Hi Guys, It's been a while since I've done a iTalc network install (1.0.9 which is from 2008!). One of my schools has asked me to look into a classroom management system thats cheap so I've suggested iTalc and they've jumped at the 'free' price. I've downloaded versio 1.0.13 remembering that at the end of the install it asks you do you want to save your installation settings into a .xml file which you can then inturn use to install other clients by 'setup.exe installstudent.xml' Version 1.0.13 doesn't have that option! but their documentation says it does =\ so rather confused. I then read somewhere to skip 1.0.13 and go straight for 2.0 as it intergrates with AD. Same again! no save installation settings or any other way to deploy it! So I'm tearing my hair out here trying to figure out how to deploy the iTalc client to 50+ machines then the iTalc Master to 10 teacher laptops! TL;DR - I cant deploy iTalc 2 and need help!

Hi Guys, I've got two laptops that both have the same error (see screenshot) the error indicates im missing a direct show codec, I've contacted Digiblue Support who pointed me to this codec pack Ligos Indeo Codec. This doesnt work either, so I've contacted them again and they've said to remove a certain windows update KB975560. and it still didnt work! Has anyone else seen this issued and resolved it? Im a little sick of Digiblue's predefined template responses and would like some real help ^_^ Thanks in advance ps hope your enjoying your summer (if you have one, unlike moi)

tried this vbs, it redirects the desktop like a beaut. instead of redirecting the documents folder it just creates another folder called %username% (e.g. testuser) and then the documents are in there. pictures doesnt redirect either. both unchecked =( trying everything to get these blooming documents to redirect...even trying a vbs to edit HKCU on logon!

Its applying correctly, now in eventvwr i get > Failed to apply policy and redirect folder "Desktop" to "\\curriculum\Staffhome\redir\Desktop". Redirection options=0x9001. The following error occurred: "Failed to build the list of known sub folders". Error details: "The system cannot find the file specified. ". Litterally tearing my hair out! the user 'redir' has full control of their folder, share permissions are set to everyone full control. ive even made the folder (\\curriculum\staffhome\redir\desktop)

Still not sure which 'Target folder location' to use... redirect to users home dir? create a folder for each user under the root path? redirect to the following location (using %HOMESHARE%%HOMEPATH% just sets it to redirect to home dir =S help! please

I take it I can redirect the desktop by using %HOMESHARE%%HOMEPATH%Desktop ? I'll try this out later on!

Im trying to redirect the Documents folder to say \\server\Staffhome\%username% but that doesnt work so i tried %HOMEPATH% and %HOMESHARE% and neither works. Policy is deffinatly to the user and not the machine. Even tried editing the registry with a UNC and that doesnt work either...well kinda does but you have to set the reg then logoff and on to get it to apply! GAH!

the baine of my life! Has any one got any tips? I've tried all sorts of different combinations of gpo's/scripts/reg keys all sorts and I cant seem to get the blooming folders to redirect! Thought i was on the ball earlier using %HOMESHARE% in the GPO but that doesnt work either! Any help greatly appreciated

Even in the same company! As I will do something one way and the boss would do it another, both achieve the same result though. so ba9ag do which ever works best for you for your requirements of your specification

Did you approve any new drivers? possibly you've installed a new wifi driver and its lost its settings? or does the laptop not see any access points at all?

Hey Guys, I've been google'ing for a website that lists say all the latest updates as they come from microsoft and say any news relating to the update with possibly a RSS feed. e.g. Update KB47472w582 Update for windows xp blah blah blah News: Kills pcs DO NOT INSTALL! Hi Guys, In a school I look after we currently have deep freeze 6 running without AV (bad i know, but not my setup). In the summer we go full 2008R2 with Windows 7 clients, I've read on here some where (can't find the thread using search) that you have to script your machines to boot > reboot thawed > update > reboot frozen > shutdown but cant find that script! In the Deep Freeze console I can create new settings for the clients to use and have found the options to make the schedule and for it to provoke WSUS. Just looking for some guidance on the McAfee update part really. Oh BTW its McAfee ePO Agent 4.5 (Provided by the LEA) TL;DR i want to update win7 clients antivirus with deepfreeze enabled:bowl: any help appreciated
