Depends how much support you need, but I got our Moodle through The Cutter Project @kmount or @linescanner should be able to help you out and tell you what they do and don't offer with regards to Moodle. It has worked well for the school its reliable, incredibly fast and does the job

A lot of tools such as Exampro, Boardworks strictly prohibit them being put on a VLE if you read the License Agreement. Some sell a special VLE version which is £££££££££ more than the usual one.

and to make up for it we had 4 in our household at one point But to be fair we do have a large drive suitable for 4 cars and leaves room for turning and visitors. My place in London has 1 parking bay with it that cost £25K extra to have as there is about 500 bays on the development for something like 5,000 homes once its completed so win some loose some.

LED Projector onto a Smartboard with an Avid In-Wall Amp and Ceiling speakers this worked well. We also fitted a wall mounted remote for the Projector to stop them getting lost which worked well.

Interesting the original ceilign will have some beam above the plaster work somewhere for you to get a fix into so the unistrut solution could work, batten down with timber from the orignial and then use the plates (or decent plywood) around the I beam and fix to that. Where there is a will there is a way You can also use Beam Clamps around the edge of the existing beam if you don't need to move the projector too far from it, they clamp onto the edge of the beam and use the uni-strut fed through it to make a tight fix, they work well I have a few items up that way

Your suspended ceiling grid would also have to be designed to hold the weight which I suspect it wasn't designed to do. Sounds like you need to do a custom job, have you got 2 beams above the ceiling where you could run uni-strut between kind of like this: I I --------- P The I's are beams, ---- = Uni-strut and P = Projector.

For more unusual installations I would be looking at making my own, I don't know how much that B-tech one is but for probably £20 worth of materials you could make your own. Two bits of steel and 4 lengths of threaded bar and some nuts and washers combined with a normal projector mount kit bolted to the bottom steel job done. I have made my own up like that for installs before around strange columns and bars and it has worked very well.

I think maybe the government needs to use its own contracts it sets up, I have used them and fine you need a degree to understand the site but you can call them up and get a really nice idiots guide

Would agree with Geoff on this the overhead for de-dupe on the Sun / Oracle SANs were not worth it for us, although the space saved would be nice the loss of performance was not acceptable so it was turned back off.

Very sad day, I was told by a colleague I might want to look at the TV in the kitchen area as I actually live in Woolwich and very close to the scene of the incident. What annoyed me more is what happened later on that night with the protesting and kicking off in the town centre! I missed it as I was in central London until late but people were kicking off, abusing police etc... the EDL have photos on the twitter as did the BBC and other news sites, it is not going to solve anything "rioting" in the fairly newly refurbished town / market area of Woolwich all it does is make people have bad feelings. Having armed police all around last night and then all the news helicopters above this morning was uncalled for sad time but the more attention it gets the more the miniority who think this is a reason to fight have as they will keep getting attention. Sad day though with the loss of that mans life.

I wouldn't myself having had two of them the on-costs went through the roof with Oracle, support was very poor and not worth the large £K they were charging for support. I would be looking at something from EMC if buying now yes the Oracle kit was more reasonably priced than EMC but in hindsight much more worth it.

Reporting is due a major re-develop this year and there is a pause button coming for the realtime stuff, well its all changing and becoming interactive so you will be able to add / remove columns etc.... I know the Help is also being worked on as that was mentioned on here the other day by @AMLightfoot who is involved in that area I believe and will have more shinyness to it The menu structure is one that you either love or hate, I was never a big fan of the side menu but got used to it but once your using it it becomes second nature.

We had a similar thing from Osborne Technology seemed a good bit of kit, I did feel it was very over-priced for the tin, the actual hardware is probably about £5-600 at the most.

Biggest help for me as I told to @tom_newton was the fact that Sale-Farse lost all my past case details thus I lost a LOT of useful resources which were not ever on the public KBs some are on your internal KBs and some were specific qwerks to my setup but that was very damaging

In Yorkshire when I chaired them we had a firm in of the groups choosing / request so once they said we want to learn about VDI etc... and I brought in Cutter to talk to them and yes there is a sales angle in terms of have my card, guide prices etc but we tried to make them not rammed down throat and people like Cutter did a brilliant job of that We found it useful to have them present, for example the Smoothwall guys came to each meeting as they have the filtering contact and they stayed behind and @CJF gave a good bit of info related to programming which was useful so they are not always bad things to have "sales" people
