A few issues with it Mark; (1) Randomly archives (including 'saved' items) (2) You can't view the archives (3) Some of the later items in a long list can't be viewed I've spoken with Securus, this is a known issue, and they hope to have a "fix" shortly!

Damn, I've just spent the last 2 hours downloading it for nothing then!

I had a saab 900 16v Turbo SE, superb machine (K Reg), last of the great Saabs. Full spec, leather metal sunroof aircon etc. What a car... incredibly quick, built like a tank (ask the sheep I hit at 60mph), and it had done 250,000 miles before I sold it. Thats the equivelent of driving to the moon!

does this girl not know that less is more? -
Just look at my avatar, It's a Citroen C4 VTR+, and it's gorgeous. All the toys; automatic lights, rain sensitive windscreen, dual digital air con, auto dimming rear mirrors... you get the idea. I do the website for the company that suplied it, so if you want a good deal (not necerally a fleet car) John Wildings I've yet to see the car dance though!

Disabling internet in one room.
StewartKnight replied to eejit's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Metalmonkey, I've tried the latest version of Lanviewer3 on one machine, and it seems to work fine. I'll extend it to a classroom today, and let you know if the kids manage to hack it next week. Thanks for the software! -
does anyone know how to enable / disable StickyKeys in GP?
-
what I was after was being able to read the leadin / TOC, to see if there are any identifiers from the culprits home computer. I'm sure there is even more data than that available to someone with the right software (i.e. MI5, police etc.)

One of the little darlings had a music cd that they'd "created", and tried to play in a cd drive (have then not realised yet, I've disabled CD's in the GP!!!) Anyway, the disc got stuck, and in attempting to retrieve the CD, they've distroyed the CD drive. I've managed to get the CD from the drive (took all of 30seconds). Is there anyway of identifing the computer that created the disc in the 1st place. I know every electronic device leaves a "fingerprint". Do I need some specialist software?

Adam Young had a good idea at the start of this thread, if there was a software alert...., or how about electrifing the ps2 (or usb) connector; oh the fun we could have!

call me old fashioned, but shouldn't teachers stop students stealing mice?

The 'SYSTEM' process is taking up all my cpu usage!!!
StewartKnight replied to woody's topic in Windows
was this screen dump taken when the CPU was at full belt? Perhaps you have a machine spamming the server! -
I'd use webmin as well, it's a doddle to install, and it's such an easy way to administer the system!
-
I'm going to install it just for that reason! I hate it when teachers have spent hundreds of pounds on software that is too old and pants to even grace the cover of a magazine, then ask me to install it on 75 machines before the end of the day, because they can't teach without it! Oh the joy to dump 16bit software!
-
alexknight, If I were you, I'd install Group Policy Management Tool from the W2k3 disc (it's not installed automatically, as that would be too useful!), Then play with the settings, it's fairly idiot proof & self explanatory.

I had that once, on one machine, a Dell desktop. I assumed that a kid had been messing around. The machine is XP Pro SP2
