  1. 100mb, we have Cleo as a provider, and I don't think I've ever had my full 10mb! BTW, the geek code is getting on my nerves... I still haven't figured out what it's supposed to mean!!!
  2. We ran it at the last school I worked at, and the kids loved it. I don't think it was about the "education", but about engaging with the kids, as even the less able students were able to "take pride" in it, win the weekly "who scored the most points" etc.
  3. I've heard some bad things about PlusNet (though I'm not with them) and rumour has it, they totally cocked up LLU (I think it was in Leeds), without telling their users they were being removed from good 'ol BT, everyone lost internet AND normal telephony!
  4. It's not generally known, but RM stands for "Rip-off Merchants"; or so I'm led to believe!!!
  5. too right! seperate all the way. You can't trust (l)users, & guess who'd get the flack when sims goes up the creek... the same one who's left to sort it out!!!! I wonder what the Sims people think about convergence???
  6. my wife thinks that they'd be good at talking and multitasking!!!
  7. I've just got one large c: drive, as at my last school the technician didn't partition enough space, and we had a hell of a time!
  8. Another reason to keep the networks completely separate (if the IT manager is an idiot or not!!!) is to keep the admin side virus free!!!
  9. something dear to my heart at the moment.... bulk entry of users and directories!!!

  18. I got an Acer with the 64bit processor. Now I realise that it's a waste of time. Sure, the 64bit processor will be great... in a desktop, but no-one is going to write 64bit drivers for the laptops, so it's great to say I've got a 64bit computer, but the reality is, it's only worth bragging rights
  19. The BEST thing is no annual apprasials, where you have to prove that you exist, work hard, and make no mistakes, for them to "award" you a £ a week payrise!!!
  20. if we're going to have a chat day, then the agenda should be agreed in advance, or it could be chaos. It's my opinion that we should wiki what the most popular topics would be
  21. I haven't got the Vista beta, but I did have the Longhorn one, I found out that it needed a Rad 9800pro to work properly (which I have), so I hacked it, to enable the funky graphics, and it looked great, I just hope they keep it in!
  22. I once asked a teacher to lock the door to the room where the computers that accessed the sims db was, after she'd finished. She told me, as a teacher, she was far to busy (read that as IMPORTANT) to lock doors after herself!! Teachers might like to think that the're "interlectual" (sic), but in my opinion, it's only the odd one or two (usually science teachers) who really are that gifted, and hence lacking in common sense. The rest are just arrogant!! Oops, did I say that!!!!

  24. You gotta love this guy... This is a true story about a recent wedding that took place at Clemson University. It was in the local newspaper and even Jay Leno mentioned it. It was a huge wedding with about 300 guests... After the wedding at the reception, the groom got up on stage with a microphone to talk to the crowd. He said he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding. He especially wanted to thank the brides and his family and to thank his new father-in-law for providing such a lavish reception. As a token of his deep appreciation he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift just from him. So taped to the bottom of everyones chair, including the wedding party, was an envelope. He said this was his gift for everyone, and asked them to open their envelope. Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 glossy of his bride having sex with the best man. The groom had gotten suspicious of them weeks earlier and had hired a private detective to tail them. After just standing there, just watching the guests reactions for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said, "F--- you". Then he turned to his bride and said, "F---you". Then he turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said, "Im outta here." He had the marriage annulled first thing in the morning. While most people would have canceled the wedding immediately after finding out about the affair, this guy goes through with the charade, as if nothing were wrong. His revenge...making the brides parents pay over $32,000 for a 300 guest wedding and reception, and best of all, trashing the brides and best mans reputations in front of 300 friends and family members. This guy has balls the size of church bells. Do you think he might get a MasterCard "priceless" commercial out of this?: Elegant wedding reception for 300 family members and friends. $32,000. Wedding photographs commemorating the occasion . $3,000. Deluxe two week honeymoon accommodations in Maui . $8,500. The look on everyones face when they see the 8x10 glossy of the bride humping the best man..........Priceless. There are some things money cant buy, for everything else theres MASTERCARD
