  1. Fixed for you.
  2. Any more ideas? I am looking to give some ideas on how much might or might not be needed by the end of the day.
  3. Open the reservation entry up, copy the mac address, delete the reservation entry and then recreate easily using the wonders of paste.
  4. Thanks, those have the features I want, but I don't want to be broadcasting onto the net with the video etc. It will just be for use in school so I need an application that will do all those things but will allow me to send the video to our internal streaming server.
  5. If you go on Certification forums UK computer A+ Network+ MCSE MCSA MCP CCNA discussions exams study guides you will find plenty of information on which are the best books and video resources.
  6. We currently make good use of our radio room in school. It is used all the time and the students stream live over the school network and once or twice a year we put this stream on the internet for parents to listen in. In school we have a webcam and the sound source from the desk going into a PC that uses windows media encoder and sends it to the server where people connect and can see the DJs at work as well as listen to the show. We would like to do a few more things with the video aspect to enhance things a little and in turn maybe do more video interviews etc. The things we would like to do are: have multiple cameras, maybe with a split screen or mosaic type or affair. I have seen VLC can do this but couldn't find a straight answer about feeding this to Windows media services. We would also like a overlay over the video so we can have scrolling text on the bottom and maybe a badge in one of the top corners etc. We are not looking for professional quality or anything but would like to get these features in, if we could. Can anyone tell me what kind of additional hardware and software we would need for this and a rough cost etc. Thanks in advance ChrisH
  7. You know you will lose access to the NEN?
  8. I will second that it has made migration of file servers etc extremely easy. Before that it was changing all the paths or making an alias for the new server and changing the registry to make it respond to both hostnames as a share etc. Definitely worth doing and really not that complicated.
  9. I would say 70-642 and 70-646.
  10. Use a script using netdom and have it reference some kind of lookup file for mac to hostname lookup.
  11. Ipconfig /flushdns is for the dns client try dnscmd /clearcache although I would have thought the other actions you have performed should have done this for you.
  12. Use MDT to make your images and make them into a media install. With a big enough storage device you can set it up so you can have a menu to select your separate images for install.
  13. Will the 2610 do the routing? Does the DHCP server have the address of the switch doing the routing as the default gateway? Your config looks correct but I see no mention of what is doing the routing which I suspect the 5406 is for as I have one of them.
  14. Could it be something to do with a restricted group GPO?
  15. If you like that you might also like the Enterprise Haynes Manual
  16. It's FFT live data but with multiple subjects per student. You can do the individual subjects but that takes ages, would be nice to do them in one hit.
  17. I have an ordered list which is name, subject, etc. Each name has multiple row entries so joe,bloggs,subject1,A joe,bloggs,subject12,B and I wan't this in a broadsheet format like: FName,SName,Subject1,Subject2 joe, bloggs,A,B Is there an easy way to do this in excel? I kind of got the right format using a pivot table but I couldn't get the original grade values to show, only the totals because of the pivot table doing it's normal calculations. Any ideas? I am sure this should be straight forward, but I am just having one of those days.
  18. Sorry just had Ofsted in, so I have been a bit busy. Glad you got it sorted in the end.
  19. That might have been one of my macros to paste pages together for printing? If so I can alter it slightly for you.
  20. Then one awkward app I wanted it to work on was the Access Reading Test from Hodder. It loads but can't find the exam oh well. Seems to work with everything else though so I will use it on some stuff. I will manage it with a script for startup/shutdown that looks at a directory for what should be installed on the machines and copy them over. Nice and simple.
  21. I'm guessing you could just use different ports with squid rather than loads of NICs, especially where you only have 20 clients.
  22. You need to put your computer accounts into OUs and use a logon script that assigns the printers according to the OU they are in or if you naming convention is good and relates to the location you can take the first part of the name and use that to identify the room/area in your case I am guessing: Case "s08-w103" and "s08-w104" You could identify these by getting the name and taking the first 3 eg s08 or even more specific (if your naming convention works this way) s08-w1 And using case statements with this. The OU method would be my preferred approach though.
  23. I had a quick go and it looks okay. I wonder how well a package made on XP will work on 7 and vice versa. I assume there should not be many issues as it is "virtualised"
  24. The error in question is likely to be a 16 bit component. You will have the same fun if you try and run T4. If this is the problem then you will not be able to fix it as 64 bit can only do 64 & 32 bit like 32 bit can do 32 and 16.
  25. Thanks my LA support put me onto the free period method in T4 last week so I finally managed to get the on roll and in classes balanced. This can be here fro next time when I forget though
