Only good news in this thread [News that makes you smile/feel happy]

We've just about used the Blutac that we got about 8 years ago; 10 outers instead of packs. -
Well, a quick review. Not a bad job. The beginning is a bit rushed, and some of the headscratching science gets brushed over. Stratt isn't as driven. Worth a watch.
-
In science - we do are own as a) it gets done right, and b) we'd have to get the stuff out and put it away again which takes a fir bit of the time.

I had one of those "DOH! I missed that!" moments thinking about the film. Trying to avoid anything spoiler like - If you've read the book; what is the protagonists last name? And what is the first line of a "Hail Mary" prayer?
-
As above - daisy chain is simplest (usually) and cheapest. Some devices auto terminate, sometimes you can just get away without. Don't.

Pretty much. I thought it was balanced - and scary. The AI responses would have mapped to almost any questions:- Human - I am going to bake a cake but I don't know if I'll be successful. AI - I have faith in you I'm sure you'll do it! Human - I am going to k1ll the Q****n but I don't know if I'll be successful. AI - I have faith in you I'm sure you'll do it! He was a year ahead of the Sorta-Dortas at their school and 6th Form.

Cost effective and a good use of your time IF you do more than put stickers on things. You are MUCH more likely to do the job properly. Sticker Monkeys - GRRR!

Why use just 5 long archaic words when 15 would do? (I think that's the sense I want to convey...)
-
I did that back in the autumn - really because I'd only read "Shepherd's Crown" once and needed a run-up to it.
-
Kolymsky Heights "A breathless tale of fear and courage" Torygraph and Philip Pulman thinks it is "the best thriller I've ever read". Not sure either of them have read any other thrillers. Yawn.

Or a join 1/2 way along the lead. Carefully heatshrunk. I'll get one of ours out and have a look. ETA - Yeah, glued. And the sticker that says "Very Fragile" - believe it. There will be a thin mica window on the end of the actual tube. Go for splicing the cable.
-
The voice of experience says - if you haven't got the right tooling for BNC connectors, buy a pre-made lead and cut one end off, fit it into the GM tube. ETA - BLOWTORCH???!!

AI voice recording and note taking
Andrew_C replied to ultraspy2000's topic in AI in Education & Enterprise
HoD has just tried something on his phone (no external data transfer) for dept meeting minutes. Really quite impressive. Not verbatim, but a good summary, even when someone goes off track later to a previous topic; it adds it where it should be. I'll try to get the name.- 13 replies

25 years ago I worked mid-scale touring bands at a local venue. Earplugs were compulsory then.

Parents in the UK are being warned not to feed their babies using a particular batch of Aptamil First Infant Formula made by Danone. The company is recalling the product because it contains a toxin, called cereulide, which can cause vomiting. BBC

Huge Water Bills Due to Underground Leak – Advice on Leakage Allowance Claim
Andrew_C replied to ranj's topic in General Chat
Been there... However, we're with Southern Water; they contacted us to say, "We think you've got a leak". I think they based billing for the 2 affected quarters on the previous year. I'd have thought ST would have suggested something like that. Southern were very upfront and helpful throughout, with multiple visits, including digging the meter up to try to find where it was. It was on our bit of pipe in the end. SW engineer - " Ahh, black poly; that'll have split". Now waiting for the next bit to go.- 1 reply

Lapsafe trollies are bomb proof, and heavy to match. The charging is built in, but I don't know if they do USB-C (surprised if not). Any supplied chargers become spare for the future.

Staff handbook items relating to IT Support?
Andrew_C replied to kennysarmy's topic in How do you do....it?
Well, if someone is setting an exam that REQUIRES IT (either as the subject, or lots of SEN candidats), they understand how to let you know what the requirements are, when they have to be in place, and who will be available to sort out the inevitable issues. ETC. -

How to approach IT or "IT user" heavy exams?
