  1. Split thread from: http://www.edugeek.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=990 In the BIOS the Module Bay is set to "On" the DVDROM drive functions under Windows, my dual layer DVDRW runs fine too (inc. burning CDs, DVDs etc) so im at a loss.
  2. i liked that car before the film! lol i actually think the one on the film looks pants, i fell in love with it the first time i played gran turismo lol
  3. Tis enabled, but says "not present" under the BIOS, yet it functions fine
  4. Livecam works, but it wasnt the livecam page i was trying to get to, it was the weather stats. 8O
  5. I dont like Evos, an R34 Skyline GTR V-Spec-II on the other hand...
  6. Your weatherstation page wont load in Firefox (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050919 Firefox/1.0.7) The only modules im running are agent switcher (tis on default for the page) and fasterfox and i have the evil page caching option disabled

  8. You tried CDROM booting them? I have some SX280s wit hthe pullout drives (they go in my D610 laptop too ) but i cant CD Boot for love nor money on the SX280 chassis. Ironically enough tho, using the exact same drive i can boot from CD on my D610 laptop.
  9. you could just cheat and use con2prt and run: \\Server\Share\Con2Prt.exe /F This will remove all network (but not local) printers (yes i know its an NT4 tool, but it works perfectly here and does not require big VBS scripts, why reinvent the wheel?)
  10. Hay thats the same reason I took the wifes MX-5 to work instead this morning. I dont fit in an MX-5... (and i aint kiddin lol) Even if i did i dont have a wife with one to steal or a driving license so ya know... 8O

    Remote Defrag

If you look carefully, the XP (all the way back to NT i believe) defrag is written by Executive Software After some research i did a while back to try and counter the same problem, i found a kb article (which i cannot currently locate :grrr:) white states it is impossible to remotely run or schedule a defrag due to the license limitations blah blah, M$ then promptly points you to executive softwares website. Also have any of you noticed NTBackup was written by Veritas...

  22. lol @ Tony, Well ive only got 3 stars! btw, why do some people find postcount so important? theres always someone out there with a higher post count and noone really cares either lol (btw im not bashing anyone im just airing one of those moments where you think of something and want to put it on paper)
  23. lol you beat me to it mark, i must spend far too long making my pretty url tags :S lol
  24. personally, i would go for a managed solutuion, but i wouldnt put in GBit to GBit, id drop something like a Dell PowerConnect 5324 for the backbone switch then link it to some 3424s or 3448s You get GBit backbone and GBit uplinks to each switch with 100mbit to the desktop, i currently have a similar but more dated (5224 and 3348s) running on cat5(!) running at full speed. Had a few probs with STP but after i ironed out the misconfiguration it now runs smooth as, and its quick as buggery too (regularly doin 50-80MBit to servers during working hours on large files etc) with very very low latency (usually the servers are creaking before the LAN does) If Dell isnt your cup of tea, take a look at HPs procurve kit, i personally have never used it but have seen a lot of reccomendations here and elsewhere.
  25. Who voted "Whats networking" lol
