Sorry missed your reply, if you do want to try the same version as me still, drop me a message and I'll look at sharing it with you.

I've been having the same issue recently when setting this up at one of our new sites. I ended up using an older setup.exe from another one of our sites using 2019. Something must have changed in the latest release / download and just constantly says it couldn't download a file. It 100% wasn't firewall or filtering related and I compared XML files with the other site.

Printing Issus in school Since the August Windows update
jonnykewell1 replied to leewakelam's topic in Windows 10
Hi @leewakelam, We found the issue to be related to KB5005573 or KB5005613 depending on your server operating system. I'm assuming there's also a windows 10 update which is restricting the install of the print driver for non-administrators. We've pushed out the following registry key to client in the 'default domain' policy to get around this. Just apply, reboot and job done. Action: Update New 'REG_DWORD' Value = Decimal 0 Name: RestrictDriverInstallationToAdministrators Key Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key path: Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers\PointAndPrint Kind regards, Jonny- 1 reply

Thanks Jaan, sadly I don't think it's a heat issue. It's been happening for a few weeks now, even when we had the colder weather.

Thanks for this Chris, i'm not entirely sure on the type of cable but i'll certainly try and find out. The thing that's worrying me is that this is a gradual install across the whole site so is only going to become a bigger problem. The cost for replacing so many cables is going to be a fortune and I can't see the AV company coughing it up.

Hi @Chaniel, I've gone back to the onsite team to ask them your first question with regards to just how random it is. I believe that the cable run is about 10 meters from projector to wall socket and then a 1m cable from the wall directly into the PC. That's a good shout with regards to eco mode, I suggested a firmware update but didn't consider some eco-mode settings, I'll pass that on. I don't believe we have any sort of HDMI signal amplifier to be able to test currently but it might be worth investing in one just to see if it makes a difference. I'm certainly leaning towards a signal issue with this one.

Good morning all, I'm looking for some help/suggestions with regards to an issue we are having with the secondary output to the projector, which suddenly loses signal at random times during Lessons. We've recently had our AV breakouts and wiring updated to HDMI by an AV company and the output drops when using HDMI-HDMI connections and HDMI-DisplayPort via a display port adapter. When switching back to VGA and an audio cable everything starts to work again. So far the team onsite has done the following troubleshooting steps but it still randomly stops working. -Teacher computers are HP Pro One 440 G4 23.8-in AiO. BIOS to latest version, some machines work on HDMI-HDMI some don't -Tested with different HDMI cables both at the machine side and with the one through the ceiling which is 10m -Only seems just to work perfectly with VGA + audio cable -Updated video card drivers with latest version -A laptop works via HDMI but still intermittent -Project Epson EB-X39 (currently awaiting the onsite team to update firmware on the unit) Any other suggestion on things to try would be welcomed or experiences of something similiar as it's really starting to cause headaches. Thanks, Jonny

We're having a similar issue here and i'd love to know if there's a quick fix. We've had issues when adding/moving users to classes and the notebooks not being created. if you experience this problem ask the teacher to go to the following url and click fix next to the class to fix the permissions for all class members. https://www.onenote.com/classnotebook/notebook-fix?auth=2

Did you ever find this out @MRDabble? Could you DM if so?
-
@themightymrp one for you here!
-
I've just been on the phone with CPOMS and they managed to fix my issue for all of my jobs.
-
Exactly the same issue here - PM sent @AdeB . Thanks in advance.
-
Found out the issue was Sophos blocking the application. Unblocking the app and then running the installer from 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Groupcall\Xporter\XporterUpdate' restored the files, picked up the jobs and started running again.

Did you find a fix for this @DSAGEY?

Good morning everyone, We've spent a few days looking into this and it's driving us mad so I figured i'd turn to edugeek to see if anyone has any ideads for us to try. We are moving to a new provider for web filtering who now use a locally install agent installed on the Imac to proxy all traffic out to the cloud filter. We've removed the existing providers proxy settings from the machine and have found that safari will not connect to the internet but other browsers will. This also stops the mac from being able to update it's settings and apps from apple. When we run a netstat from terminal we can see that there's still a http get request trying to contact the old web filter address. We've tried numerous things including: -Delete the network / settings plist files, reboot, and let the mac create them again -Double check no proxy settings are ticked -Created an any outbound firewall rule to make sure nothing was blocked -Checked the Hosts file -Checked local DNS and Server DNS and DHCP for any entries that may try and force machines to the old filter -Checked date /time are correct -Removed existing software from current provider from the machine -Ensuring all certs are up to date and enrol the mac with the server again and create new profile -Checked the core and firewall for any legacy settings The OS is High Sierra and it's got the latest supported version of Safari installed, anything newer installs but then doesn't work (annoying that it even lets you install it). We've installed the new web filter agent but have found we experience the same issue so it appears to be machine related. I'm sure there's more that i've forgotten to list above but if there's any other suggestions to try other than reinstalling the OS (we've got gigs and gigs of music software) then i'd welcome them with open arms. We're not experts on apple devices by any means and we've already discussed the option of using them as door stops going forward. Thanks in advance Kind regards, Jonny

Good Morning everyone, I am currently doing some research into WSUS and best practice for our Multi Academy Trust and figured i'd reach out to Edugeek to see how other Academy Trusts manage it across their sites. I have some questions that i've put together and wondered if you could share your thoughts? Do you have a central WSUS server that deploys to your sites and have you considered it? Do you just have a WSUS server per site? Do you cache the updates to your local server or do you pull them directly from the internet? How do you have your automatic-approval rules configured, Do you have a test classroom / machine that runs the updates first? Do you have a specific person who regularly checks to ensure it's working and managed properly and consistent? Any other insights or ideas about best practice would be welcomed. Kind regards, Jonny
