  1. @MGSTech PM'ed.
  2. Everyone here is unfiltered EXCEPT for 'file downloads' and whats on the IWF watch list.
  3. Yep - although our students did take a almost a day though. I did check back to see if they had cheated (Image search) - the winner did confess he'd emailed his father at work who mailed it around the whole office......
  4. We use the logon screen for 'Word of the week', competitons and such like. As mentioned we use TweaksLogon to get the right size / format then use a simple script to copy the images over.
  5. Put the kettle, cups, tea, sugar etc in your car. Then you can always make tea without searching through boxes. Dont forget any pets dishes, bowls, etc. Plan for a takeaway for the next two evenings after your move. MOST IMPORTANT - Clearly mark the boxes where you pack the bedding - and make sure you put them to one side when you move in. AS SOON as the beds are in the new house....MAKE THE BEDS! - believe me you do not want to be hunting for bedding after an exhasting day moving house. At least when you are done (exhasted, fed up, late, etc) you can all just fall into bed. Tough day - you will be totally shattered. So plan for it. BTW - do you have a loft space? garden shed? - just checking!
  6. Anyone else never noticed this before, or am I a bit late........

  8. We do every computer in the school in the holiday. Gives us a chance to tidy things up, replace broken / stolen bits, clean and disinfect mice / keyboards / monitors & more importantly - give the bill for damage to our finance team who automatically deduct the responsible departments budget for September....
  9. Go Extreme. Carrier grade.......nuff said.
  10. System uptime 19d 2h Users 245 Printers 14 Devices 9 Recent errors 0 Recent warnings 1 Total Pages 2,096,803 Pages today 3,191 Hold/release jobs 16 Active user clients 92 Top stuff, but remember - YOU WILL GET MOANED AT.
  11. We have exactly the same issue here (using SLES / OES 11 / ZenWorks 11 PXE boot) and this is the only type of PC that does it. We are just starting to look at why and what we can do to fix it. We have about 150 Clevo L390T's (Previous model) that are rock solid ! We have also found it is the only type that drops the network connection (randomly) when imaging. We have Dlink switches, which we are looking at, we are also looking into changing the NIC settings (within windows / on our imaging OS). Like you, we cant seem to find an updated BIOS - so we'll just carry on until we find a fix or they run EOF.
  12. If they are are, then........ CLEVO - Download Model A9100/A9105 - you'll find all the manuals there too. If you want a service manual - PM me.
  13. Are they these.... http://www.ergo.co.uk/Products/All-in-One-PC/Documents/Ergo_As1_lowres.pdf
  14. Are these machines Clevo A9100's ?.......
  15. I make & cook my own pizza's - including the bases & sauces. The best one so far.......dough base (no sauce whatsoever) lots of strawberries, chicken, goats and mozzarella cheese, and balsamic vinegar. Actually bloomin lovely!
  16. All, I'm looking to open a port - not forward a port to a single IP on the green - but to the whole green network (or range of IP's) Its an internal network inside my network, so no real security issues. Simple RED / GREEN setup...... Any ideas? Thanks, Dave
  17. BAassist here too....
  18. Back everything up. Delete years 7-11 & 13's Home directories. Delete Yr 13 network & email accounts. Delete every video in staff h/Directories & shared areas (we have other methods for that) Move any file/folder over 3 years that has not been accessed to our archive resize every picture down (except Photography) NXPower to compress PDF & office files Dust out every workstation with a compressor Enjoy six weeks with no staff / students Charge wine /beer /fruit /chocolates as payment for retrieving ANYTHING from backup in Sept. Happy Days!
  19. We have 400 hard glass here - Neovo E17 DA's. In 7 years: - 2 monitors cracked (Both accidents), we have replaced about 30 Inverters ourselves (£25-30 each) and we are going to use these again for our next refresh. So, we are looking for at least ten years worth from them......
  20. @sparkeh check out :- URL filter add-on for IPCop and SmoothWall Advanced Proxy add-on for IPCop and SmoothWall
  21. Just asking all those who support networks in schools that have boarders. Ta muchly......
  22. We take every computer & keyboard outside, clean & dust out using one of these. Our cleaners then clean all the desks, mice and screens (all glass fronted) and we put back and image the PC's every summer. September - each dept gets a bill for damages / replacements. Seems to work for us........
  23. Just a few pointers from an ex - floorlayer...... 1) if its 'loose lay vinyl' - take it out of the packaging and try to lay it flat overnight. 2) if its 'loose lay vinyl' - cut slightly short around the edges (It does expand & contract with the temperature!) this will stop it 'bubbling' 3) Silicone seal the edges (white if your skirtings / tiles are white) or clear if not - this will stop water getting down the back AND cover up any cutting that is not as good as it could be! 4) unscrew the pan SLIGHTLY and tuck a little under. Most people will look at the front of the pan and notice any bad cutting! 5) Make sure the Stanley blade is razor sharp - and be really REALLY careful! 6) don't rush....Vinyl will tear easy!
