  1. There's a lot of companies on that list I must admit i've never heard of. I take it there was set criteria for the Government to approve them and not just Billy in his bedroom got in touch to say he could help. There's also a lot of companies on that list for one reason or another either through bad experiences or others receiving bad experiences I wouldn't use ever again - so good luck with who you choose !
  2. Thinking aloud. What happens if some jack the lad in school, reports they have the symptoms / virus. Then everybody else in school receives a message to say someone in their vicinity that they may have came into contact with has COVID-19 ! I can see the mass hysteria now.
  3. We distributed around 50 chromebooks before the school closed. Basic taking equipment offsite form was completed - we didn't bother with insurance as the excess will probably be worth more than the device.
  4. I think it's great that they are offering it - although what are these companies getting for £2k? I've setup about 8 Office365 tenancies now for our schools and couldn't justify that charge for 8 schools never mind 1. Does it include training etc? From a technical point of view, it's probably half a days work for a primary at most - that's not a bad hourly rate.
  5. We went with 600mm too. We moved to meraki swtiches and struggled to get them in most of our cabs especially the bundles of data cables coiled up behind. I think the PoE switches seem to be deeper than standard, so even if you aren't PoE currently it will future proof you.
  6. We asked the DFE that question and got the following reply back so I think we are OK to use alternatives. Thank you for your email and apologies about the issues you have been receiving, as you can imagine the system is very busy at the moment and although a lot are having difficulties, Edenred are working day and night to provide help and support to schools in order to redeem vouchers. Our guidance encourages schools to use the national voucher scheme wherever possible, but states that we will reimburse schools if they deceide to take an alternative approach. You may also find the funding guidance (here) helps you in adapting an alternative process to enable funding towards children’s meals. We hope this helps in assisting you to move things forward.
  7. Our order we placed on the 1st April finally got delivered to parents this morning. For those contemplating ringing their support - supposedly it's premium rate number and some schools have been left with an £80 bill just on hold !
  8. We've got these working on Windows 10 using 1709, 1809 and 1909. It was an absolute nightmare finding the USB > serial drivers. I think with Windows 7 it would detect and install the drivers but it doesn't seem to do that with Windows 10 and these particular convertors we've got.
  9. Installed this today. Seemed to take a lot longer than normal to upgrade from 9.5 but no issues up to now with the backup jobs that have ran so far.
  10. Just seen your PM, which I will reply too but for everybody elses benefit - this was a deal we got via the LA. KM were the approved supplier.
  11. We use Konica Minolta Colour is 0.019 and mono is 0.0019 - that's a flat fee across the fleet of machines whether it's desktop printers or large MFD's in our print room.
  12. We add them all in - works well for school closures due to snow etc too where we can text them not to bother coming in - we weren't that lucky today though !
  13. We use RM Unify and although I think it's a good product the cost is crept up more and more for us as a secondary school over the years. It's more than likely we will look to Setup Azure AD and look to move to Salamandersoft or Ruler to create the groupings etc. RM Unify Premium for schools with under 500 pupils: £745 RM Unify Premium for schools with over 500 pupils: £1495 When I initially purchased for us as a secondary I think it was £495 ! I looked at Wonde at BETT - and do see huge potential for it in our primaries and for you as a special school.
  14. I got done doing the exact same speed in a 30 about 8 months ago. 3 points and a £100 fine was what I received - wasn't offered the course as it was over the threshold.
  15. https://phishinsight.trendmicro.com/en/simulator
  16. Our last Ofsted inspection was 13th February 2009 where we were rated outstanding. We've been on red alert for a few years expecting them to come but as our results have been pretty consistent and we haven't been classed as 'coasting' I think we've missed inspections. To be honest, we don't think we'd get Outstanding on the next inspection after arguing strongly to get Outstanding the first time round - we'll be happy with Good this time.
  17. We have labels on ours simply labelled "Teacher" this is where you would use ClassCharts / SIMS etc and "Student" basically whatever you want students to see via the projector goes on this screen.
  18. Another very very happy Libresoft customer here. Just setup the Wonde integration recently too so that's another admin task sorted and taken off my hands.
  19. I don't install Onedrive as part of our Office 365 Pro Plus and push out separately using the /allusers as you mention. Works fine for us.
  20. We use the Edukey Provision Map software with School Robins and my SENCO and student support staff love both systems.
  21. Year 11 leavers who don't come back to our sixth form are deleted in the first week in September. Sixth form leavers are all sent an e-mail before they leave to say the account will be available until the October half term before it has been removed.
  22. We've seen it but haven't got a fix as it happens for a small amount of time before resolving itself. We have generally struggled to go directly into the Outlook app but if we goto somewhere like OneDrive then click on the waffle and choose Outlook it loads fine as a shorterm fix before it fixes itself.
  23. What is the problem? After the SIMS Autumn release, when a user is in the Take Register, when the Print button is clicked you are met with the following error: "Error - Unable to load or process layout file. It must be a valid XSL file." Are any other reports impacted with the same bug? Yes, the same error in the code will impact the following reports in these ways: Error when printing Focus | Attendance / Lesson Monitor | Take Register Focus | Dinner Money | Record Pupil Meals User-defined fields do not appear Routines | Attendance / Lesson Monitor | Edit Reason for Change If user-defined fields are being used columns will display in the wrong order Focus | Attendance / Lesson Monitor | Deal with Missing Marks Focus | Attendance / Lesson Monitor | Deal with Unexplained Absences Crashes when opening a date range Routines | Lesson Monitor | Resolve Conflicting Lesson Marks How are we going to fix this issue? We have created PRB22999 and linked all customer cases to this. As of today a fix has been developed and we are now in the process of testing this fix to ensure that it resolves the identified issues and does not impact other areas of SIMS. This fix will be in the form of a Workstation Fix as this is not fixable via a database patch, its an update to some of the application code and files. When will the fix be available? As of the tine of this update, we are not sure exactly when the fix will be test complete and we can release, but please subscribe to this notification for any updates.
  24. I've heard of a few schools mention they now have issues printing registers.
