There is no such system that "prevents" DDoS's. There are systems that mitigate them, that's all - with varying degrees of success. In reality, big DDoS attacks can only be mitigated upstream. So, if Exa is having a connection hit, then whoever they connect to would be the ones having to do the mitigation - as it is too late if the data is on Exa's network already.

Can I just point out that mitigating an actual DDoS (a distributed one, not the misnamed ones) is pretty tough. It isn't something you can flip a switch with and resolve. It doesn't matter which ISP you go with, if you are a school you will face the risk of internet disruption caused by DDoS's. Schools get targeted all the time, and this affects their ISPs, which affects other schools. Most schools are clustered on a fairly short list of ISPs these days - probably a couple of dozen ISPs across the country, so you can be sure they've all had this same problem at one point or other. I know we used to see similar issues with our RBC connection before we moved to Exa. Only, we now experience it far less. In fact, we only noticed something wrong on the 26th, and haven't had any issues since. Today's one hasn't affected us at all.

One thing to take into account with the AirFiber stuff is that it does need to be a good distance above the ground - if it is too close to the ground, you start getting reflections that mess everything up. Also, pay careful attention to the DFS channels. Basically, if you use them and something else comes along and uses the frequency (eg radar, military etc...), your link will disable itself for a fixed period of time. Oh, and you may need a license if you use certain bands on 5ghz.

If you have an OVS-ES/EES license, with the Core CAL suite (which is included in the desktop pack), then you are licensed for it already for all clients. The only thing you pay extra for is management licenses if you want to manage your servers with it as well. We buy this as a "CIS" bundle for our servers - it includes the datacenter edition of Windows Server and management licenses, but you can buy the management licenses separately. CIS Datacenter Core is £53.72 per pair of cores.

Define "VR". Classroom VR is basically a hyped up panoramic photo viewer in my experience. The processing power needed to run a class set of actual VR headsets would be ridiculous.

Does that not apply to Chromebooks with Android support, rather than pure Android devices? I have a mix of both. EDIT: 3 hours after deploying the Outlook app, it has just appeared on our pure Android devices.

I am struggling to get the Google Play store to work properly on our devices. I have it set up in G Suite so that users in our Admins or Staff OUs are allowed to use Google Play fully (enabled in Apps -> Other Google Services). I also have it set to allow any apps to be installed under Devices -> App Management, for those 2 OUs. Yet, when I set up a device and log in with either my account or any of our staff accounts, we end up with Google Play showing but being entirely empty and being titled "My School Apps". Nothing turns up when I search etc... I've also tried forcing the install of an App (Tapestry and Outlook) and it doesn't install like it is supposed to. What am I doing wrong here? Chromebook related stuff all works fine, just not the Android bits.

We have a nursery that is connected back to one of our sites via a wireless link (gives them 60Mbps up and down). When users on this site try and save documents in Word, Word can freeze for minutes and sometimes even closes entirely (but without any error message in Event Viewer). Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? The documents are stored on a normal shared drive on a normal Windows 2016 Server box. All the clients are on Windows 10 1803. One of the clients is using Office 2016 VL, and the other 2 are on Office 365 ProPlus.

We just had this set up here. We paid for that 1 day of engineer time and it really is worth the money IMO. The guy we had knew everything about the system back and front. His explanation of STAS is that by default it uses WMI to check for people being logged in. If WMI isn't working properly, or the STAS agent can't connect to check, it assumes the person has logged off. So, the first thing I would check is the status of WMI across your Windows machines. Make sure the account you specified during the set up of STAS on your DC(s) is able to connect to the machines properly.

To add, the Primacy is rated at 1000 cards an hour for mono prints. Drops to about 200-250 for full colour (don't have exact timings).
