  1. You’re going to have some fun! It's only been the last 3 years that writing has been a TA or whole level (4 or 5 etc.) rather than a fine level (4b, 4a) based on a test and a mark value. This means if you are doing a lookup of writing marks to fine levels and then converting this into points this will only work for KS4. KS3 students you will have no marks for writing and the whole level will need converting 4 (4b) = 27 pts etc. This could mess your template up a little bit, but you if your clever you can do it all in one template without splitting KS3/KS4. Don't include GPS in the APS as the DfE don't include it. For your KS4 students their overall KS2 measure that was used for them was Lv4+ in English and Maths, but the DfE split English into its two components of reading and writing and this will now apply to your KS3 students who won’t have an overall English level recorded against their name.
  2. Attix5 works very well. We install this on our school servers and point it to our own hosting. Attix5 | capita-sims.co.uk
  3. Google docs was 'locked' However, as long as you have one set of codes for all four sites then you can compare apples with apples.
  4. I think oit was around 60% of the annual licence
  5. Restore the data into an access DB and access the tables directly from there for basic pupil details. Attendance will be harder as its split across 3 tables but still do able if you drop it into Excel. Assessment would be a nightmare as it's all |5a|e|f|3| in the table and pulling it out would be more trouble than its worth. These will need printing as PDF's for individual students or exporting the the Year group results into Excel from within Facility itself. I think the historic charges for access to the system are a bit over the top, given that Facility is and has been, sailing into the sunset for a number of year.
  6. Profiles is a module that you need to fully undertstand before you let the staff loose on it. You can't go back and make certain changes once you are live. If some staff have started to write their reports, they aren't going to do them twice!
  7. Some schools have reported that they have been cold called by RM and offered Integris free for 12 months! Might be worth contacting some of those schools that use it to find out what they think. I know Dudley schools use it and I believe Oxford moved to RM quite recently. HT's I've spoken to who use it haven't been very complimentary about it.
  8. Try setting up a scheduled to restart eportal at break (if possible) lunchtime and during the night. The way the data sets are structures in Facility eportal slows down the further through the academic year you go, and the more datasets you have live (and not archived)
  9. I don't think SPAG is used in the Eng overall calculation. FFT don't include spag or phonics in their estimates. LA's have asked for part of this years payment back and have been told flatly 'no' - FFT are giving out free training sessions (2 or 3) instead to LA's for their schools.
  10. I'm guessing a lot of that £10K is licencing costs for Sims in year 1. Year 2 you will just be paying Annual Maintenance of around ~£3.60 per pupil. The actual cost of migrating the data should not be more than £1000 for that many pupils.
  11. Restore sims to a blank database, export the missing template(s), then import back into the live DB.
  12. @mark80 - we didn't have a particularly strong KS2 intake but even if we did, our 3LOP was above national average so surely our VA should be positive too? LosOjos: You have to remember that VA is based on your cohorts prior attainment set against a similar set of pupils progress nationally. Yes, on average your cohort made more than 3LP, but nationally similar pupils made" a lot more" than 3LP. It was pupils dissimilar to your cohort nationally that made less than 3LP, that then shows your school to be above the national for 3LP but have Neg VA.
  13. These are the two links to the roadmaps - but I wouldn't bet your house on them keeping to it. 15. Android KitKat v4.4.2 or above & Windows 8.1 from Easter
  16. Data Management should be open but you need to be an Admin to see it. If the Raise admin has created you a user account then you probably wont be able to see it
  17. Confirm that the people you are sending the data to have full access to the system and you should be ok. You will have trouble scripting S2S as it's a web interface Browse | Upload file etc
  18. That's fine you can still use S2S to send files to the LA, just use the generic file upload on the system. Zip the file you want to send (up to 10mb) and rename it 330xxxx_330LLLL_UPTO15CHARACTER.zip
  19. It probably wont be Link2ICT that set you up with a Secure Access (S2S) Password as its a DfE system https://sa.education.gov.uk/idp/Authn/UserPassword You should already have an account for S2S in the school. The approver (within the school) will need to turn on the Collect for the person sending the file to the LA. It's going to be the data team at the LA that process you Census files not Link2ICT. They already have access to the Collect and S2S so ask them if you can send you file via Collect for them to authorise and approve.
  20. You can send your Census file directly into Collect if you are an Academy. If the LA turns this 'option on' then maintained schools within the borough can use this method as well. You can also use Secure Access to send Census files to the LA regardless of your internet provider.
  21. I think your ex-girlfriend may also outperform you in her English language GCSE's as well.
  22. School will need to upload their own data to populate Y3, Y7 and post 16 as there is and wont be an Autumn update service. The DfE hasn't validated the academy schools data yet, so LA Admins can't download the pupil database as yet. 21/11/14 "We always knew that building Aspire was a massive project but clearly we have underestimated just how long it would take to complete. We are now about a third of the way through developing Aspire" Many thanks, Paul Paul Charman Managing Director, FFT e: [email protected]
  23. "I am very pleased to advise you that Vista Equity Partners made an offer yesterday to our shareholders to acquire 100% of the share capital of Advanced Computer Software and in so doing take the company off the public market and into private ownership. Vista is a leading private equity firm focused solely on acquiring software and technology enabled companies. Vista has completed 140 software and software-related transactions worth approximately $32 billion in total, including 35 transactions in the last twelve months including Misys in the UK and Tibco in the US. This is excellent news for Advanced and the Board has therefore recommended the offer to our shareholders. If the offer is accepted, it means that we will have a single powerful and well-funded backer with a long-term agenda to invest in and develop our business through its next phase of growth. As our customer this is excellent news for you also, Vista understand us as a business and what we are looking to achieve and are committed to sharing the journey with us and supporting us as we focus on delivering against the requirements of you our customers. For Advanced it is absolutely business as usual, whilst this does present significant opportunity it is merely a change in our funding structure and represents a great belief in what we stand for and the direction we are looking to take our business in. Should you have any further questions please contact your account manager who will be happy to help in whatever way they can. Regards, Steve Dashwood Managing Director Advanced Learning"
  24. The web addresses on that page aren't hyperlinked - doesn't bode well for a web based MIS system
