  1. Depends what your after really, full HD content from the History / Discovery channel etc, plus we had a 3D projector installed into our lecture theatre and Sky 3D comes with the package but not much content suitable in 3D yet but I am sure it will grow other than the occasional wild life documentary. We also utilise the BBC News / Sky News streams on our display screens around the school and utilise the Sky+ to record as and when required. For the £140 a year we feel we get enough use from it as it would have cost us around that figure to repair our old analogue TV aerial.
  2. We subscribe to Sky for Education and it costs us around £20 per month
  3. Yep, thats exactly what I do. Works fine.
  4. I received a kitkat this week in the post from QC Supplies.
  5. Does anybody know whether you can install this on multiple machines or if you are able to schedule a task for it to reguarly send / receive files without having to do it manually. I installed it on our server, and now feel it probably would have been better on the exam officers PC. I tried to map a drive, but it doesn't want to work probably due to missing .dll's etc.

    Network Analytics

I am sure @russdev will confirm, but Impero may do this. Spiceworks may do similar in a roundabout way too
  7. We've got 3 of the Epson Workforce Pro WP-4525 which work well and are cheap to run.

    CloudOn

I installed this last night and started to have a play. Works well synced up with dropbox too. I think this will be interesting setup on our iPAD's at school too.
  9. Windows Media Server and Sharepoint for us to allow us to stream content.
  10. I agree with @localzuk but you also want to be able to say when a student has done something they shouldn't "there you go, at the start of the year you agreed you wouldn't do x, y and z.". It's difficult to get a happy medium.
  11. yep and another - PRM Green
  12. We use CRB (Cunninghams) as our cashless catering system with sQuid for our online payments for parents. We haven't rolled out the school tips part yet but will do so into the future including uniform etc.
  13. We occasionnally get the 'oops theres been an error' message and we are Windows 7 and IE9. I am not sure if its necessarily client related or issues with granada, because we can try later and it works on the same workstation fine.
  14. Thanks - i've just signed up for it and will take a look at the issues when released.
  15. My 4 Rack cabinets have all been bought from comms-express, great next day service at a good price.
  16. "Don't Touch Me!!!!"
  17. Congrats Shaun - Jaegar Bombs all round
  18. I have the paid for solution on my Forest Server - then use the free version on the others. As @elsiegee40 pointed out, I mainly use the paid for version for file transfer, I think it also syncs up local printers as well but dont use that feature.
  19. I got a good deal with sQuid and dont really want to post the costs on here incase we paid well below the RRP which I think we did, but even their catalogue price was cheaper than the other competitors when I looked at them - Parentpay, Wisepay but I haven't heard of GoCardless so didn't investigate that one.
  20. Not looked into it in much detail yet, but our early indications are to move away from FMS to Corero too.
  21. We went with sQuid, only been using it for around 2 or 3 months but the parents appear to like it and the uptake has been a high percentage of our families.
  22. A simple ContactUs bit of coding with the relevant information you require from the students would probably also work well for little or no cost.
  23. Did you update your PE image on your forest server? Just adding the drivers to the RMMC isn't enough.
  24. We use HP Procurve switches here too and have done for the last 5 or 6 years. No need to have used the Lifetime warranty as yet and have spare switches that can be configured with the LAN configuration and dropped in where necessary. I even have a spare Core Chassis that I picked up from ebay relatively cheap and if our existing one was to fail, I could easily swap the modules to get us up and running again in an hour or two.
