Replace the fuses? Ahhh... Thought is said "no fuses". All clear now. Seriously, unless things have changed DRAMATICALLY at the cheap end of the LED market, a nice fade in or out aint's going to happen. That probably doesn't matter in a drama class, but for a public show? Just looks ****.

Another negative from me I'm afraid... I'd avoid a "PC with a dongle" approach. Unless you will have absolute control over the PC. All you need is a poorly thought out "update & restart" imposed by a NM who doesn't understand these things, and your show is dead. Further; fader per channel for generic lights is much easier to understand.

Best place for it. I've never liked Zero stuff. However, for theatrical stuff, avoid DJ / Music kit. (With notable exceptions, that you probably can't afford) A complete PITA when you are trying to do a show. Both, maybe, but not another control somewhere else.

You are starting from the wrong end... What do you need to achieve with these lights? A splash of colour? Proper facial modelling? Nice tight spots? Decent fades? Apart from the "Splash" above, you need to avoid LEDs, unless you have £CHING available. Some of the cheap stuff is OK in other categories, but really won't fully replace tungsten. If you are looking at just brightening up a drama studio; well maybe...

Right - fixed. But I don't know how! A struggle even once it was trying to install from the stick. Kept saying the ned SSD wasn't formatted properly despite using the utility provided. Also had to unplug all other disks...

Midnight's Children; a bit strange, but I'll persevere.

Scenario - I'm doing a fresh install of 10 at home. (long story short - hookey Win7, upgraded to 10, new MoBo, no key etc, decided to bite bullet & pay for 10) Bought it, stick USB key in, new SSD, starts doing something, but doesn't finish. Copying files - blah - stops. I suspect "Secure boot", but I've not messed about with the replacement for BIOS before. I can't see a "Turn off secure boot" tickbox. It is a Gigabyte board (Novatech AMD FX-6 6300) Any clues? I'm currently copying the install files to another HDD, but there may be better solutions...

I don't see that the school are trying to prevent private use of school email, but (as the French are doing) stopping staff working when they should be resting. But the rest of the ppint is valid, at least until the culture has changed.

If you are in a reasonable signal area, it should be OK. Height IS important. Sometimes, in new builds especially, there are restrictive covenants covering aerials.

They don't get a brother or sister. Expect many presses!

The downside here is that any interference in the cable is amplified along with the signal. MUCH better for the amp to be near the aerial.

Aren't they just? One description I've seen, "Harry Potter grows up and joins the Met". I've just read the most recent Guy Martin. "Worms to catch". His exploit on a mountain bike are as astounding as those on a motorcycle.

Which way are your neighbours pointing? The power supply for most aerial mounted amps is internal and works like POE. You do have to ensure your splitter passes DC.

Are they on the same MUX? It could be that the power has been dropped, or something new in between you and the transmitter interfering on that frequency.
