  1. Everything works except T4. I have UAC on and it runs fine. I think you will find the UAC is prompted by it trying to update one of the sims.ini or other ini files in the program files or windows folder.
  2. You are correct in saying the DFL is mostly to do with the domain controllers. You will not notice much difference or issues by raising the level. You will need to do the forest level first. I would go to 2008 if I were you.
  3. Did you miss the mask bit out of the command or just when you wrote in here? route -p add 10.217.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.217.0.110 Should be route -p add 10.217.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 10.217.0.110
  4. What does the RAID bios say the configuration is? 3 drives and a hot spare or 4 drives no spare?
  5. That I didn't know! There are some newer codes now where the it ends on December but you have to take the first exam before that date.
  6. That should be fine. Also look at the /zb switch for dealing with files that may locked/in use and the max retries and time between retries switches to make life a little more helpful. Oh and dont forget the logging option after to make sure you know everything copied over. Just be very careful with /mir as it warns because if you point it at the wrong directory it will start deleting files that you don't want to delete. Don't do what I did once and point it at a root folder with a load of folders inside and not the sub folder to that
  7. This seems a common thing to me. We are still on Server 2003 with a few Windows 7 clients and it seems if there is the briefest of interruptions to the network they come disconnected and even when available again they do not allow you to click back on them likw XP would. These are mapped drives as well.
  8. Printer Addition Based on Location - Wiki
  9. SMTP port wrong and authentication wrong I take it?
  10. Can someone remind me how you find the students without a timetable in SIMS.net. I thought it was in T4 somewhere or in the main interface now but I can't find it. Cheers Chris
  11. Thanks that's very comprehensive. I currently have RAID 6 on my HP SAN and it does indeed run the scrubber utility and there is a hot spare available. The SAN also sends plenty of emails too many sometimes
  12. Yes I do it on occasion an example being "http://fantasy.premierleague.com"->"http://www.teletubbies.com" I do this with a content security policy.

You can get these for all sorts of different subjects. I use them when I am studying for exams. There isn't a wide selection but you will usually find 2 or 3 relevant ones.
  14. He didn't mean bean pole
  15. You don't mention sysprep? Have you used it? You should be able to activate as part of that process.
  16. Make the command line into a string and then use that as the argument for the run command.
  17. Looks Good!
  18. Should do if it was certificate errors that were letting you down before.
  19. You need to add the issuing server as a trusted certificate authority. I think this is what you need.
  20. Create 2 dhcp servers with the same config and then exclude a portion on one server and exclude the oposite portion of IPs on the other server. That way you will have 2 servers at all times and if one goes completely you can just make the excluded range available. Make sure you define both DHCP servers on your routers/L3 switch under ip helper or whatever setting it is.
  21. Windows 7 is a lot more versatile when it comes to using the same image for different hardware. The main problem is usually the mass storage drivers but adding these after the initial image is easier in Windows 7. Look at MDT for helping automate driver injection for different configurations.
  22. I think they are on about the tool that CLEO developed to import users and put them in classes from SIMS.
  23. You need to get the Teachers involved with checking the state of the room before they start the lesson and noting any problems.
  24. From what that page says it is an OEM version and only comes pre-installed on new hardware. It also seems to say it is for a single server network so it's like an even more basic version of small business server.
