  3. An interesting project?! And two very nice looking minis! My baby ... Sorry for off topic! Couldn't resist!
  4. Hi @DJ-1701 Thanks for your information. Unfortunately I have already done this it seems so sporadic. Out of the 5 that did load, 3 of them came up with the error. After a reboot Deployment started normally. There seems to be something very strange happening ....
  5. Somebody, please help!! I'm about to tear my hair out. I have 10 identical PCs that I am trying to load using our Deployment Server. (Server 2012 R2, MDT 2013 Update 1). Now, 5 of these computers have started the install fine, giving me the screen to enter credentials. However, another 5 are presenting me with this error ... How ...??!! [emoji26] the machines all have exactly the same hardware. I don't understand how this is possible. Is anybody able to shed any light? Thanks in advance Tom
  6. Hi @limawhiskey I most commonly use one called Chrome RDP ... although I have swapped and changed. I can't say it's something that I have to use all that often, but offered it as a possibility. With Chromebooks starting to have the added benefit of being able to run Android Apps there will be even more to choose from.
  7. I could definitely recommend Chromebooks as a solution, if Windows isn't a deal breaker. Pretty inexpensive devices and very little management/maintenance needed. Has the ability to use RDP too. I don't know how adaptable your Staff are ... if they are open to a slight change in mindset? For these to work effectively you would have to have a Google Apps for Education account for Management/Policies etc. If you decide it's for you a chat with @Haptic may be of benefit. If you have any questions don't hesitate to PM me. We have around 200 here at the moment ...
  8. Hi Jimlag, If it was me I would be taking a serious look at Chromebooks like these ... Asus Chromebook C100PA Manufacturer Site TechRadar Review Acer Chromebook R11 Manufacturer Site TechRadar Review Both of these devices now support Play Store Android applications .. which in my opinion makes them very versatile devices for school. Predominantly a Laptop, great for writing essays, general research etc ... and then the ability to flip and use as a tablet with fully functioning apps. I'm pretty sure that both Asus and Acer have some newer ones on the horizon and due for release soon too... XMA/Viglen also manufacture quite a similar device. We have about 10 of them so far, they are quite sturdy and rugged. Maybe slightly on the heavy side for long tablet use. Unfortunately the only downside is that they don't yet support Play Store apps but apparently is planned! Viglen Chromebook 360 Manufacturer Site I presume that you don't already have a G Suite Domain in place for your school?
  9. Hey Guys! Hope somebody can help? I am trying to reload some Acer Aspire ES 13's using MDT. Unfortunately I keep getting an error though! ZTI ERROR - Unhandled error returned by ZTIDiskpart. Object required (424)~ Litetouch deployment failed, Return Code = -2147467259 0x8004005 ZTI ERROR - Unhandled error returned by ZTIDiskpart. Object required (424)~ Litetouch deployment failed, Return Code = -2147467259 0x8004005 The specs of the machine are as follows: Intel Celeron Processor N3350 4GB DDR3 L Memory eMMC 32GB The eMMC is a Samsung BJNB4R My suspicions are that the problem is reloading onto a eMMC? Could anybody confirm this. Thanks!
  10. I would hazard a guess to say that those apps are installed into the Teacher's "App Data" rather than the Systems Program Files. I know that Dropbox does anyway ... EDIT: Express Software may relate to some Browser Extensions or Toolbar's too ....
  11. I think that's what I will do! Was too late last night to faff around, had to get the machine back in for use this morning.
  12. Hi, Not quite a school request but having trouble activating a Windows 10 Pro machine .... Recently upgraded it to an SSD and decided to install Windows 10. Had tried cloning HDD to SSD and then going through the upgrade process but unfortunately kept getting stuck at 'Checking for updates' (for hours and hours and hours). After a few failed attempts I decided that the best bet was to just install Windows 10 from scratch and then just activate after. As far as I had read it was possible to activate Windows 10 with any 7, 8 or 8.1 key. Microsoft had reportedly enabled this! Go to activate last night using a Windows 7 key and it doesn't like it ..... I'm thinking that this maybe down to it being a refurb key (picture attached). Is there anybody that could confirm whether or not this should work? Maybe I should plug in the old HDD and see if the product key actually matches to what is installed on the original HDD? Many Thanks Tom
  13. Hi @Wave9_Andy Will give that a go, thank you! Have since noticed a few settings buried in the controller which looks like they have set back to default, probably down to a power cut that we had! Have a new Controller going in over the summer, so that will hopefully eliminate the problem anyway, or make it worse Tom
  14. Hi All! I am currently having a problem with a suite of 30 Acer Chromebook 13 CB5-311's. They keep connecting and disconnecting from our wireless network, despite having at least 70% signal strength. Our Wireless Network is Meru with multiple SSIDs setup, although we have turned these off temporarily to see if it illuminates the problem. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have made a difference. All other devices seem to be okay, without problem. Has anybody else experienced this before? They have been fine since September and have only caused a problem in the last couple of weeks, but nothing has changed .... Thanks Tom

  16. Hi All, Due to be getting a Surface 3 in the next week or so. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good screen protectors and cases? Have been having a look around but haven't really had much luck with finding many reviews etc. Would like a case that is quite lightweight, works with the Type Cover but not a folio type one. Something that would clip on or slip over etc just to protect if I drop it, but not cumbersome or bulky. As for screen protectors, the tempered glass ones seem like a good bet, as long as it maintains the original feel of the screen etc. I see a lot of people complaining about some causing drag when using the pen ... Any recommendations on personal experiences would be appreciated. Many Thanks Tom
  17. Oh yes! Thank you! Sorry, I could have Googled that!
  18. I'll have a look for those! Would rather get rid of them before I deploy I have given it a go but it is complaining about the script not being Digitally Signed. Maybe this is because I am running it on a server? I Unblocked the file beforehand.
  19. I presume that it is safer to do it on the install.wim straight from the disc? I tried it on a WIM that I had already captured back but wasn't sure if I had to modify the script for the name to match. I usually like to patch the WIM as much as possible and make a few modifications before deploying.
  20. Oohh I looked at that one @sparkeh ... It confused me slightly! I'll have to have a look at it with fresh eyes! When I tried it last night I was just getting an error Does it remove Candy Crush etc as well? I will never know why Microsoft decided to include it in the Education version! [emoji35]
  21. Hey Everyone! I am really hoping that somebody can help me. I think I am almost on the verge of tears, it's annoying me that much! A few months ago I created a Windows 10 Image by loading a reference machine, removing apps, performing updates etc before sysprepping it. I then deployed to numerous machines and it worked fine. Since the November (1115) Update I have decided that I would like to create an up-to-date image. So, I installed a reference machine with the newest version, removed apps, performed updates etc ... When I finally got around to deploying it, it kindly reinstalled all of the apps that I had removed ... I was less that impressed! Originally, when creating my first image, I used the DISM command in Powershell to remove the apps. This worked a treat! When creating an image of the November Update I used a different command, this one: This removed the apps on the reference machine fine but as I have said, seemed to reinstall them when loading a machine with my captured image. I then decided to try creating a new image from scratch but this time used the DISM command (above) to remove the apps instead. This doesn't remove the apps, even though it states 'Completed Successfully'. After a reboot the apps are still present. Has Microsoft done something to the latest release to make this a ball ache on purpose??!! Could anybody offer some help or provide any alternative, but idiot proof, ways of doing it?! It is muchly appreciated! Have a good weekend everybody!
  22. Yayy! I got my Lanyard and Badge! Thank you Edugeek ... and the boss of course
