Yep I certainly do. And in a very similar sounding area. We use CCTV too. However, it is only accessed to view footage of incidents. Hey I was just trying to point in the direction of some guidance on the proper use of CCTV footage. If your school can justify its use then you're golden. But actually from reading your post the school is reviewing its use and ultimately its up to management to decide and justify its usage. Do with the advice what you will

I completely disagree. The thought of someone sat in an office watching my child on CCTV for no good reason gives me shivers. Not really. Its balancing safety and privacy. Also, if people are continually being watched on a CCTV live stream then they are justified in feeling paranoid.

Yep its a mess. I am given to understand that GDPR is mostly aimed at tackling abuses by big business and I have heard the phrase "schools are collateral damage" being used. I think (hope) that after a lot of badgering by LAs, MATs and Governing Bodies, the chorus is starting to be heard. I also think that there is little political will to start forcing schools to pay (out of their deficit budgets) for a DPO so a more liberal interpretation of the DPO rules will be allowed. Went to our LA GDPR briefing on Tuesday and was told the same thing. According to our LA they have been advised by ICO that they would accept this scenario. I have it confirmed in an email from the LA so I have it in writing!

You could try targetting the latest Defender updates at the machines as well. But then things will have to be installed in the correct order, ie Defender updates -> Windows Patch, else it will fail :/

As far as I understand it, yes. Spiceworks should pick up the mail attribute and use this. If you set the proxyaddress attribute with caps 'SMTP:xxx@yyy' then this should set the primary email in 365 Info on how it all works here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3190357/how-the-proxyaddresses-attribute-is-populated-in-azure-ad

Yes, we use this method to set users primary email addresses and any aliases they might have.

Currently we have a group of Me, a Governor who has been given GDPR responsibility and SLT. As it stands, I am doing most of the research, keeping up to date with developments and reporting back. The governor is coming to GDPR related meetings. The Chair of Govs is also being kept in the loop.

There was an issue with this in an old version of BIOS so check that you are up to date as a first port of call. Another fix was to set this is BIOS: Advance Power option: set to "HP Static High Performance Mode." Minimum Processor Idle Power State: set to "No C-state"

Ah yes, exporting never really did it for me as the xml produced isn't great (eg it always uses the DesktopApplicationLinkPath attribute). Better to learn how to create your own with the correct attributes for what you want to achieve.
