Can you show us your thinstation config file? Sounds like local storage is either disabled or not being passed in rdesktop.

Been a few years but yes, this is a known issue. There's a "hardware acceleration" bit in the settings, change that and it should fix it.

Redirected Desktop? Look at Site to Zone Assignment within the Internet Explorer settings in group policy and make sure the name of the server you're redirecting the desktop is in the trusted list. If it's not happening for the student desktop what is the difference here?

I had once of those beasts. Fondly referred to as Hoover with it's 9GB SCSI disks and complete lack of care for anything that wasn't linux! Good times.

Does this occur consistently on a PC or does it 'fix' itself with a log off / back on. Could be a GPO set on some but not other's that connect to the root of the folder.

We had this and another issue at the same time where the lcd panel would switch on and then power off after a few seconds. That's disappointing that they won't supply you with the parts, I suspect they stock a bunch of them for their own repairs (under ext. warranty) but don't make them generally available. I'm not sure if/where you could even source replacements for them either I'm sure someone else has tried retrofitting a screen into one of these, would be interesting to see if they got on.

Yes, had this happen and it was the analogue-digital converter board on the monitor panel that was the most common culprit. RM then changed the ones they used and came out and replaced 32 screens of ours as a result because we'd had 5 or 6 fail in a month.

Sounds like it will work on your phone because you will be sending as [email protected] (the address used in the authentication up there). I'd recommend creating a new email account on the lancsngfl infrastructure for your support desk and use this address as the username for email sending so the "client does not have permission to send as this sender" goes away. If you're getting this regardless maybe you need to look at what it is trying to send as just incase it's a misconfiguration somewhere.

Be careful, your boredom should not factor into this but if there is a genuine increase in work that is not being satisfied in your current work schedule then you need to highlight this with your line manager that as a result of prioritisation some tasks have been deprioritised and won't be completed until later/ever due to other more pressing tasks. Ultimately it will be the schools decision whether they wish to sacrifice the deprioritised tasks or grant you more time / additional resourcing to accommodate the demand. The smart thing here is to be polite, have plenty of examples of where you've not been able to do something because you've not had time and more than anything else do not mention your boredom in the afternoons but do mention how the school could benefit from you spending more time there.

Do CLEO not provide SGD? You could have an SGD account set up to publish rules to each of your supported school servers and use that internally & externally to get where you're after.

It makes good sense for them to do this as at the moment (depending upon what ports/protocols are allowed) it could be possible to spread malicious files between sites 'behind' the firewall. (NOT SAYING IT IS!!) Back in my school days we were fortunate that our RBC blocked all site-site traffic on the router acls unless a specific agreement had been reached between schools (and signed off to the effect). For those of you who do have arrangements in multiple schools I can appreciate this will be a headache, it might be worth asking whether you can have a VPN account that grants you access to schools which have signed off on it so you still retain the freedom necessary to function.
