I've flown a Chipmunk. Couple of times, but no take-offs or landings!

Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)

Who's book of horror stories? -
Sticker Monkeys. MrsC reported that a hot wire bender in DT passed, without a fuse carrier, and a hole where it should be, WITH A NOTE ON IT saying 'awaiting repair'. Same monkeys failed a perfectly good soldering iron; suppose that they felt the need to fail something so it didn't look like they were just slapping stickers on everything.

No one will come in and look at it. They are throw-away priced in that context. I started specifying electric. About twice the price from memory, but tend not to get damaged by teachers that can't read "STOP".

It may be that it has been pulled SO far down that you can't now release the pawls that lock it. In 30 years, I can't remember repairing one that has had that done to it.

Once we'd accepted that it wasn't 'The Watch' (tm Pterry) ; we quite enjoyed it. Bits still niggled, but over all, a good effort.

And this pic taken last night... Not too sure I've got work to go back to. The red light is the crane building our new gym & pool. Sorry, up load failings ; I'll try again later.

In one. Just because someone with a political motive claims "it is all over, go back to licking each other" doesn't mean what he/she says. That is based on experience of previous pronouncements. -
So it is unfair of me to tell them to "go away and do something biologically impossible"?

Possibly. Depending on how much they resist removal. I will try to let you know tomorrow.

You know, I'd bet that is REALLY good for the phone reading pedestrians. They'd think "Whuh?!" before they spotted the road. -
I lit Sweeney Todd (Colin Firth in the title role) - we were both about 18 and at the same 6th form college. My father worked at Johnson Space Center - working directly with real astronauts.

[tv show] Pratchett's Watch series coming to the BBC
Andrew_C replied to Dos_Box's topic in TV & Movies
We're watching IT - now available on Iplayer . If you can get your head around it not being "THE WATCH" Pterry, it is actually OK. Some bits a bit iffy, but OK. -

Seems we got to the end of term by the skin of our teeth. Now in the teaching staff and their families. -

The first books in the series are good; however, like Dune, after that it does get labored.
