  1. Well - I bought one. Picture fine, getting to grips with the Smartness, but the sound is woeful. "That's OK I thought, I'll just connect up the sub I had on the old one..." No analogue audio out. FFS... Got an old Sony soundbar with optical in for £20 from Facebay; seems to do the trick; but that's a bl00dy good wheeze by the mfrs.
  2. It may be the case that SOME (maybe most) lessons could pivot to an ITless world without too much trouble. However, teachers have been told for years not to print stuff, and that they don't need local printer. Some lessons (DT & science in particular) REQUIRE data, IT dependant equipment, etc. Due to constraints in timetables and curriculum, losing the lessons is a real problem.
  3. Everything will get rounded - UP. Just like decimalization here.
  4. If anyone spots a c43" TV, from a proper mfr, and not a "high spec" one...
  5. Look up the DDA. There's probably lots you should be doing...
  6. It is quite cold here too... because BOTH of the main pumps have failed. Running on zone pumps, with a flow temp of 40 instead of near 80. Not moaning, as I know they are doing what they can. Spending £ching on pumps and an engineer to take 1/2 a boiler out to gain access.
  7. You need to talk to your union...
  8. BBC item Doesn't tell us much...
  9. The tinnitus in my ears says "WEAR PROTECTION"!
  10. That won't show what the total earth leakage is through the filters. Much more likely to be an issue than current. You could connect a PAT box to the 4 trollies (or individually and add up) to get this value.
  11. DavR has got his current and power mixed up a bit. 1 amp at 12 volts is 12W. Insignificant at 230V. However, I'd be uncomfortable about the potential for earth leakage (intentional) on one circuit from 4 trollies with chargers in. Also consider mechanical safety unless the 4 way is fixed to a wall.
  12. Fixed that for you. An utter PITA if I need to get to town during "the season". Nice pics!
  13. We use "Smart Log" - not necessarily a recommendation. As a user there are weirdnesses I've not got to the bottom of. Some tasks crop up more often than they should. For example, a test isn't done in August, it gets marked as a pass in September with a note to the effect that Septembers test supersedes the task during the hols, but then another copy of the test crops up a few days later. It is probably designed like that, not allowing for how schools work.
  14. Indeed both.
  15. I think you missed the "cultural references"...
  16. "Genuine people personality" or "I'm sorry I can't do that Dave" personality?
  17. I had one NHS free flu jab, then the age was moved up. Work DO pay, and I do get one. This weekend if I can... One of the sorta-dortas is home. Coughing for Europe...
  18. Are they still planning/building a spaceport at St Mawgan?
  19. That was my suspicion. Other industries - pasties, crab, and mackerel.
  20. The COST of a holiday in Cornwall! Don't get me wrong, I love it, but... (I wonder where their funding used to come from?

    HDMI Quirks

And run another cable - just like VGA. (which just works)

    HDMI Quirks

Bringing with it the hassle of stripping out the audio if you don't want it going to a projector/board but to an amp.
  23. Possibly (probably) not the right place for this, but if you have bought any, contact Trading Standards...
