Anything interesting in the logs on the client? I am thinking of client.msi.log for installation problems, ccmeval.log for evaluation problems, ccmexec, ccmmessaging.log for any problems sending messages to server, clientauth.log for issues registering client with server (I seem to remember having an issue with this and win 10), location services.log ...to name a few [emoji3]

I set my ADRs to only deploy current update so every time a new CU comes out it evaluates the updates , removes the old one and adds I the new one.

Given that updates are now cumulative you just need install the latest msi and the latest planned update (and if you fancy, the latest out of cycle update which are is cumulative to the last planned update) http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotes/index.html

You can do it like that, but I don't. I have an ADR for each OS I want to update, that runs once a month and updates the software update group and deployment package with the current, applicable updates. Makes it more simple.

Yes things have changed, IME with 1703 it actually started working. Oh and MS have stated that roaming profiles are not supported (kinda looks like they are stopping support for roaming profiles altogether)

Have you looked at the various updates logs on one of the affected clients? Off the top of my head something like updatedeployment.log and the evaluation log will be useful

Firstly you want to upgrade to SCCM Current Branch not 2012 You can actually perform a migration directly from 2007 to CB: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/migration/migrate-data-between-hierarchies However (and I don't know the complexity of your environment) if I were going from 2007 -> CB I would seriously consider starting again. Migrating from 2008 R2 -> CB caused me no end of headaches and I wouldn't want to go through so many steps, troubleshooting each one.

Yeah sccm is awesome at software deployment but a bit much too much to licence and setup just for that one feature. But then I would advocate using for lots of its features anyway [emoji3] plus I think it is fairly quick to deploy software on the go, if machines have a sensible schedule to update their machine policy they will get the deployment fairly soon and the reporting is good too. I agree that less and less software needs regularly updating. I don't deploy java anymore and haven't had a single complaint, flash is updated through WSUS which is awesome. The only real issue is Adobe Reader but even that has become easier since they moved to CUs.

Indeed, which is why I am of the firm opinion that even though 'it can be someone in school', effectively, it can't be.

The regulations also state that the DPO must have “expert knowledge of data protection law and practices.” I find it hard to imagine a situation where a Deputy Head has the required knowledge and it sufficiently removed from data for it not to be a conflict but then yeah, every school is different.

Again, kinda this :S Our LA ha proposed creating a DPO service that we can (for a fee) sign up to. We are also part of a teaching alliance which I believe may explore some options. Lord knows where the money will come from though.

Data Audit - some kind of guidance about what a compliant data audit in a school should look like and what compliant documentation should look like. Why are we all coming up with our own versions when they could provide a template for us to follow Public Interest - examples of what is and what isn't public interest would be fantastic. It seems to me that currently we have to make our own judgement based on vague wording whose interpretation is going to vary from school to school. DPO - as our SLT asked: where on Earth is this money coming from as it will probably lead to redundancies to fund this (I know this is a non starter but we *have* to let them know how bad it is out here).

Yeah if memory serves, there was a change. And IIRC there is a banding structure for pricing. Also remember that we jumped on during a special offer of a free year. So the standard price per board over a 3 year term would be a bit higher.

We are looking at sending some members of staff on an e-safety course. There are lots out there but can anyone recommend something that is credible and demonstrates our commitment to training staff on e-safety issues? TIA
