I'd like to get home first if you don't mind. On the bike, with jeans (armoured) and a summer (not waterproof) jacket.

I'm not sure I'd want to network it. Attach to teacher's PC, then only print "finished product" at photographic quality, once teacher is happy. Cheap to run laser for knocking out proofs.

BHS To Be Wound Down As Rescue Attempt Fails - BBC News
Andrew_C replied to 6Foot2's topic in General Chat
You are joking? Right? This is the man who has raped the BHS pension scheme. Who even the Torygraph are kicking. Many millions transferred to Monaco to avoid paying the taxes that run this country. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/04/26/how-much-has-sir-philip-green-made-from-bhs/ Personally, Philip Green should go straight to jail, not pass go, and certainly not collect £200. -
You need to see a doctor about that!

HDMI TO USB?? Are you sure that's what you mean?

That's what the long bits at the front of shirts are for. The bits the kids can't tuck in...

After the first, I couldn't help but think there is a better story in there than comes across in the books. Almost as if you'd need a whole Diskworld series to do it justice. To some extent, the Long [Thing] books seem forced; trying too hard. I'll still read it.

Meh, ours cost more. -

"Prohibited - gaming". Ahh well, is it shorter than this? New Forest stupidity. -
We often have 4 or 5 examiners recording at any one time. And they are almost always clueless numpties when it comes to "technology"* so we bought 5 identical quality recorders, and external mics. We set them up, with the mics pointing at the candidates, we set the levels. Taped over the pause switch, giving them the option of just leaving the thing running, and we'd divide it all up afterwards, or stopping between candidates. After each day, we'd swap the SD cards so that the next day we could back up, then divide the long tracks, properly title, and burn to CD. *Said numpties have no trouble internet booking flights/ferries/pedelos to France for their hols.

Hmmm... Not quite the method I described as things have changed. I think your linguists are up a certain well known, smelly, creek. You don't have a .wav do you? Might get better results... Marginal improvement.mp3.txt

Many years ago we had similar. NM was working up a "rude word" system. It would email him every time a rude email was sent. Including the email telling him about the rude email. Instant loop, and very soon, a full server.

In Audition. Record a section of just "static"; invert it; copy to a second (pair) track; loop*; use the fader on this track to subtract the "static". Not too much, or you'll loose content. I don't use Audacity much, you may be able to use the same trick. As for reverb, I doubt you can undo it. You've effectively lost data. *not done it for a while, I think loop is the right step here.

Actually, it is what is commonly known as FUD. Microsoft are past masters at it. Oh, by all means use Linux, if you aren't afraid of licencing issues for where sthuff is open source.

I'd love to know how they expect centres to organise revision and practice/mock exams...

Still doesn't alter the basic fact. Without viable defence - illegal (even if only civil). Therefore wrong legally. (Morally? Different question.)

Not if you require a waiver from the copyright holder to be attached to it.

[video] Roaring Chewbacca Mask Gives This Woman The Chuckles
Andrew_C replied to 6Foot2's topic in Jokes/Interweb Things
And this is now the most watched video on the 'net. -
Yes to the above - but... Contact AQA; they may well allow schools who do their exams to copy for internal use. Your exams office may already have the info you need. The "Thou shalt not copy..." is probably just a "catch all" to prevent widespread distribution, or stealing by other exam boards".

The sound of those big signs clattering to the ground as some entitled s****e squeezes past could be distracting.

Years ago, when I worked in Southampton, I'd see trailer loads of TR8s heading for the docks; but never saw any on the roads. I assumed they were all ear-marked for the American market.

Not quite; I briefly had the estate version. 'til my ex left with it.

Nah, the All-Agro was terrible, the Maxi was unspeakable.
