I only play on weekends for a couple of hours at the moment, the will just isnt there to play on the weekdays at the moment, as im trying to minimise my IT usage throughout the week now and ease up on it outside of work. But I have to agree, there is just way too much in the way of outages at the moment for the game.
  4. I would be wary of HP laptops, several models have known overheating issues (as my sister found out with hers and a friends daughters burntout) and HP have had a few class actions against them in america because of these issues and the failures associated with them, that being said their laptops are nice enough, but I would say consider that when buying one, google the model before you buy one and see if there are known issues.
  5. That is a quality victorian laptop ! Ebuyer arent bad and have dealt with any problems I have had in the past without any quibbles (admittedly as a consumer - a few years back I ordered stuff for a new PC, the mobo, cpu and ram were all dead, they took the returns without any issue)

think thats why I have kind of lost interest in this, though the sun and RL has gotten in the way also, I basically as a barb on normal and it was basically "cleave, cleave, cleave, seismic, seismic, seismic with stun enabled" all the way through, wished I rolled something else on the first character now, because this game seems more repetitive and the barb is just too squishy as it is. The thought of going through that again on a higher difficulty level just doesnt hold a lot of sway for me either, WoW is bad enough with repetition, but diablo seems an infinitely smaller game by comparison, not less fun to play in all this, just seems more grindy to me because its much more linear to play through.
  7. I initially installed 11.10 on a school machine to recover data from a broken NAS box we had, then upped it to 12.04, before taking the plunge on my home machines, from my pov and comparatively to the "dreaded" windows, unity wasnt that bad, it looked ok and I had ubuntu tweaks installed also to get some extra options, but when trying other distros, it just lacked options I thought. Linux has been good fun so far though, I like researching and solving stuff, it was a real pig to configure to get internet access through our LEA provided ISA proxy, I discovered even when using a distro that has proxy features, it doesnt necessarily mean that its going to work similar to windows, had to master ntlmaps quite fast, home wise its installed and worked out of the box without issue, things like Wine and playonlinux have got around any other problems so I can play world of warcraft/diablo3, but I am finding this technology far from boring and coming from a windows background, its actually enjoyable fiddling and tweaking bits of the OS to suit my own ends and love that everything im looking at so far, is free.
  8. +1 for VLC here, excellent software.
  9. switched to this from ubuntu, makes for a much better OS for me (just couldnt get used to unity really)
  10. its always been that way in France I believe, I remember reading a while back, if you were caught with a radar detector you would get fined heavy and police would make you destroy it
  11. I have the superhub here, I have never had a problem with it since installation, wireless is crowded in my area though, I am one of about 10 ssids on scanning, works though without much drama here, you have to fiddle a bit with it though from what I recall, turning some settings off to improve it a bit.
  12. I have looked after avaya stuff in the past and it was indeed excellent stuff
  13. Rebuilt my PC with linux mint 13 yesterday morning, then cooked a lovely barbecue in the afternoon (spent a good while marinating food in the morning) and managed to sunburn myself lightly too, thankfully it doesnt hurt, just have that nice red glow to me
  14. Thanks for all your input, ive gone for a nice Benq 24" monitor after much deliberation, cant wait until delivery some time next week, no way was I paying a £10 for delivery !
  15. idd it is at the moment, though I keep adjusting the man/woman ratio by storing "computer stuff" around there ! I also prefer things that the wife hates, like Black shelving from Ikea for my various models/games and DVDs
  16. Lovely looking setup there, my man cave is half computer room and leather armchair, half dressing table and mirror for the wife here, I am working on it though taking over it more and more
  17. Cant be much in way of changes to be that fast a release
  18. you can run the uninst on your entire site if you have software like impero, this software is awful to the core, same for google desktop.

managed to complete normal as a barbarian for now, trying other classes now instead of getting into nightmare and beyond, barbarian was a bit disappointing to play I found so far, Monk seems fun so far as does wizard, although range seems a little strange to play in this game, because of the static viewpoints and point and click nature of the game to me.
  20. Thanks, I am considering Ilyama, they seem to be very decent, I have two 20" screens in front of me here on my work PC and the picture is quite excellent.
  21. Hello all, I am looking to get a new monitor for my home PC at the end of the month, I am looking to spend around £130, I want to aim for as decent a screen as I can get for the money, at the moment I have a 19" Acer Widescreen Monitor, which has a wierd max screen resolution of 1366 x 768 I believe, obviously thats tiny, so I want a decent resolution capable monitor, that can handle games well (nothing super effects wise, just WoW and Diablo3 type games) I have a decent enough GFX card in that it is HDMI capable also. I ask on here, I have had a look at ebuyer/scan/novatech/overclockers and I generally read reviews more than anything after the specs, though on places like ebuyer reviews either seem to be from the manufacturer or people that go off on a tangent not relating to the product. Also - which is better to go for LCD or LED ?
  22. Thanks for all your comments so far, Gareth has pointed out in previous postings on edugeek, that we already run Impero here and MDT, but its the application rollout and Data Protection Manager stuff that has my interest peaked (were looking at a serious hyper-v platform to replace our existing ten year old RM hardware, amalgamating our applications from seperate servers to a more unified and multi app on a server setup) thats probably the main feature that interests me, application installation looks good because GPO which we use currently for app rollout only tends to work with .msi files and it seems a fair bit of hassle making up an msi file, especially with programs that get updated regularly - Quicktime, Java and Flash being the main culprits there apps wise. Also I am obviously interested in DPM and HyperV elements for backing up the servers and controlling them within the platform we have planned, are there any issues with regards licensing and them ? we have an EES agreement within the school here at present, from what I can see we have access in the licensing side of it to all of the products we need also downloads wise, but im not sure about licensing for using them.
  23. I came across this link earlier trawling the web, its about burnout, I think its worth reading, I know were quite mature and have this kind of stuff under control, but its worth a read at least to recognise some of the symptoms potentially - http://www.linuxformat.com/includes/download.php?PDF=LXF137.burnout.pdf
  24. signed up just now, ill wager screen wipes over air duster type products
