G Suite have rate limiting on their addresses via SMTP - they don't really want lots of email like this sending. Their limit is currently 2000 a day, on a rolling basis. This works out around 83 an hour. Your options are - set up a local SMTP server, or use a different service (something like Sendgrid). We used to handle rate limiting by having our own relay server (Postfix) which also rate limited how quickly it forwarded emails onwards to Office 365.

This is very much just about limiting jurisdiction. Google, if they operated in only in the US would only be subject to US laws. Operating in the EU, they are subject to both the EU laws and individual member state laws, as well as US law. For UK customers, now we're out of the EU, it makes sense as an entity for our data to be handled by either a UK entity, or a US entity, not an EU one - so, for any legal issues with UK entities, they would only have to worry about UK and US laws. Its just to simplify their compliance for UK customers really. Won't actually make any difference in reality, until UK laws change somehow. The big question coming up is how UK law will handle US data processing, as the "Privacy Shield" is an EU agreement, not a UK one. The ICO and the US say this would be a case of the non-UK providers adding UK to their declaration, but I suspect it will play out in courts anyway. Plus any future trade deal may well change things too.

Do you have any programming knowledge? One way you could do this is by using the API and making your own bit of software that connects to the Net2 system and grabs the data you need?

Under System -> Administration, take a look in Device Access. Ping/Ping6 is where permissions are set allowing things to ping (its done by zone) that XG box. So, for me, for example, our LAN, WAN and our PTP Zones are allowed to ping, as well as our HA zone. However, that only prevents pinging of the XG box itself - not the zones in the client - that is determined by your firewall rules.

In which case, it might be a rule on the pinging XG box then - blocking the ping leaving the box? Check the logs on that one to see any logged messages FROM it to the other.

That sounds like you have a rule doing the blocking that doesn't have logging enabled?

Use their black on clear tape, and tell your printer to print in reverse? Our Dymo Rhino 4200 allows us to reverse the text. So, you don't need to print on the sticky side.

Check the log on the "unpingable" XG box - look for the IP of the pinging XG and see what rule is blocking it.

Next thing to check - the printer you're printing to, is it assigned to the release station? Other than that, I can't think why it wouldn't appear. Might be worth contacting your Papercut support people (ITS do the support for us).

They should be seeing their print job if their PIN is assigned to the same account as their AD username and password - if they're not seeing it, there's something wrong somewhere else I think? They don't somehow have 2 accounts on Papercut do they?

Yes, but you don't put the PIN in when printing - Windows uses your login credentials to do it. The PIN is just auth direct with Papercut. When you send a print job, it uses your username and password to authenticate with the print server, not just the PaperCut server.

I don't think you can - the username and password is needed by the print server itself I believe, just like if you print from Windows etc...

I run a 5 year rolling budget, based on what we can roughly afford and what will need replacing. My budget covers the whole Trust. So, 1600 children across 6 schools, and then 2 independent nurseries and 2 pre-schools that are part of their first schools. The budget covers all connectivity, licensing, hardware etc... It doesn't include staffing, and it doesn't include finance licensing or curriculum software licensing. It varies year to year, depending on need - this year is around £140k. Last year was £185k. Next year's forecast is £225k. One thing to take into account is that we are in a very expensive area for connectivity. A 1Gbit internet leased line is £14.5k here, so some costs are higher than other schools/Trusts may see. I now buy things "Trust-wide" where appropriate, and this year's budget has £79k of trust-wide spending in it - MS licensing, internet connectivity, firewall/filtering renewal, backups, MDM renewal, phone software license maintenance etc...
