I’m looking for ideas for desktop wallpaper for a primary school and as I’m not the artistic type I thought I would see what others have done first

So is the pc left running 24/7 or does someone have to switch it on each morning?

What’s Halcyon like to deal with as a company? I’ve searched the forums but only found a handful of references. The reason I ask is they called the other day selling toner and I mentioned we were after a new server and they surprised me by coming back with a good price.

I’ve just finished looking at this software and it appears that it expects to open the database from the All Users\Application Data folder which is restricted for writing unless you’re a administrator. Is there anyway to change where the database is saved to so I don’t have to change the folder permissions?

I would go with the ISA.

Thanks for the info so far but now I have a couple of more questions. Is there a msi to install this software via gp? Is it possible to install this software on a number of machines and share the database?

Does anyone have knowledge of eyeProfile software as I have been asked to install it on the schools network. eyeProfile

I want to setup a new user so I don’t have to use the administrators details to install software on the domain machines. What the minimum rights this new user would need to allow installs?

I reported the redirection issue this morning by email to the EMBC and so far have not had an acknowledgement back.

@Kmount Something strange is going on as I searched the rules page earlier when I was at school and found nothing. I suspect someone at the EMBC must be reading this thread... On looking at logs > quarantine I find this entry dated today when I was testing: inbound: Rule "EMBC RULE - Block rude words in subject": [sUBJECT: Subject "Class lists" contains "ass "]. Action: Quarantine email and alert sender. Recipient(s): {[email protected]} But now when I do the same test the email goes through ok.

Is this the type that will burn out if it gets used in daylight?

We use the EMBC for email filtering and we are having problems with the word CLASS in the email subject triggering a rude word block on the email. Of course being a school the word class gets used rather a lot . I’ve logged on to email systems and found the rules page but for the life of me I can’t see the rule that filters rude words. Any ideas?

Sounds like the permissions on the shortcut or the program folder. Double check the required groups have read and possibly write permission to the program folder.

I’ve been trying to setup Andrew Berg's Flash Photo Browser. I’ve made a test folder on the website and extracted all the files from the demo zip into it but when pointing IE at the .html file all I’m getting is a blank bar. I too have found IJT refilled cartridges of poor quality and I even went as far as blocking their emails on the Exchange server as they were spamming the admin department as well. All was well for about 18 months until I was in the staffroom one lunch time when I was passed the phone and it was the sales guy from IJT. I was ready to hang up when he said he could beat the price I was paying for HP original toners from Misco. I was paying £270 for a rainbow pack for the HP 3600 and his price was £200. It turns out IJT are selling HP OEM toners. These rainbow packs are made by HP but they come in one box instead of individual boxes and are full capacity. It’s just a pity I didn’t learn about these OEM toners earlier.

When installing Flash, Shockwave and Java via group policy is the deployment method assigned or advanced? Also, how do I install an update when a new version comes out?
