any danger of dying at any point really, which to me seems its a bit easy game wise, also got inscription levelled up to max and im already over 600 in herbing as a tauren, just every herb in the lower levels is now grey. If I can avg a level a day (only playing on certain nights here because of a welsh class) and get to 89 before the weekend then at least I can get my druid the trinkets from brewfest to save him some points, I am enjoying Feral as both cat and bear too, seems they have improved the cat bit no end and not made that require a rotation of 15 buttons to dps which is good as far as im concerned and very enjoyable.

carve#2286 on ragnaros alliance -
I found that the Raptor mount used to do that to me when I first started playing, the constant bobbing up and down of that mount used to make me feel pretty rough watching it. Regarding Outland though, I miss Outland too strangely, I like PvP realms and I only had my main characters on that realm until this expansion, though my mate and I have now both left Outland, we both decided about 6 months back to migrate to pastures new for the expansion, because neither of us fancied 4 hour queues to get onto Outland. Blizzard only ever offering transfers to dead realms off there is never ever going to work for that realm, neither is allowing people to transfer to there continuously, so we jumped ship, our guild was supposed to be coming with us, but it looks like a lot now just haven't bothered with the game and have gone for GW2.

I managed to get to a whopping 86 the other day, this levelling experience is enjoyable so far, ragnaros doesnt compare to outland for attitude of the opposing factions, people leave each other alone so far, cant see me being done at the rate im playing by the time brewfest ends though, we will see.

It does placate a little reading that, just wish there was a google maps app available now, it worked bloody well and I am now left with some grey pixellated sludge of a field when locating my house (I live about .5 of a mile from the local town centre here in an urban area), why they even chose to take this decision with a product that was so obviously not ready I do now know, considering that things like "Find iPhone" rely on decent mapping and "Find Friends"

theres plenty of threads here about the pitfalls of using laptops in a school, it ups maintenance costs and time primarily is one of the complaints, add in things like "dropping them" "losing them" and so on

Got a horde monk to level 12 and joined the horde on tarren mill to see what its about, seems a bit roguey to me so far and only had 4 abilities so I have parked that for now. Started levelling up my druid last night for about 10 minutes, have a lot going on here with one of my mates weddings this weekend, so playtime will be limited, I cannot work out yet where I learn the new level of professions from are there new trainers or do I need to go back to orgrimmar ? as I couldnt see any new levels on the trainers in orgrimmar before I departed for pandaria

lol, I am usually resetting that screen when the kids do that because the teacher reports it as a problem with the screen

Personal cloud storage for staff and students?
rich_tech replied to Max_Power's topic in General Chat
With regards the usb sticks, I need to clarify, I meant about staff lugging things like their teaching presentations and video clips around here, We tell them as regards those documents to make sure they have them on the network for backing up, not confidential data. -
Personal cloud storage for staff and students?
rich_tech replied to Max_Power's topic in General Chat
With regards dropbox and all the third party cloud sites, I know that its off here for all pupils with netsweeper and I think for staff too - I dont think any have ever asked about it either, its only myself and the head of IT who are really that savvy enough to want to use it here, I think most staff here are happy with the old USB stick. Saying that though, we encourage the staff and pupils to use the LEA provided education/school portal, which gives them access to all of their network space documents remotely here. -
lol I was thinking that I wouldnt want to be operated, diagnosed, poked and prodded by production line robots, no caring or empathy there (Ironic to add that bit I know given some of the NHS stuff you see)

caved in and bought it, rerolling on tarren mill too a monk ¬_¬ one char realm ahoy !
-
aye, you can restore data onto any key app if you have the restore details, its designed for restoring your key if you have to reinstall the app on a phone, I had mine in a safe place, but it appears blizzard didnt Probably worth removing and readding a different authenticator to your account in light of that hack, I know my friend got hacked as a result of blizzard getting hacked (he never bothered with any power levelling/gold services and isnt "tech dumb") so regardless of their official line people in UK were affected.

thats the quandry I am in, I have 10 85s over 3 servers, though I wont be playing on outland anytime soon (three hour queues to get on there), but thats my problem, I think I spread myself too thin and get distracted a bit too much by other classes, so I am contemplating rerolling just a single character on a server here at the moment and seeing how I go. Only thing I am having trouble finding is a horde based pvp server with a decent amount of population that has a predominantly english speaking community, as theres a fair few "unofficial" foreign language realms which you can mistakingly join and you wont join a guild or get groups unless you know the lingo, at least when I was working through wowprogress yesterday and the forums to try and establish a basecamp for me Its also hard finding a playstyle for a character at the moment that I enjoy, I used to love a shadowpriest up until cata where we were made a bit garbage, and it seems that blizz has had a bit of a penchant for completely redesigning character playstyles with each expansion too, I think I will give it a go though, just gonna hold off a little bit here first until I decide where to reroll from.
-
thats the thing with this expansion, I look at it and unlike previous ones, there is very little in the way of excitement being generated for me personally, it seems very childish (I know the irony of that in a computer game), I am no rabid blizzard fanboy to just blindly accept what they push out as being awesome, the whole "cheapo pokemon, in game farmville and kungfu panda as a cheap ploy to get more of a foothold into the asian market and also get more casual people playing the game" thing doesnt exactly make me scream out "oh yeah I cant wait" that coming on the back of Cataclysm, which in itself was a very poor and half hearted expansion I thought, especially coming on the back of two very good quality expansions like TBC and WOTLK. For me I think I prefer the TBC/WotLK format of expansions to the Cataclysm I would rather have it play out over a bit longer time rather than push junk out every two years, because its going to be interesting to where they take the game forward after this one when we kill Garrosh.

Spiceworks - Hogging resources?
rich_tech replied to Gardinho's topic in Network and Classroom Management
I stuck it on my old work machine for a while and it crippled it, I then stuck it on a redundant server here and it pretty much crippled that, it is a resource hog of a program, not a bad program, but a resource hungry one that's for sure -
Of course there are things that are free and worthwhile in terms of software, actual physical hardware though is not so massively available that I am aware, obviously things like social enterprises, grants and schemes do exist, but in terms of this program last night, it seemed fairly obvious from the interviews featured that the people involved did not carry out a lot of Due Diligence to roll out the buzzword/cliche, it was clear watching it that the people felt pressured or just signed stuff without failing to go through it all I felt, looking at the costs involved with it all seemed to be very excessive, i.e. a photocopier being priced up at £174k should have set all manner of alarm bells ringing for some of the people involved I felt. I am just glad from watching it that a lot of people will get some sort of education of the practices involved, I know a lot of LEAs are issuing guidelines and rules now about leasing of IT equipment, which can only be good going forward.
