My other half lost her job a few years ago after undergoing an intense period of chemotherapy. She is unable to claim any benefits whatsoever as she didn't pay enough NI contributions during the time when she could barely stand up and walk let alone get to work. The answer from the jobcentre is for her to get a job ... there are plenty out there if you really want to work. Well, yes, maybe there are, but as soon as an employer finds out that you can't work a certain day of the week because you have to go to London to get ongoing cancer treatment, that's it, end of interview. It's gone on now so long that it's getting to the point where she will be unemployable. She did make enquiries about training but because she isn't on any benefits, she isn't entitled to any free training. So all of this getting off beneifits is working in her case, they took her off benefits and left her to get on with it. Part of the side effects of the cancer treatment has meant that she requires regular dental treatment, cost over £200 last time (on the NHS) ... seems like the only people who can get free treatment are assylum seekers and the likes (and don't even get me started on the one). I am so glad that we live in a caring society where the sick and the vulnerable are supported so well (Not) !!

Short sleeved white shirt, trousers and shoes. I sometimes wear a tie but only if I have a lonsleeved shirt on (which is rare). I can't say that in all my years working in schools I've ever got my tie caught in anything, nor have I ever dropped anything heavy on my foot so never felt the need for steel toecaps. If a computer is filthy I won't carry it, simple. If its owner can't be bothered to keep it clean then I won't look at it until they can. During the holidays it's jeans and t/polo shirt. Denim is banned completely during term times. FCUK logos are banned permanently.

My understanding is that a blue sign with a white arrow on it is an instruction rather than information.

So, in the original video, the bike weaving in and out and riding the wrong side of the bollards is in keeping with the traffic laws??

Law 10.4 ... Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player into the ground whilst that player’s feet are still off the ground such that the player’s head and/or upper body come into contact with the ground is dangerous play. Referees have been told that this is a red card offence.

My last pair were Base from er indoors' catalogue, lasted me about 5 or 6 years. My current ones are a pair of £20 cheapies from ASDA that I've had for the last 2 years and when polished come up as good as new.

Started mine last night at about 8pm. Took around 3 hours to download, then kept getting error 3200. Gave up in the end and finished it off when I got to school today ... took about half an hour to finish it off.

Has anyone considered that maybe the reason that there's no podcast is because it would breach the copyright arrangements of the piece to offer it as a download, therefore all of the ripping/downloading processes are illegal, or do we not worry about the legalities of things like this any more?

Not sure that it's open source but Format Factory would be on my list of must haves, deals with just about any media file conversion and has a nice easy to use interface. Format Factory - Free media file format converter

Lowest spec of machine on your network (RM CC4 ideally)
HarryMonkey replied to dgsmith's topic in Hardware
Our lowest spec are some original RM AllInOnes, P4 1.7 with 2Gb of RAM. They seem to work fine. Make sure you have big enough hard drives. Some of ours are only 40g and struggle sometimes by the time we've put some big software on there. We've got round it temporarily by adjusting the partitions to 70-30. I've also built some CL51 laptops which have had the RAM upped to 2Gb and they seem to work ok as well, especially for low usage apps such as Office, Internet browsing SIMS etc.
