recently one of my colleagues here was fired for gross misconduct (touchy subject as i disagree with the whole thing) however he was in charge of our website, now he owned the domain and all rights to the site, but he has handed it over in a zip file, he did it all in wordpress and now we have bought our own domain for the school, the problem is we don't know the first place to start with uploading it we are using heartinternet for our hosting, anybody be able to help us out would mean alot Regards James

Thankfully, this is my personal file store at home so data loss won't get me sacked I have a 3 x 4TB RAID 5 Array at home, using some old SAS drives. One of them just failed, which normally would be 'OK' - OK in the sense that it shouldn't fail the array... but it did. . Took it offline, went into the P410 RAID controller and yup, drive 5, the middle one, was 'MISSING'. Ordered a refurb from ebay, fitted it last night. Loads of warnings about the array still being failed and the data lost. Ok, lets not panic, the data is still on the disks, I'll be able to sort it... Put the array back online, boot the server up real quick (OS is on an SSD on a separate controller) and see if D drive has reappeared. It has! Performance is horrendous though, as the RAID controller is churning away, presumably rebuilding the data on the new disk. Once the noise stops, I try to open a folder - great, I see folders! Subfolders now, this is looking good! File, crap - corrupt or missing. I try a single tiny 20KB jpg and that opens. Mind starts racing about stripe size - I'm a RAID rookie, but my understanding is that if a file is smaller than the stripe size, it won't be split across the disks? Please tell me if this is correct or not. I shut it down again, go back to the controller and see a status about a parity initialising in progress. I've left this over night and it's currently on 19%. Please tell me I've done the right thing? First of all, I've not done the good thing (ever) of taking a back up of the array. If this data goes, it's gone forever. All my GoPro footage, WIP premiere videos, my Plex movie library, documents etc. All gone and it's my own fault. What are my chances of this parity thing actually getting my data back together and usable? Or is it more likely that all these writes have scuppered any chance I may have had?

Hi I would be really grateful if you could point me in the right direction!! I want to create a report on SIMs with the attendance % for last year and the current attendance. I can't see how to get last years! I thank you in advance Emma

I am currently rolling out a number of Dell Optiplex 5090 desktops. It is the School's policy to reinstall windows or re-image the PCs when they arrive to remove bloat etc. When attempting to re-image via Macrium, Acronis or do a fresh windows install using Windows Recover Media - the C drive is never listed as an available option for installing the OS to. I thought this may be down to the PCs having NVMe drives. After updating RAID drivers, this problem still persists. The C drive works entirely normally when allowing the PC to boot into it's preinstalled Windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone get a working MSI or package for cc4 that they can let me have. Every time i try and build package it fails or when it works it does not install on to WIndows 7 workstations. I have tried a couple of time to build the package and all seems okay but it will not assign out just errors. Or can anyone tell me another way to install software from Server 2008 R2 i would rather not go around an manual install to 100+ workstations. I know there are other issues to work around but i need to get a working package first Or does anyone know of any alternative software that can be used my IT co-ordinator is saying it can only be APP inventor by MIT as that is what he has read in his paperwork. I have looked at Mobione Studio as it does bot Andriod and Apple but open to othe suggestions.

Hi, Wondered if anyone could help me. I'm in a report panic. I have a new to me (but very old) laptop which doesn't have report assist on it (which we are no longer using at our school) however, it would be very useful to go back over previous years' reports. I still have them saved on memory stick and have opened them to find a turtle.zdb file. I extracted it to get a microsoft access file. However, although I can get into this using the password merlin27 I can't work out where to find the report text I had written for the pupils. Is it possible to get this back in some way? I don't need the whole report setup it would be just so helpful to re-read back over the text from those reports (and maybe paste them into word for future reference..... Can anyone help me please??? Would be ever so ever so grateful. Loops

I have a crazy teacher at the school. The speakers spookily blew completely on their own (HA) We have new ones on order to be fitted. This particular member of staff needs 4, maybe 5 visits a day to keep her happy. ANYWAY The most recent thing is that when teacher tries to play any sound from the PC on a set of temporary speakers, the sound won't play...UNLESS I click the mouse - it won't play more than say, half a second, but it plays!! So if I constantly clicked the mouse it would play constant sound....Am I going crazy? Or could anyone help me? Said teacher is getting verrry agitated any I can't work it out!!
