Problem solved!! moved the code line to the very to of the script and SUCCESS!! yippee

right i copied the lines to a test.bat and ran it with success!! (and yes i was using Lnk not ink) for some reason it just wont run from the login script!?! maybe a wait command may fix this

help need to run a shortcut from login script because its easier than sticking the shortcut in every pc's startup folder. tried call /k "\\server\folder\shortcut", and call /k \\server\folder\shortcut, call /k "\\server\folder\shortcut.ink", call /k \\server\folder\shortcut.ink also tried start "\\server\folder\shortcut.ink", start \\server\folder\shortcut.ink, start "\\server\folder\shortcut", and start \\server\folder\shortcut, :mad::mad:

iv tried contacting them but after an hour on the phone and 4 hours waiting for a call back, i thought id would ask the ever reliable. Ranger outpost has been installed and works fine, it will login and run. then sometimes it says cannot find host or no such host exists. sure enough if you leave it for 10 - 15mins and try again it will connect!! its doing my head in, when on the server it will always log in but remotly on a network pc it has this issue. i think its something to do with the service on the server but i have no clue on fixing it, any ideas??

Please help guys! I was really need help with this; I am trying to create a DVD proposal to my girlfriend. I recently met her on holiday whilst we were both stuck due to the Iceland volcano; I wanted a collage of news reels with the footage and news casters. Then at the end I would like to add my own message asking her to marry me, she will love this if I get it right and it will be something to show the grandkids in the distant future. I am terribly non creative and have no experience working with video editing software, if someone would make me a video I will be happy to let everyone know how it went and of course a wedding invite if they wished!! As much as I know you all seem to dislike the iphone and its apps, you cannot deny the money a successful app would generate. So it got me thinking if I were to create an app what would it do? Then I began to realise it very hard to be original with this due to the shear amount of apps already available. Ideas on a postcard!! Set up fine, this is my third school i am using this in and this is the first problem i'v seen. Will load fine on a domain admin account, but any other user and it says "the url could not be retrieved". Initially i thought of shortcut permissions issue, but the url wont load when typed into the browser so god knows?!? any hints? Running on Server 03, and loading on XP sp3 machines. Regards Tom

Just had a phone call and this has happened at another of my schools!! i have to go and reinstall another 400 NICs this afternoon now, the only thing these networks have in common is RangerSuite but after speaking to ranger they are confindent it is not them. On the brightside it seems to be not reoccuring on the same pcs after a reinstall I think im gonna get rid of ranger, and active directory and gpo it all instead. takes longer but no issues!!

i had a similar problem once and it turned out to be a cross over not straight through cable (or the other way round can never remember which)
