Are you on IOS7? if so try going into settings>safari>block cookies> and select "from third parties and advertisers". I had multiple problems when mine was set to never when I upgraded to IOS7.

That will be your biggest problem with the proximity cards, students will always loose them, you might also find that they will be using each others cards not just from lending them to friends but physically taking other cards from other students and spending their money. We recently had a system put in and we keep it simple, your thumb from your right hand for everybody. We have the option on our system that if your thumb doesn't work you can configure a 4 digit pin to use instead, this also works if we have any visitors in school who want to grab lunch.

just out of curiosity have you got ab tutor installed? I found at my old place when re installing ab tutor on machines netlogon would stop running and we had to do the reset winsock as mentioned above.

virtual machines for me, you can create your own mini network separate to your main network. You could set up a server, show him how to join machines to AD etc.. that's how I first learnt.

The primary school I support use it and find it great. Never had a report of it running slow but then again the librarian might not be able to tell as it's running on an old XP machine :-)

I was looking at smart alternatives at BETT too. I really like the Sahara clevertouch tv's and their Own software is now packed with interactive features. Even the C touch screens are nice Although the people on the C touch stall didn't seem too clued up about their technology, the lady on the stall didn't even know what size tv she was demonstrating. We discovered last year that when using smart notebook 11 with a clevertouch tv it placed a water mark across the screen and at the time the free software just didn't seem great. The teachers really do love to use smart notebook and getting them to change software just won't go down well trust me. I even had a demo at the Epson stand as their new projectors can also come with an infa red sensor and make them interactive on the wall or even on a table top. They do a petty good job at a reasonable price of around £1500. The key for me was new bulbs only set you back £50-£60. Did any of you see the 4K tv in action? Drooool

it looks like from the teacher console when you go to files send/collect files you can specify which folder the files and folders can be sent to. You could change this to a shared network area and maybe get them to access it from there? I don't personally use this software but hope it helps. see this website about where to change the folder path. LanSchool

can you not change the path to share files to be on a network location rather than on the c:\ drive?

well it's my first time at BETT and I will be going down on Thursday. Interactive tv's are on our lists to look into. We have some of the clevertouch ones in our primary schools so let's see what other brands are out there and what they have to offer. I'm not looking for any wifi products at the minute but would be nice to look at some of the other kit out there and see what they can do. Is it geeky to do a selfie at the edugeek stand?
