For external usage I'd recommend using the RD Gateway role (it can sit on your connection broker) so you run this all over 443 instead of opening 3389. That way you'll actually from the external point only ever connect to the gateway directly, the rest is tunnelled for you and handled by the RDCB. Internally you can carry on hitting them however you like because the comms are bouncing around happily internally. Can you elaborate a bit more on what exactly they're asking for. If they're asking you to point moodle.blah.com using CNAME to something like web1.company,com AND web2.company.com then no, that's against the RFC and bad things will happen if you hijack this into working. Hopefully that's not what they're asking

I'm running Cisco Client v5 on Windows 10... (vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0290-k9.exe) It was installed on Windows 8.1 prior to the upgrade, upon running it afterwards it gave an error about not being able to enable the virtual adapter. I uninstalled it then reinstalled it after running the compatibility checker and it installed fine without error. Hi Ben, You can use GPO to remove the ability to save credentials and such? (that's what I do on Windows Embedded) Typically we supply a signed RDP file to reduce the prompts and save the thumbprint in GPO too to make the whole experience smoother. Using ThinPC will give you the best multimedia performance from RemoteFX etc compared to Linux clients (this coming from a Linux guy!) though the Linux offering isn't bad. From a supportability perspective if you can lock the units down, preferably disabling all ability to write to the disk completely would be what I'd do.

I'd say you'll easily get away with 2 hosts looking at those types of servers. It's important to remember that with more cores per CPU these days you get a lot more on a single box than you used to. The key is to make sure your system is still resilient to n+1 should you lose one of your two boxes. So .. your current boxes are 6 core 12 threads, 2 CPUs in each gives you 24 slots to play with. On a modern box with say 2 x 10 or 2 x 12 core CPU's you're looking at 40 or 48 threads so you're well in the realms of almost twice as much oomph per box. (of course there are other considerations but if you're not flattening your current boxes it's reasonable to say it's going to be almost twice as big) Is your current back end storage providing you with enough grunt etc on your needs above (or are these new needs on top of current) - a lot of the time folks focus on the compute and don't think about the bottleneck at the back end. A lot of our smaller customer implementations run on 2 hosts with a third host running backups and acting as a DR host should you lose a host or main server room etc. You could probably repurpose one or two of your current boxes for that role. Those R620's aren't too bad either, if they're under warranty etc are you having performance issues?

Hi there, You can shut them down either way, RDP or using the vSphere client. Note, that the latter way will only work if you have VMware Tools running. Then maintenance mode and shut down the host. We've seen this with Sharp printers and some Canon kit on some larger customer environments. It's quite easy to observe if you export chunks of the default hive and look at the sizes. Better printer drivers are normally the cure but even then certainly on some of the Sharp kit it likes to poison this part of the registry anyway because it can ... *sigh*
