Sorry to have to break the news that I will not be able to attend I was looking forward to it and hoping that that hippie would not force me to stay in the pub after for an extra couple of hours again like he did last time!!! anyway - I was even prepared to chip in with some stories to help out I had a wonderful session prepared called "Sheds I have Known" to make sure no-one got bored I had even trimmed it down to a 2 hour PowerPoint !!!! but anyway - other things have come up that I can;t skip so I'll have to skip it - and the pub Have a good time everyone!!

To help out the poor wee critters in the colder weather I got a bag of bird feed and put it on the shed roof (where else???) a few days later Amazon are on asking for Feed Back I went to check but it is all gone any advise??? - - - Updated - - - I put my car into reverse this morning for the first time in ages. I thought, this takes me back.

Just been checking through my deleted message and all the dodgy "one time access codes" are from Microsoft Account Team so either someone if trying to get into my microsoft account - which I don;t really use - myself - or the scammer are trying to use that for the scam

Just put 2 and 2 together (STOP don;t panic - a teacher doing maths - don;t worry - I'll be fine) anyway - having seen the above 2FA scam I remembered that we have had several silent and "hang up as soon as you answer" type calls recently also - I have had 2 emails with "one time access" code things - normal stuff - says to ignore it if it wasn;t you so I did BUT - putting the 2 together might mean this scam is more widespread than I originally thought just so you are aware

Just found this on the Manchest Evening News https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/number-you-must-never-give-27906439 There is rather a lot before the important bit but it is one I have not seen before Basically they - somehow - ring you - after just having logged onto the O2 (in this case) web site themselves and saying they have forgotten their password The web site will then send a 2FA message so you can reset your password then they say they are from O2 and to confirm it they will send you a text message which has just arrived - genuinely from O2 They then ask for the code from the message to confirm that you are the account holder which you might , not unreasonably , read out at which point they can jump in and log onto the web site themselves and change your password and get upt o all sorts in this case ordering iphones and nicking them as they are delivered - and you end up with the bill quite clever - if you are not on the alert might be worth passing the word around

Now - if I'm not around for a while then I'm off round the local dog walking businesses looking for a dog like that to walk all over and wait until people ask

I don;t know if this is a phishing thing or not But yesterday I got a 2FA type message with a single use code which is find except that I didn;t ask for it - I just ignored it and today Mrs mikeprice has also got one makes me wonder.........

There was a thing on the news many years ago where the NHS selling injury data to legal companies including - and this is what made the news - data about pregnancy and births which resulted in women who had had still births and babies who didn;t survive long - getting lots of flyers and calls about baby products It was a big scandal at the time and is supposed to have stopped maybe it hasn't?? NOTE - not a political post - please DO NOT reply about political topics!

Many years ago I got round this by implementing a policy of only ever buying socks in large quantities - at least 8 pairs - all identical - at the same time That way when I want to find a pair - pretty much any 2 socks will form a pair recently Mrs mikeprice has chucked a spanner in the works by buying me socks for Christmas - all different colours and patterns PLUS - the VeryPC socks only come in single pairs and not sets of 20 so I am slowly building up a corner of the sock drawer with unmatched socks!!!!

I tried writing my name on my Wallace and Gromit mug But I found it in the Science Prep room some time later and it had been removed clearly ordinary washing removes permanent marker from shiny mugs - but I have suspicions that someone else knows about solvents (note - in that school there were more Chemistry degrees in the IT department - teaching and support - than in the Science department!!!)

Sorry - never heard of them When I was working around here the network comms was looked after by the LEA on the insistence of the Head - so I never had to look around for suppliers - so I can't say anything positive or negative abou tthem

I always wondered about the mugs in my old school staff room They hung around more than teaspoons but still migrated after time especially nice ones - my Wallace and Gromit one never re-appeared even when I put out an appeal Sometimes I thin that mischievous imps and elves must actually exist and move things when we are not looking (and tangle cables that we laid in perfect order - clearly)

Better still they probably won;t last from one year to the next For many years I used the same poppy that I kept in my drawer at work for the rest of teh year and YES - I did put some money in the tin - but if I saw the poppy season starting and I just pinned on the old one then I felt guilty and remembered to donate something I got a metal one last year and it has the year on it to stop people reusing them as easily

After all these years someone finally noticed!!!!! my life is complete!! or - more likely - someone noticed and mentioned it rather than sighing, refusing to take the bait and moved on while desperately trying not to invoke any frog spells (you know who you are!!!)

I presume this was an attempted scam but I have not seen it before I got a text message yesterday which just said "Hello" possibly just looking for active numbers - but worth mentioning just in case

Currently watching Wheel of Time series 2 because we seem to have accidentally ended up with Prime somehow not even sure which one of us did it but the Family link means we both have it I was actually in the middle of binge watching "Spooks" on iplayer which was a bit weird as I had previously binge watched Hustle - and my head did keep wondering why MI5 didn't just ask Ash to fix it. (same actor for those that are unfamiliar with the series - Robert Glenister)

Sending sympathy I sort of assume I have had it at some point but not realised I have tested for it many times but it has always been negative - might have had it and just thought it was hay fever or something maybe just been lucky anyway - hope you feel better soon
