  1. i use qres at logon , do you see the qres setting the resolution at logon ( e.g. change the resolution to a totally different one and see if it works ) . If it does set it and then gets changed after , i recon the graphics software is changing the resolution to its recomended optimal , which there should be a setting ion the software which you can turn off . Are all other login scripts working , such as drive maps etc
  2. Craig A Rodway I use the PHP web based version for viewing whos logged on . Its great ! , it uses a logon and logoff script to write to the MYSQL database
  3. what a strange problem How about creating a bat to see if that works . create a new .bat put the following inside start iexplore http://www.google.com
  4. I went to uni and done two degrees in networking. I really wished i didnt bother , instead i wished some one could have told me that for this job the better way is to do the high end MS courses . You already have a job lined up which is great , get some experience and see what job roles you can get after that . I doubt after working for a year you will want to go back to uni/school.
  5. weekends the cap is 12pm-12am im on 100mbit since feb/march . Kinda regretting it now lol ! Then again i dont tend to use the NET untill 5pm during the week , so wont really affect me unless i want to download 30gb between then and 9/10pm weekend though , that could be a tough one . I was planning to purchase some remote space to upload my CCTV recording automatically ... Wont be doing that now
  6. Well the lists did say you was blacklisted on 4 lists . The previous tech has probally never requested to be removed , IRC you can only ask a few times ! So make sure everything is closed up , all holes etc before you request removal .
  7. Think you may have left this a bit late ?
  8. Glad its all sorted . Pain in the bloody arse Exchange is when it dont work properly. What makes you laugh is , before you started there they must have had such a lot of problems with exchange ! , make sure they know you sorted it out for them with a nice staff email explaining .
  9. Have a script that removes the printer at logoff Disable the 'finding ' of printers Job done ? Most kids wont know the direct UNC path
  10. I could never get sharing of screens working properly . It would display but the user had to click to get this updated also multiple login stopped working also , which i loved ! went to abutor instead , for a few hundred quid was well worth it !
  11. as shown above , your mail server is on quite a few blacklists Setting Relay Restrictions Set the relay restrictions to the internal network only . Set the SMTP log level up ( better to check it now before you try and unblock yourself from the spam lists ) Check the logs and see what PC's or accounts are authenticating and sending etc. We use GFI mail essentials , i noticed we had a authenticated relay attack last summer when our server sent out around 1000 emails and got us blacklisted ! .
  12. check your mail server on mxtoolbox.com make sure your not on any blacklists etc . Make sure you close off open relay ( if open ) and then remove your self from the blacklists Another thing hackers can do is if they obtain an easy account username/password such as User/User they can authenticate against the Exchange. Id recommend activating Logging on the SMTP to see whos sending out tons of emails !
  13. Instead of using moodle im looking for a free open source alternative for children to see there current homework set by teachers allowing them to download and then submit once completed . Is there any software out there that does that ?? Only one ive found is myHWT - The Homework Tool , obviously in German which i wasnt worried about ( i could translate with a bit of help with google ) but im having trouble connecting it to LDAP ( which isnt normally a problem , currently using 6 ldap Php applications )
  14. Im 25 and know most of this . I think doom was installed as standard on most networks. Maybe by the techys lol ? Any one remember RM NETWORKS ?? Jesus i wonder if there still around lol !!! Back in my rebel days of computing . I still remember putting the end of matches onto a floppy disk with nail varnish , putting it in the floopy drive and turn the PC off . Waiting for the next person to turn the machine on for a little fire ( stupid now i look back at it as i imagine i could have killed some one) Also the time i installed a RM username logger , it basically replaced the login prompt for a fake one and logged every ones information . I didnt think it had worked untill the NM called me in a week later and told me it had logged 2 pages of usernames and passwords ! lol
  15. Tbh i it was a bit of hit and miss with me . I always enter it the manual way ! , which i prefer any way
  16. How does some one give a mark on a Subject they know nothing about ? for e.g. i could steal some very good source code and call it my own and without no knowledge of programming or code they will have no idea if its to advance for me or not .

  21. ok heres what im trying to do . Currently have two networks 1 network on the 172.16.0.0 range ( guest wireless , should only have access to the NET) 1 network for everything else 10.146.0.0 range ( DC , DNS , Inet router , PC's) I have a Hp server with two nics , Running IPCop ( but i spose i could run any linux variation ) What im trying to do is , connect both subnets together so the guest network can access the net only , to do this it needs to communicate with the router address on 10.146.0.0 range and probally DNS as well . What is the easiest way of doing this on Linux ? I assume im really trying to setup some sort of router/gateway for the 172.16.0.0 range . My IPCop Config is Red network ( Internet) - 10.146.0.0 range Green network ( guest ) 172.16.0.0 range any help please
