yea winclone is good, very quick too but the image it creates need to be passround to each mac individually and still needs to be bootcamped first

i have done this before just ghost the partition to the other macs. The macs must be bootcamped first tho!

like most schools we are solution led, but our head likes us to stand out and is renouned for testing rubbish out for the local LEA, making my job fun! so it wouldnt suprise me to see these next year

Thanks for all the replies guys, i am dreading these gadgets hitting my school and i am putting off as much as i can but with the head extremely impressed with our new mac suite hes edging that way. maybe its time the mac suite had a major network crash and caused unfixable problems for a few days to put him off!! lol

Anyone going down this route? seems very costly for what they are but there attractive and on tv so naturally people want these. Anyone know of any education resellers and rough prices?? I love the way the starting price on apple is £429, and education price is £429 very helpfull apple!!

Can you set by group policy to make web shortcuts always open in a new window? i know you can do it in explorer options but for 500+ PCs its not really an option. TA!!

Anyone seen this before, crazytalk on load ask if we want to upgrade (we dont it costs) then when we click no it closes the whole application. But when logged on locally it continues with the program without the crash so i suppose its a restriction error

hi guys, anyone know how to check for a printer on usb then set it as default, must be BAT format tho sadly because i want it to fit in to my current script. we currently map and default network printers like this: IF %Location% == itsuite \\Domain\netlogon\CON2PRT /CD \\Domain\suite using a enivronment variable to set locations. Any ideas?? Thanks

ThinkPads are IBM i presume, in my experience IBMs dont image with ghost very well. They have there own software availible from IBM but its not cheap

Agreed, if this site gets blocked on the proxy ill have to start doing work!! and im not prepared to do that so stop the potty mouth -
i would speak to the head, and explain your stretched and a part time techie would really lighten the load, then just allocate an hour or two to document if the tickets dont get done so be it. people will get annoyed and go above your head to complain, but with you speaking to the head first you may get another techie
