You're right, they aren't and he has broken the law whilst overtaking. I am a coach driver as well as an IT Technician and it is illegal for a speed restricted vehicle to use the outside lane.

I have tried setting it as a Trusted Site, but doesn't seem to be working. It isn't putting the UNC path in exactly has set. This is the result of the Group Policy Wizard showing what I have set: This is what is showed on the PC once applied etc: It isn't solving my issue. Whether this is due to the slight difference. Is there a way that I can get it to show exactly as I would like it?

Hi Guys, Sorry for creating yet another new post about this issue but I have tried the solutions that I have managed to find and it doesn't seem to have worked. Well, it has on the Windows 10 machines but not on the Windows 7 ones. As you've probably already guessed I am getting the 'Open File - Security Warning' window whenever a shortcut from the Start Menu is click. The staff start menu is redirected from the following path: \\%schoolname%.local\userprofiles\staff\Start Menu . Below is what I have already done. As has already been established in previous threads; adding \\%schoolname%.local\userprofiles\staff\Start Menu into IE's Intranet Zone or as a Trusted Site is not going to solve as this only worked with XP. As said, this has been successful on Windows 10 machines but not so much on Windows 7. Is there anything that I am missing? I have run the Group Policy Results Wizard on my test PC using the test user and it is showing that the Group Policy setting is definitely being set. I have read here that changing the integrity level of the path to medium using ICALCS can solve it, but how do I go about using Group Policy to achieve this? I'm guessing that just running this from a computer on the path is only going to fix it for the particular computer and user that I am using at the time? This will not fix the issue school wide? Sorry if I am making a silly mistake somewhere. Hopefully somebody can help ....? Thank you!! Tom x

Hi All, Hopefully somebody may be able to help me. I may cry ... I may have made the foolish decision to roll out our new PC's with Windows 10. Two of the machines that I am replacing are in our Finance Office and we run Corero Resource 32000. When processing an order in Resource there is the ability to email orders. This uses a Send Mail MAPI. I have checked all of the default settings and made sure that the computer is aware that this is the case. I attach a screenshot. When you try and send a order from Resource I get the following error: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.". I have Googled it and used some of the most common solutions, such as deleting the subkey in regedit and repairing the install. This didn't work. I have also completely uninstalled and reinstalled Office. The weird thing is that after the computer has complained about the lack of default client an Outlook message does open as Resource intends but Resource throws up a load more errors because it has been under the impression that Outlook is not the default. Does anybody have a solution that may work? Many Thanks Tom

Not sure if you had any luck with this ...? I have spoken to Microsoft and got our KMS key for Office 2016. When I try and import this into VAMT it complains that it is unsupported and that I should upgrade. I am on version 10 of VAMT. The link that it sends me to is Version 8.0 :/ .... I am running VAMT on Server 2012 R2. Is there anything else that I need to do? The host key that we have installed is "Windows Srv 2012R2 DataCtr/Std KMS for Windows 10". As far as I am aware there isn't a newer one that includes Office 2016? I have also ran the 'Office Professional Plus 2016 Key Management Service Host' to no avail. Any help is much appreciated. Sorry @newpersn if I steal the thread.

Hi All, Hopefully some of you may be able to help as I am very confused. I would like to implement SCCM to use for deployment of Windows 7 and Windows 10. At this present moment I am not wishing to use any of the other features apart from Deployment. Is anybody able to point me in the direction of a good guide or able to give me some pointers of where to start as at the moment I feel completely baffled. Many Thanks Tom

Any time that I have come across this I have forced it into recovery mode and then restored using iTunes. Should return to the state that it came out of the box. Here are the instructions from the Apple site. Recovery Mode screen should look similar to this ... Hope that this might help. After reading again I think this is what you have already tried, so may not work.

Hi Guys, Hopefully somebody will know the answer. It has come to the time where we have decided that the cost of our itslearning VLE is no longer justified. A lot of money to be spending on a glorified repository. Although this is a great decision, it now comes down to us to export and retrieve any course materials from the last 8 years that the teachers would like to keep. We are currently exploring options of where we are going to store these materials once we have exported them. A few ideas are Moodle (internally hosted), Google Drive, or Shared Docs linked with our existing HAP installation for external access. itslearning have been quite kind and allow you to export each course as a .zip, but in IMS format. Therefore the zip does not contain the file/folder structure of the course as shown on the VLE. Each document/resource is in its own seperate folder, but does contain a manifest.xml in the root. After validating the IMS online it would appear that these are fully compatible to import into Moodle if we wish. Although, there is a possibility that we may want to choose one of our other hosting options. Therefore, does anybody know how easy/reliable it is to export out of Moodle. Does it export at all? In a friendly format? Retaining course structure? Otherwise is there such a thing as an IMS converter that I can use to convert this exported .zip into a normal folder, using the same file structure as the existing course? @bossman ... ahh I see. I can't say I have really played with it, but when asked to install it it looked fairly similar. If I'm right in thinking, if students do want to open their scores in MuseScore they have to output it from Sibelius as a MusicXML file, but yes you're right, not bad at all for free!

Our Music Department has had a look at MuseScore. It's a open source equivalent to Sibelius. Not sure how good it is myself, but main purpose of looking at it was for Students to download at home and be able to edit their Scores compiled in Sibelius at school. Reports back seem to be all positive.

Sorted now thank you ... it was down the install not liking the Product Key. I had already taken the IEWelcomeMessage out due to having the same problem with Windows 7 previously. Thanks all for your help.

Ahh, already done that @ChrisH ... I had the same problem with Windows 7 a while back, so that was the first thing I checked. I have just dug up some information saying that it could be a problem with the Product Key, so I have took that out completely and trying again. Fingers crossed all looks good so far :3

Hi all, Since my last post http://www.edugeek.net/forums/o-s-deployment/143321-windows-8-1-sim.html .. I managed to get the catalog to create and make an unattend.xml file for Windows 8.1. I am now struggling with applying this unattend.xml, it does not want to go. This is the message that I get during the deployment process. I have tried all manner of things to get it working, but without this component in the unattend it will not name the machine properly, nor join it to the domain automatically. Would someone be so kind to have a look through the Specialize 'pass' for me and see if there is anything obvious that I am doing wrong? I have taken the value out for the Administrator password for obvious reasons. Many Thanks Tom

Hi All, After some help if possible? I have created a Windows 8.1 image but would now like to edit the unattend file before deployment. I am attempting to do this in SIM (System Image Manager). Upon selecting the image that I would like the catalog created for I get presented with this error message: The log file says this: I am using version 6.2.9200.16384 of the Windows ADK. Hi All, Wondering if someone may be able to help me? I recently purchased a Belkin Screencast WiDi as my Ultrabook is WiDi compatible. It is running Windows 8.1. The Belkin device wants me to install the Intel Wireless Device software on my Ultrabook before it will cast the screen. The problem is that Intel do not offer the software for 8.1 and isn't compatible as 8.1 has the capabilities without the software. Anyway, has anyone managed to get the Belkin Screencast working with Windows 8.1. Can't help but think that I may have wasted my money. Cheers Tom

@dhicks ... something similar to this has already being tested on buses around Bristol. Not quite a camera, but a warning device. The company are about to take it to haulage companies as well. As a bus/coach driver myself, having another screen to look at would reduce concentration on the road. I may be barking up the wrong tree completely, but have you tried writing on it with the pen tool which is embedded into Powerpoint? This may work? I have only ever had experience with Promethean ActivBoards, but I am guessing that you can still use the Pens on a SmartBoard as a mouse as is the case with an ActivBoard? Tom

Hi All, After a little bit of help, if possible? I am planning to re-fit one of our ICT rooms soon ... the only problem is that this is a room that isn't assigned a teacher, like our other two, so is open to booking to the whole school. Therefore, I would like to make the room virtually bulletproof .. as lately damage in there seems to be getting worse. I am after some tamper proof keyboards which still look okay in the classroom, as I am fed up of endlessly replacing keys, or have to swap them back around all the time. Has anybody here already got some that they can recommend, or does anybody know of anyone that supplies them, as I have had a look, but can't necessarily see what I am looking for. Cheers Tom
