From my last discussions this is something that Keep Kids Safe are looking at adding, but I am not sure of their timescales.

Check out the RM Communities forum, someone has kindly posted a step-by-step instruction guide on how to package up Office 2010 with our without SP1.

Usually via the MyAccount section on rm.com you should be able to download all curriculum choice packages you've purchased.

Where did you buy your iPads from?
Sylv3r replied to themanfromict's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Never used them before but NS Optium are sending me e-mails saying they are selling them for £274. -
We've used Skype via an iPAD to speak to schools in france. The ipad may have been setup with a static IP and exceptions added to the IP assigned via our Smoothwall box however, although I don't think we did these changes but have since done them for other apps so can't really remember.

Teamviewer package for CC3/CC4
Sylv3r replied to andyturpie's topic in Network and Classroom Management
I thought the client installed as and when required via a web interface. Staff install the small client, then via a unique connection number you are able to connect to their workstations to offer support. Logmein123.com works on a similar principal or bomgar. -
RM do a standard 2008 TS, not sure on the exact costs but speak to them and will integrate well with your CC4 install. This is not the RM Anywhere product but a vanilla Windows TS.

stuck on Please Wait For The User Profile Service
Sylv3r replied to FN-GM's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
I've seen this on one of our Server 2008 R2 Terminal Servers - sometimes can wait upto 15 mins before it eventually logs in - as mentioned above it generally does this after a restart, nothing exciting is mentioned in the event viewer etc. -
We dont publish exam results as the only way we provide exam results ala UCAS but students still come into school to collect their paper certificates. Once the exam results have been released we then make this information available to parents and students via the SLG. Makes it useful when our students are completing CV's or UCAS forms so they know exactly which subjects they studied, exam board and grade achieved.

JANET recently launched desktop conference software - never used it so can't recomend or criticise it. Desktop Videoconferencing

I thought a PAT test included a visual test - surely if the case is open or faceplace has been removed it fails before an electricial test is even carried out? Thats my reading of it anyway.
-
Same happened to me last year - did the price go up as part of the recent budget? Theres small print on the paper copy saying something like prices are correct at time of print and are subject to change blah blah blah

As a bit of experiment and boredom I stuck £300 on Madbid and won the following: GHD Hair Straightners £100 worth of Lottery scratchcards 3 x Mens Aftershave Dyson Hoover Kettle £50 Argos vouchers £50 cash This I admit was when the site first started off - 18 - 24 months ago so it may have been a lot quiter and easier to win. I more than enough get my moneys worth, but decided to right from the start that £300 was my limit. Some of the stuff I won I didn't really want but made a nice tidy profit on ebay selling it on. Everything was brand new and came generally direct from Amazon after a day or two.

Theres loads of pubs / sports bars / casinos that will show the semi final. No need to watch it on SkyGo )

Nope everything is seperate from SIMS other than being able to upload .csv files of teacher names etc from SIMS initially - certainly the case for SchoolCentre anyway.
-
Bluesky is one we have looked at but we are currently using a product called Schoolcentre. We also use it for SDP and the SEF. School improvement | school lesson planning tools with Schoolcentre Staff weren't too keen at first when we moved away from our paper systems, but now it's second nature to them.

hmmm not sure - I just thought everytime I have downloaded it I always needed a serial or certainly the route I have gone down has always asked anyway. You may be right.
-
The ACTIVote software is part of ACTIVInspire. Get yourself along to the promeathean website and download the latest version. You will need a valid serial number before the download link is sent through to you.

From the last discussion I had with Frog, they are re-looking at their pricing structure so i don't think it is currently / will be as expensive as £25k+ as you probably paid.

Can't remember the exact spec of our PC's running solidworks but they are certainly not overspeced. We also run it on a couple of Atom PC's purchased through stone which are only 2gig and i've not had any complaints regarding the speed etc.

Apologies @PhilNeal, re-reading my message just to clarify the interviews were arranged at short notice and not that CAPITA opted not to come into school as we were already a customer. They gave us alternative dates, but we wished to make a decision sooner rather than later due to the short timescales we have been set ourselves.

Broadband Provider - How Much?!?!
Sylv3r replied to RobFrain's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
£13k-ish for 10mb which sometimes pushes to 30mb if we are lucky. We were paying around £21k with the same LA supplier a year or two ago so it has reduced somewhat over the years. -
We don't directly give our parents staff e-mail addresses of our staff. All correspondance is directed to our generic school account then forwarded to the relevant person generally the HOY to deal with. Some HOY are often difficult to catch due to them being lessons etc, so some of our staff have passed on contact details via e-mail to ensure that the members of staff can be contacted where necessary. Behaviour at school is on the whole generally good, so we don't seem to have to high of demand with parents and staff communicating with each other via either telephone or e-mail.

Thanks @vikpaw, i'll post my questions in this thread when I think of them tomorrow. Will happily shares costs via PM but don't really want to post them on here. I have the initial quotes but once I get them drilled down a bit, I'll send you some info over. @GREED, I will let you know what I think by the end of the week. Sage and Agresso are in school tomorrow - CAPITA couldn't come in so wish to do a webex on Thursday.... not a good start although we already are a FMS school.
