Hi everyone, we recently purchased a set of iPads for school, unfortunately we are having problems with the children changing the settings and putting passcodes on and then being unable to unlock them. Does anybody know of an app that is available that locks down the settings, I know that the ipad has built in restrictions that can be activated. But we would like to further restrict the children if possible.

Hi everyone, Our head is currently using a Kingston encrpyted memory pen, when she plugs it into her PC it works fine, but when she plugs it into her laptop it doesnt autorun if you click the icon you can unlock it and browse the files by using the browse option built into the software, but the drive does not show up in disk management or windows explorer. She is also unable to save any documents onto the drive as she cannot access the drive from any of the programs. Any ideas??

I think it is overheating. I have been having it flat on my bed which isnt ideal for air flow to say the least. I have now got it resting on top of a cushioned tea tray so that there is bit more circulation. It only ever turns off when running a game. It has also cut out when running the windows 7 system rating which I would assume is testing the graphics card. I have checked and it says that the most up to date driver is installed for the graphics.

On a side note not sure if this is connected or not. But when I try and run a game on the laptop after a couple of minutes the laptop turns itself off for no reason. Doesnt shutdown just turns off. Any ideas??

I recently bought a Alienware M5500i-R3 Area 51 Gaming Laptop from Ebay which came installed with windows XP I formatted the hard drive and installed my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything is working fine apart from the graphics being set to 1920 x1200 which the computer says is the recomended settings but when you view web pages the pages are automatically zoomed to 150% and certain programs the text is really small on the menus and can just about read it. Have looked at changing the settings to a lower resolution but the screen becomes too large and unable to view the whole screen on one page. Can anybody help as using certain programs has become nearly impossible as unable to read the text as its so small. Below is the spec of the laptop incase it helps. Have also attached two screenshots to show just how small the text is. Intel Dual Core processor at 2GHz 4 GB RAM installed (note, Windows will only see/report 3.25Gb as is a 32bit OS!!!) Upgraded ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics card with 1Gb RAM Upgraded High Defination screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution 250GB Western Digital HDD (230Gb usable after formatting) Wireless 10/100/1000Gb Ethernet Card 3 x USB slots 1 x firewire SD Card Slot DVI Out PCMCIA Slot

Hi Everyone, Just wondering if you could help me, somebody who i know has asked me to reformat their hardrive and reinstall windows 7 on their laptop because they have forgotten their password. When i have turned on the laptop before it even boots up a box appears asking for a hard disk password, and the same pops up when trying to access the bios. The person whos laptop it is has forgotten the pasword is there a way to get around it? I have never saw this before and im completly stumped so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Currently having programs with my laptop recently moved over to windows 7 and since there seems to be a problem with the graphics card every now and then causing the screen to blur and become unreadable even during the bios boot screen. Has anybody an idea what it may be or a way to test the graphics card. Thanks

Hi Everyone, I was recently given a Vaio FGN-FZ11Z laptop from a friend to use as a spare. When i received the laptop windows was corrupted for some reason and would not load. I tried to run the built in hard drive recovery disk program and whilst the first part of the process works fine once the computer reboots and starts to install the setup files the screen becomes distored and then the computer reboots which continues until the laptop is turned off. To try and get round this I tried installing a copy of windows 7 which installs fine without any problems. The only problem is that some of the drivers particularly the built in webcam do not seem to work I have tried installing the drivers that are on the sony support site but they do not seem to work. Their also seems to be a problem when trying to install the graphics drivers. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everybody, I was wondering if you could offer some advice. For years now i have lugged around several CD holders Screwdriver boxes install disc, Usb pens spare parts etc when doing installs or even popping to fix a friends computer. Can anybody recomend a bag or box that i could use to put everything in one place. To save the need of me being an Octopuss.
