Interesting. Vestel are basically the go-to company for licensed manufacturing of other brands of TV. I had a Hitachi TV at home which was made by Vestel. Pretty solid TV too, for the price.

Beware of second hand screens - we've had one of our SMART touchscreens die about a year after purchase from CC Communications. Ended up having to replace it entirely.

Ah, with ActivInspire, you're basically locked to using Promethean boards then I think - as you have to buy licenses to use it on non-Promethean boards last I checked. I was given a price of £800 a license to get licenses for the teachers who wanted it here. The "free" version is only usable on personal machines from what I was told. ActivBoard 10T78's (78") are about £1170 each also.

To be honest, these days, the way to go is to migrate to interactive touchscreens. If you're not using something like SMART Notebook, then you're pretty much wide open with device choice. You can get 65" screens from about £1300, or 75" from around £1900.

We've moved to the HTML client built in to 2016 here too. Even if you don't use 2016 for the RDSH server itself, you can install it on a RD gateway/web access server set up with 2012 as the RDSH.

The way we did it here was to have two servers as VMWare hosts, and a pair of QNAP NAS's filled with 2TB SSDs for storage. We then have a third QNAP NAS filled with 8TB HDD's elsewhere onsite for "quick recovery" (eg. if a NAS fails, if someone loses a file, or if a VM becomes corrupt). We then back up to Azure for disaster recovery. Specifics would be easier with knowledge of what it is you're running (how many VMs, how many client devices etc...).

Not got that far yet. The SAML stuff is only for end users accessing the Zoho Desk Portal though, not the actual helpdesk for your agents.

Yeah, our plan is to do this via spreadsheets, generated via a powershell script. However, they do have an API, so when I have a minute (ha) I may rustle up a program to do the integration for us using that. SAML would be for a single domain too, yeah.

The only way we got this to work was to set up a mail relay on-site. We used a postfix server to do this.

We've been using SiteHelpdesk IT for a couple of years, but have just signed up to user Zoho Heldesk as it is more modern and at a good price point for the features we want.

Edugeek's Space Engineers Server is now live. To join, first join our Steam Group Next, enable Experimental Mode under Options -> Game Finally, join the server via direct connect. The address is gs2.edugeek.net:27016 The server contains a number of mods, but nothing overpowered. Note, the server is a PVP server (as blowing each other up is half the fun), wolves are enabled as are spiders. Join as "No Faction", and set up your own factions. The "Space Police" will consist of just me for the time being! Maybe historically, but time has moved on. Christmas has become something other than a purely religious holiday. Its celebrated by people of all sorts of religions, and those without a religion these days. We can reflect on its history, but trying to define what it is today by what it used to be is just being stuck in the past at this point. If we all do that, there's huge aspects of modern life that are based on horrible things from the past. We learn from them, but we aren't bound by those things. Let's all just be merry, be kind to those around us, and enjoy the holiday with friends and family. That's what its about to most these days.

I still don't get "Class VR". The product appears to be a class 360 degree panorama viewer, looking at their VR content? What value does this add to a lesson?

Apparently, if its a list of subjects, then it should be only things like English and French that are capitalised. I suppose it depends if you're using them as pronouns or just nouns. So, at a university you'd say the Maths Department, but the subject you study is maths. That'd be my take on it anyway!
