Hope it doesn't take as long as @robk 's issue which took weeks to solve..... Can I suggest as we are seeing an increase in complaints on this that you maybe make a second spare admin account?

There was a good link provided by @GrumbleDook this week to a pack of info about looking for alternative ISPs and is available online if you have a search on here you will find it. Its a good document that has lots of useful bits of info in it to help give you things to look at and think about.

I can also vouch for the boss he's very good (just don't ask him his views on the LA Sales team hey @timbo343) he was also looking at lots of shiny things when I last spoke to him so if the shiny has arrived it will be a very nice job

The fax machine may have had a specific adapter / handset to go with it I know all the ones I've owned have either had an RJ11 to normal BT Plug or a specific handset with it.

I do care still I have friends that are exams officers who will be stressed by this, but alas the sales rep from Capita was we never have issues with Exams and those that make decision ignored my info from here, other schools etc... meh

I'd say the wiring between fax and handset may not be standard straight through perhaps

So Capita have broken Exams again just said so before everyone gets to exams time.... Its sounding familar this that Exams is broken in SIMS. It's not hard to get it right I'm sure of that I don't hear much of the oh exams is bust again for any other product of late..... Better and earlier testing of exams is needed when releases are so late, bring the releases forward to help with that would be good.

Through a break-in I assume? Does raise the question about how easily accessed your servers were. We have had prosecution from our old system for breakins smashed windows etc.... so you don't need multi-megapixel HD to be successful just quality images and quality footage.

When I costed replacing the CCTV at my last place it was significantly cheaper to remain on the existing coax and 12V system with DVRs than to move over to IP units. The quality of the older style cameras is quite impressive still, yes its not mutli-megapixel but do you really need such high quality for a school, we are not RBS here! I replaced and re-did our entire CCTV including replacing about 1/3 of cabling all new PSUs, 4 new recorders with 4TB storage in each box for about 1/4 of the price of fitting fairly entry level IP Cameras. The DVRs are web accessible via apps for Android and iPad as well as web browser and dedicated software so the relevant people have access to the footage inside and outside of school so cannot be sniffed at really. We got all the kit from CCTV Direct | CCTV Kits, CCTV Systems & Security Cameras for sale and got the local sparkies to fit it and cable it and I did all the DVR work for them and worked with them on focus / zoom etc...

Looks a good price for the device just why limit it to schools only. I know a few that for that sort of price area would probably give it a punt.

We used our standard AUP plus a signed disclaimer for the BYOD system mentioning about the need for AV etc.... I don't have it to hand but if you e-mail me @timbo343 I will fire it to you / stick it up when I'm home

If you have a search on here you will see a number of threads discussing wireless and mentioning Netgear and the general view was steer clear of it and look at one of the many other solutions on the market.

Sounds like its filled all its space on the pair of disks that the OS lives on, wonder if there is some logs somewhere you could delete? Take it you don't have a support contract on it?

I would do but I am in one of the many you cannot categories so am unable to. I do however think that those categories in some cases are seriously outdated and not appropriate any longer.

Nope 1 phone about £2.50 a month line rental with small allocation of stuff. You take as many as you need as your part of a HUGE contract via OGC hence it costing hardly anything. We had about 7 or 8 phones off it at that price and a data dongle with unlimited data for about £15 a month (which at the time we had it was cheapest around)

Yep the are fine in general classrooms, I had them in MFL Rooms, Humanities, Science Labs and IT Rooms and no complaints from any user in-fact the MFL dept said they were much better than the old desktop speakers screwed to the wall. The other nice thing with using ceiling speakers is that you no longer deafen the teacher / front row students so the back can hear it as you put the speakers in the middle of the room and the way we did it was middle of the room and one over each side of desks so to speak and it worked really well. That is a photo of my conference room I designed, the Amp is in the dado trunking under the IWB (since moved further down so not in a silly place....) but shows you all the bits of it
